Kerry & Esty - 12/7/10- SBP/MVMCP (Rev Issues)

YAY! Glad the KTTW cards worked out for you! Did you use the magnets with them? I love the Avatar, it makes it so personalized- very creative! I really like the invite too, are you making them or are they from Etsy- I think I've seen something similar on there. Sorry you had to switch resorts but I think in your situation it's probably best- we've stayed at POP several times and LOVE it there!

The save the dates turned out great! I also really like the invitation layout. I think even though BW would have been great, you'll have more fun staying near your family and I like your DF's idea of using that money to splurge on your next trip.

Just caught up. Awesome Save the Dates! p90x is crazy intense! It's awesome. Tony is a little ridiculous, but it's definitely a good workout.

I'm slowly easing into...living in hotels and eating fast food for a month took it's toll on my energy level

Wow, your save the dates are awesome! I really like the invites as well :goodvibes DH and I are looking at going to WDW in December, so I'll have to see if we will be there to stalk your wedding!

Yay, I love stalkers! Wait...that came out wrong...we'll definitely meet up if you are around.

Isn't it great how you can convince boys to plan a whole trip around a small disappointment? I managed to do that with my DF.....I couldn't pick a resort...and was back and forth for months....so DF said whichever I didn't pick we could go back and stay at next year! I think it will be nice staying with your guests and the pop is a bunch of fun.

The save the dates are super cute! I love that your used the avatars! thats a great idea.

I think the invites will look great! can't wait to see how they turn out when you get them.

We were trying to find a way to use our avatars, everyone knows how much we love our xboxes. Those that know they are avatars will get the joke, others (like the DF's grandmother) will think they are just cute pictures lol

I am sorry to hear about all of the trouble you are having with getting your rooms booked. It sounds like you may have found a good solution for everyone, so I hope it works out.

I love your save the dates and invites. The save the dates are very unique to you, which makes them so much more special!

I love your save the dates and invites. I wish I was that creative.

I have the P90X but only do a few of them. I love one that sounds something like KenpoX (I am too comfy on the couch to go in the basement and look :) I am able to do the Slim in 6 advanced ones from the same company.

MCMCP is so much fun. How nice of you to treat everyone.

We had such a blast when my DD, DF & I went in 2007 so I hope everyone will like it.

I think saving that much money is worth switching hotels. It will be nice to stay in the same area as your family and now you have more spending money :goodvibes

Love the invites!! I can't wait to see the finished product. That's awesome that you got the Keys to the World cards - such a neat idea. :cutie:

Polynesianbride pulled my butt out of the fire on the KTTW cards, Disney was not about to send them for any reason.

We did use the magnets and I actually had some extra business card magnets lying around for the rest of them. I used up the last of my creativity on those cards so we're using someone from Etsy.

Yeah...so about the reservations. Tonight was the night we were going to get my parents to finalize their reservations. I guess my mom was looking forward to the Boardwalk (my sister said she spent hours looking at reviews) and when she found out that my dad said to switch it to the PC, she was none too pleased. Long stories short, both of my parents will need ECV's while we're down there so transportation/location is a big factor in our planning. After about three hours of "conversations" and a few thoughts of "screw it, I'm going to the JOP tomorrow", we're back at the Boardwalk :scared: Time to call Disney again and switch our Grand Gatherings and Reservations.

Oh and the DF calls me on his way home from work:

DF: What are your plans Wednesday
Me: Um, in the office, then nothing....why?
DF: Oh my parents, Aunt, Uncle and cousin are coming for dinner
Me: #^%@*% *sigh* let me put in for time off.

At least we'll hopefully be able to finalize their travel plans...but I just have this gut feeling his Aunt, Uncle and cousin are going to try and talk their way into the plans. :headache:

I love the STD's and the invitations, both look great! I think you will have a great time at the Boardwalk hotel. Me and DF usually stay at a value when we go by ourselves, but decided to splurge for the wedding, you only do it once!

Ooo I haven't updated in a while...

Well my room at the Boardwalk is paid off. My dad felt so bad for all the confusion he offered to pay for the difference of the Boardwalk and Pop Century. My parents finally booked their airlines, hotels and park tickets (that was an experience, trying to make sure we had a handicapped room with a bench in the shower & handicap seats on the airlines). We also booked two ECV (those scooter things) for my parents. My parents booked one room for the week and two nights in a separate room for us girls to get ready (and somewhere for me to sleep the night before the wedding...we kinda forgot about that and my dad needs more time in the mornings to get ready).

We received the proof of the invitations and just put our order in:

$65 for 13 invitations - two layers on the main page, two sheets on the right, the folded envelope, the ribbon & "clasp" and shipping. I definitely recommend them!

We're getting close to when we can start to make dining reservations (June 7) so we're trying to figure out who is staying and for how long. I think the DF's family are staying Sunday-Thursday but we're not sure about my MOH/his BF and if his friends from FL are going to stay for a couple of days. I don't think we're going to make any lunch reservations and just stick with dinner

Monday: Mama Melrose before the Osbourne Lights Show (nice way to kick off the festivities and an early night)
Tuesday: Crystal Palace - it's in the park & has characters and I didn't want to pay private dining when I already paid for the MVMCP
Wednesday: Biergarden (oh so yum)
Thursday: Cafe Mickey

Friday night (after my parents leave) & Saturday will be the only private days Esty & I have so we'll try to plan something romantic those nights (this is why we're planning a honeymoon in 2011).

Beyond that, we're down to little details, transportation from the hotels for the big day...and how the hell am I going to wear my hair?!?
Stopped by Men's Warehouse - the woman was less than helpful. I explained our situation (that we will be calling the suits into a store in FL) - once she realized she wouldn't be getting the sale, she threw a book in my direction and walked away. But I got the info I needed ($49.99 for the basic men's tux, suit, shirt, bowtie, cufflinks) and $89.99 (all the above but a vest & tie for the men). We're going to pay for the hair/makeup for the girls and the suits for the guys.

Just got caught up on your pj. The save the dates and invitations look so great! Glad you were able to get everything booked. I really enjoyed staying at the Boardwalk, I hope you love it too.

Sorry to hear about the Men's Warehouse lady being so rude. Very poor costumer service! I was planning on using them too, hope my local one has more helpful people.

I'm glad you got things paid off...that must feel good. The invites are great! Your dining choices so good!

this is the site I used to find what hair I wanted
http://www.projectwedding.com/photo/browse?tag=hair
it takes forever to go through but it helped me.

Thanks! I'm going to make an appointment with a salon up here and try some things. I should just slick it back, throw it in a bun and call it a day.

I think it was just that location - as soon as she knew she wasn't getting the sale she didn't care. Now I just need to start getting the guys measured....

That is great that you have your itinerary planned out. ADR time is coming up so soon for you!

Now, the DF and I just need to plan the few meals we have alone together.
I've been so busy trying to plan for everyone else I forgot about us

Your invites are so cute!!! I am going to try and make mine soon!

I know we're super early, but I'll be glad to have them and not have to rush at the last second. We're also trying a few things like clear envelopes and rose petals in the invitations so the time is coming in handy. :woohoo:

So a small rant on Amy, it's a small one but a rant none the less.

I asked Amy for a summary of our budget, just to see how we were doing at the six month point. She was awesome and got it to me the next day but it was missing ALOT.

The MK/Epcot photo shoot (We were scheduled for for Dec 10 @ 5am, now not sure if we are still scheduled or if it was just an oversight)
The two characters
The guitar upgrade

It's an easy fix, but it just makes me think she wasn't paying attention to any of our emails or during any of the conversations (and it is a HUGE change in cost).

And the DF laughs when I check and double check things.

That is pretty annoying...I would be irritated too. I kept asking for new budget sheets/BEO's everytime we made a change, so that I could see that everything looked right. It is a good way to really nail it into your planners head of exactly what you want. I feel like the Escape planners have so many weddings, that they get confused. My planner told me she had like 10 weddings the week I was getting married...that is crazy :confused3

To Amy's credit, she sent the updated budget right away:

Our Disney Wedding Budget: $8632.58
Ceremony/Cake/Limo $4750
Upgraded photo package $825
Two characters $1350
Guitarist $250
MK/Epcot Shoot $1400
Extra bottle of Cider $30
*we're doing only cider due to having minors and my mom can't drink alcohol)
Mickey/Minnie Sugar Hats for the cake $30

When we start our talks with Rosie, the price will probably go up a little (hoping just a couple of hundred). Again, we're using our own silk flowers, but I do need petals, some kind of decoration for the railings (simple ribbons work for me), and chair covers.

Our *entire* wedding budget: $17057
Ceremony $6500
Crystal Palace $800
MVMCP $1219
Characters $1350
Photo Package $1400
Photographers $850
TiW $150
Floral $200
Invitations $60
Favors, Tuxes $1500
Hotel $1836
Airlines $467
Reverend $225
Beauty $500

I overestimated for the favors/tuxes (and didn't take into consideration our Cast Member friend who is going to give us her 50% for the hats, guest "book" and some other items), but wow it really adds up.

Why $150 for TiW? It's $75 for the first as AP holders and $50 for a second one if you get 2...

Oh wow I haven't updated this in a while...a couple of new changes & I'll post pictures soon

*Had pins made through zazzle & etsy (had a copyright issue with Zazzle, they have Disney logos but none can be used on pins)
*T-Shirts made through VistaPrint

I had my consultation with Rosie. She is getting us blue rose petals for the aisle, for our toss and for our aisle decorations (4 roses at the top and bottom of the aisle with blue/ivory bows & ribbons). We're also doing ivory chairs with blue ribbons (waiting for confirmation on the exact shade of blue).

The big change...we're getting Cinderella's Carriage. I'm always the one watching the pennies and putting things back because "it's not needed" but I said screw it...we only do this once.

Aw congrats on making a fantastically impulsive decision :) We all need to have those things that we do because "we're only doing this once" - congrats on making yours a big one! The carriage is so pretty and truly is a once in a lifetime experience!

Can't wait to see the shirts/pins!!

Cogratulations on Cindy's carriage!!!
Glad to see you are posting again!!
I, too would love to see the pins and teeshirts

Yay for booking the carriage!! I am also budget conscious, and I considered giving up the coach, but like you, I figure I am only doing this once, so why not? I hope that everything else is going well for you!

Yay! congrats on the carriage thats soooo exciting!

can't wait to see the pins and t-shirts!!
