Kevin's T Rex review

First thank you Kevin for your review! We have been thinking of trying out T Rex for lunch on the day of our MVMCP since we couldn't get an ADR in the park like we normally do. Now I'm not so sure though! The place sounds awful, and I think that what you said about John's entree costing the same as a Jiko entree..well. I kind of would rather eat at Jiko !

However I'd still like to see the inside of the T Rex, and I wonder if there is a way we can get in there but not have to eat? One option I thought of was perhaps having a drink and appetizer at the bar but my guess is it's as noisy there as well?

Not sure what we are going to do but I don't want a headache for the Mickey's party so thanks for the heads up Kevin !

Kathy I saw that and your pictures are brilliant , it is an amazingly looking place and I'm looking forward to hearing what you thought when you eat there. Good to hear that you were able to just walk in, maybe we will swing by one day when we are in DTD and have a look and see what we think about the noise level before the day comes that we planned to dine. Hopefully if it is that loud as Kevin says, and I'm sure it is, that they will fine tune those dino fellas by the time we get there in December.

YIKES Kevin, sounds like we are gonna skip it and maybe visit the gift shop. My 3 year old will be scared to death of that. I am glad you commented on the noise and the kids being scared. I will keep my ressies at Spoodles now. LOL. No food is good if you cant enjoy it.

I can't even imagine. Dinosaurs with PMS doesn't sound like a place I want to be!! I had a feeling it was going to be loud and obnoxious inside, but I never expected it to be loud and obnoxious outside as well! That is going to ruin the whole MarketPlace atmosphere!!

If THIS is Disney's idea of the "more dining experiences" they are promising to replace Adventurers/Comedy Club and a hint of the type of approach they will eventually be taking with PI, then I am truly saddened. Might as well go to Chuck E Cheese. (No offense intended toward Chuck E. and his fans)

i've never been impressed with rainforest cafe food.......we had a horrible experience at our last visit to the one here in dallas. I think we will pass on it and just visit to see the scene.....sounds like that is about the best it has to offer.

We will be going in a couple of weeks. Its funny because I love Kevin and his reviews, and almost always agree with him. BUT the more he talked, the more I thought my boys are going to love it! Don't get me wrong DH, DS's and myself all love fine dining. Jiko is our favorite, but we also like loud, crazy obnoxious places (as long as they don't try to take my food away before I am done!!! ) I'll have to give you all a review after I get back.

Thanks for the review Kevin!! My family will be eating at T-Rex for sure at Christmas (we're forgoing Rainforest Cafe for the first time in years- but that break in tradition is ok!). We're looking forward to it. My brother loves dinosaurs so I'm sure he'll get a kick out of the restaurant. And the inside is so impressive!!!

Really, do they have a bar? Cuz I'm mostly deaf anyways (I think from overuse of the iPod earphones). And I LUVS me some noisy dinosaurs! Especially Bronchial-saurs, Kevin.

Kevin, the review was everything I thought it would be and more! I just knew you guys were going to hate this place...lol...awesome review! Seriously though...I was going to take my DS 2 but after what you said about little kids being scared outta their wits, I think we will pass.

Dh and I were going by, on I think the second day of their opening, and walked through the gift shop area (just to see everything). We couldn't wait to get out of there (way too loud for us), but we also looked at each other and said "our grandkids would LOVE this".
