Kerry & Esty - 12/7/10- SBP/MVMCP (Rev Issues)

I didn't even think about swapping...was there a charge for the because I could definitely go for a guitarist (but if the charge is too much, I could just get the audio tech)

There is a charge. I think it is between $200 and $300, I would have to check my BEO, but you get like 5 hours.

Man, I only need him for like an hour...maybe he can just follow me around while I get dressed. My own personal soundtrack!

Kerry... everything is sounding great! I think it was deff. a good choice to move your date up to save money, that way the wedding isn't as close to Christmas too. I am freaking out about where we are getting all this money too! You are getting close!

So I found out I'll be in Orlando the last week of April for a convention. While bummed I really won't be able to visit the parks, I may schedule some hair and makeup trials to at least take advantage of the situation.

I picked up my great aunt's ring today and the jeweler did an amazing job. He replaced one of the emeralds, fixed all of the settings and resized the ring.

And now that we're almost able to finally book the wedding, it's time to book our stay. I think we decided on the Pop Century to the day before and them a Studio at the Boardwalk Villas through the rest of the time (well that is what we are going to book, we'll see if that changes, like all of my plans lol).

Confirmed with Bill we're still pencilled in for Dec 7, noon at the SBP. Now I just need to contact him on April 7th to start the process!

Just got off the phone and made our reservations for the Studio @ the BWV's for Dec 4-12. We thought that even though we may go to the Pop Century for the first couple of days, it would be better to reserve the Studio because there are less of them. Also a good friend of mine is a Cast Member and is looking into giving us her discount for the rooms (if it is more than the AAA rate, depending on the season it can be up to 50%), the favors and anything we need off disneystore.com. She is now my personal fairy godmother!

Now we might be changing where we have dinner after the wedding. Around 3 am last night I remembered that the DF is allergic to oranges. With Ohana's there are a lot of sauces/glazes that could have orange and I really don't want to spend my wedding night in the ER with his face and throat swelling. My friend works at one of the restaurants in the MK and she is going to see if there is a way to section off a wing for our party. Having it in the MK would be nice because it would be less traveling from them BWV to the MK to a monorail and back for the MVMCP...

Off to work on the registry...

FYI - Disney is GREAT at working with allergies - my sister's BF is deadly allergic to nuts, and has many many other sensitivities as well, including eggs and certain kinds of fish, and he was able to eat at all of the restaurants...just call the restaurant in advance and speak to them and see what they can do. The last time we were in Ohanas the person seated next to us was allergic to peanuts and the chef came out personally to talk to them and make sure they got exactly what they needed....if your heart is set on Ohanas I would call and see what they say!

And gratz on the reservations! I love these milestones!

We weren't exactly hooked on Ohana's...we just thought it would be fun. We're not big meat eaters (mostly chicken) so the food for us was "eh" but then add on the allergies, that Crystal Palace is in MK and our friend might be able to pull some strings, we said why not change it :)

Small gripe - tried to work on the registry last night. Site was down. Tried again around 11pm, it worked. Came back this morning, site is down and all my stuff is gone....oh boy.

I have heard that Disney is really great with working around allergies but it sounds like the hook up at Crystal Palace may work really well too though. The only thing is... would you be able to wear your dress? Don't know if that's a big issue to you or not, I guess you'll be changing before MVMCP anyways.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with the registry... I need to try that.

I wasn't going to wear my dress to dinner. I'm more comfortable in Jeans and a T-shirt anyway :)

They must be doing updates to the registry site. I tried to log into today and now it is saying that my account doesn't exist, so when I try to create a new account - it says my info is already in use

I work for a federal agency that handles emergency/disaster management (I'll let you all guess the agency). With all the snow and now flooding, the president is declaring disasters left and right. My boss just informed me that West Virginia will probably get a declaration tomorrow or wed and I'll be "deployed" to WV for at least three weeks.....THREE WEEKS. :scared1:

Throw on top a conference the last week of April and another the first week of May. I won't see my home for five-six weeks.

I also started teaching college again and I have to check in/respond to students/grade assignments every 24 hours...now it is a mad rush to buy a notebook (can't take the family laptop), tie up any loose ends and just sit and wait for the marching orders.

And I'm so close to finally being able to make my #&%*# deposit. I guess this will help make the time go faster...

I haven't smoked in 4 years but this might make me pick it back up :headache:

Oh, I am sorry to hear you are having a stressful time! I understand the smoking thing, I feel that way from time to time as well. Just never buy an actual pack of them, because than you feel like you need to finish!

UGH - that SUCKS...work can throw a real damper on "life" can't it?? Although it IS the thing that allows us to pay for the d**m wedding....lol - what a conundrum. (I am by nature very sarcastic - however although this may sound sarcastic it's not intenede to be that way - work really CAN be frustrating when you feel like you have no control over what is about to happen to you!)

And DON"T smoke! Oh man it's tempting - did any of us ever realize that these details could drive us back to that point??? I only quit smoking in December so am so scared that if I ever picked up even one again I'd be buying a pack in a second....it's not worth risking it, and would only make you feel better for like 3 or 4 minutes!

:cheer2: <---That is me, cheering for you! You can get thru it!

I'm so sorry that work is stressing you out. I would not be happy to be away from home for all that time either and then add wedding planning and school stresses on top of it. But being busy does make time go faster.

Definitely don't smoke, I know it feels like it'll help but it really won't. Maybe try taking a few deep breaths, a lot of people find smoking "calming" because it slows your breathing. I gave up smoking six years ago and there were definitely times I thought of picking up the cigarette, but believe me, you'll be so glad you didn't. And to have already quit for 4 years, it might even make you feel sick. One time I did sneak a cigarette and it just made me so sick that after that I knew I had basically quit for good. ;)

Sorry the registry crashed on you. It seems like a lot of girls have had that problem. I hope they work it out soon!

Kerry I am so sorry to hear about work. :sad1: That really stinks! It must be really difficult having to be away for that long. Hopefully something will change and you won't have to be away for so long. If you do hopefully the time will go by really quickly.

Got my marching orders, I leave Friday for at least two weeks (very unsettling buying a one way ticket and having hotels/car rentals reserved for a month).

The hotel has wifi and I will be calling Bill on the 7th no matter what!

Kerry, I love all of your planning. Good luck with your deployment in WV(you'll at least be in my neighboring state). I totally understand your frustration. My DH works for the State Department so his job frusterates me. I hope you're able to get SBP and on your date. Wishing you all the best while you're away.

hey! Just catching up. I am sorry you have to go away for so long! I hope you don't get stuck out there for too long! Hang in there dear

Are you in west virginia yet? Have you hit up WV Charlestown races & slots? That place is da booomb. In any case, with you being deployed and teaching classes, at least it makes you sound really important and smart :flower3:

Okay being here in WV (we're working 12 hour days and I've been working since last monday, no weekend break for us) has basically taken up all of my time but at least on Wednesday, I can try to sneak away to finally make my deposit....two days away!
