Kerry & Esty - 12/7/10- SBP/MVMCP (Rev Issues)

So things seem to be rolling along while we wait for April.

My one matron of honor (my sister) has purchased her dress and shoes, I'm sure the other will be soon to follow (she lives in WA and was waiting to see what we thought of the color combo for my sister).

While considering how we were going to ship the glasses for the favors to FL and then how our friends would carry them home, we decided to go with t-shirts for the girls and beerware for the guys.

For my sister

I'm deciding between a t-shirt or hoodie for myself (how are December nights in FL?)

(Not sure of the wording as I plan to keep my last name, so maybe Esty's Bride or Esty's Wifey)

I received some huge news that I start (another) new job in two weeks. I applied for this job in August, had my interview in the beginning of November and I've been going through security clearance for the past two months. I'll be working with the Fed Govt now during the day and teaching college at night. Maybe it's time for me to start drinking coffee :surfweb:

My second round of jewelry came in (thanks to PrincessShea for the ebay source!) and the sample of the freeze dried petals.

I was really hesitant of the petals but they were better than I expected. When we first got them, they were "crunchy" and looked stale. By just breathing hot air on them for a couple of minutes they have already softened and the smell is amazing. For around $25-$26, we can get 15 cups (I'm not sure how many cups are actually needed, will have to ask Disney Floral that).

Esty's parents are coming to visit next weekend and I think we'll be shopping for the MIL dress. Below is my mom and her dress!

Oh I love Etsy.com! I found a great lady who makes cufflinks and was able to custom order a pair for Esty's tux

The image is the xbox globe, which I thought was appropriate because it's how we met and he luuuvvs his xbox :lovestruc

cute tee shirts!! I love the cuff links too. It's so great when you can personalize them to your guy. I am actually getting my fiance cuff links too from an Etsy seller that uses vintage maps to make them!

Oh I bought some of those same rhinestone designs!! They just arrived this week! i bought the carriage and Disney Bride. I also got a few Mickey heads and then Maid of Honor and Mother of the Bride (from a different seller). YAY!!!

Thanks! I think he'll get a bigger kick out of them then just something with his initials. What maps are you using?

the shirts look great! cute:goodvibes

Thanks!

Did you iron on the designs yourself or get them already completed? I'm not sure which path I'm going to take yet. I might have to get some for my mom and his mom too...didn't think of that

My moh and I are doing them ourselves. We did similar shirts last year so I think we can handle it...I'll let you know when they are done! We are probably doing them this week/weekend:thumbsup2

I am going to use the maps of where we met in college (Raleigh, NC) and where we're getting married (Orlando!). Here's a picture from the Etsy seller I'm using:

I just actually have to buy them now...they are expensive suckers! :headache:

I love the idea to customize cuff links, I would have never thought of that! Your mom's dress is really pretty. It complements everything else very nicely!

If I can ask how much did she charge you, the lady I went through was 24.99 (around 30 with shipping).

the cuff links are made by Ann Holeman (etsy shop:http://www.etsy.com/shop/AnneHolman). She's charges $105 for the pair :scared1: But they are really the best looking pair of custom vintage map cuff links I've found. So I might just go ahead and get them.

I am joining in..I first have to say Congrats and that all or your ideas are great, you look absolutely beautiful in your dress, and I would have never had thought about the colored shoes but I love it and am starting to think about doing that...I will be following your PJ as I am planning on doing SBP in Feb 2011 (not sure of the day yet)...

Thank you for passing on the link where you got your Disney necklace and earrings from (for your bridesmaids)

I ordered one a couple of weeks back and received it within a week. Very happy with it and what good price too!

Much appreciated, you have really helped me out.

Enjoy my mad rantings!

I received the pair I ordered and while I *like* them, I'm definitely not in love. You do get what you pay for. But knowing that he will only be wearing them for a couple of hours tops, I'm okay with that (especially since I'm buying him a new xbox in a couple of weeks...$400, ouch)

I was really hesitant on buying from her, especially on ebay AND in HK, but both times she has been amazing.

Haven't posted in a while so I thought I would check in:

Still frantically waiting for Disney to post their dates for the MVMCP. DisneyWorld.com has "late spring," whenever that may be. If that comes after April, I'll just put a deposit down for one of our four possible dates, and keep checking in.

Due to the lovely snow, the DF's parents didn't come up after all. They were going to postpone it until March but I suggested they wait until April/May until we can talk specifics with dates.

We're now looking at some kind of "party" for the day before. I really want to take everyone to HS for the Osbourne Lights Show so maybe a dinner at one of the restaurants there. The morning after, we're going to host a brunch at the Cape May Cafe and from there, we'll see what people's schedules are going to be.

I posted a thread on the main Disboard wedding site regarding how many dances we have in an Escape C/C "reception." So far these are the songs we have chosen (we're going to bring our own ipod/cd player"

Mother’s Entrance: Canon in D (Sally Fletcher)
My Entrance: Clocks (Coldplay)
First Kiss/Exit: Strawberry Swing (Coldplay)

Cake Cutting: Lovers In Japan (Coldplay)
First Dance: Yellow (Coldplay)
Father/Daughter Dance: Across the Universe (Rufus Wainwright)
Mother/Son Dance: ?? (not even sure if there is one)

If you couldn't tell, we're big Coldplay fans. It's kind of a joke between us as we have almost everything in common, except music. Coldplay is probably one of the only bands we both like.

We're still going back and forth on if we will have a character or two, so that might change the music set up...we'll see how that goes.

Well now I'm starting to second and third guess myself on some items:

Because I transfered jobs, I had the ability to cash out my 401k. After Uncle Sam took out his share, I'll have been 8-10k. When I started planning, I wasn't expected this to drop into our laps - I was expecting to use our tax and my teaching money. This definitely makes the planning a bit more interesting:

A few things are are talking about adding/changing:

The possibility of having the MK/Epcot photoshoot
Having at least Donald (and Daisy) at the wedding is a definite!
Using the Rolls Royce, I think my dad will get a kick out of it
Staying at the Boardwalk the entire time - less aggravation of transporting

Either way we'll eventually do a photoshoot (if not this time, in the future - we'll have the annual passes, might as well get some use out of them!) but if we can do it now...why not!

Only 5-6 more weeks until we can pick our date, please Disney...put up your MVMCP dates soon!

I love seeing all the pictures of Patricia LeJune and her work...my biggest concern is what can be done with my hair.

Back in 2007, due to a stomach illness I lost most of my hair. I went from big and full and halfway down my back to thing in places and now just touching my shoulders. It's not really short (I can still put it into a small ponytail) so it's short-medium?

I'm fine with just pulling it all back and throwing it under the veil...eh, I dunno...I guess I'm just going to have to make an appointment at a local salon and have them try things and take pictures.

Having all this time to myself is a bad thing...I threw a movie on Netflix and started to work on our vows.

We took a lot of samples from the boards (thank you!) and threw in some nods to how we met (you'll see the Pandora's Box and Xbox references).

4057588294_6b7e4e2a12.jpg

Our gaming organization has a "backstory" about helping Pandora restore hope. This is Pandora's Box from another game that you get when preordering the 3rd game...it's a stretch but it's fun :)
gears-of-war-xbox-360.jpg

The game we were playing when we met. The Locusts are the "bad guys"...

We wanted to do something different in our small ceremony. We weren't into readers, the sand or candle ceremony. After almost losing my father last summer, we thought of throwing in a nod to our parents in a "VR" kinda way.
We haven't picked a rev. yet so we may be told to cut this down...but I think it will fit in a 10-15 min ceremony

Here is it...in all it's glory (so far):

INTRO
We are gathered here today, in a surrounding where dreams come true, to share one of the happiest moments in the lives of Estevan and Kerry, as they are about to become husband and wife. I welcome you here on this most joyous occasion in order that you may share with them the pledging of their everlasting love and commitment for one another. They are delighted you have chosen to share this very special time in their life.

MAIN BODY
The mood of this wedding is one of magic, of joy, of love. You are here to celebrate, how wonderful it is that two people found each other and how delightful it feels to love another as much as these two do.

Love is a miraculous gift, and a wedding is a celebration of that magic and that is why we are here today. We are gathered together, family and friends to be overjoyed for and with Estevan and Kerry, who are so wonderfully suited to one another, that it is pure delight for the rest of us to see just how happy two people can be.

A good marriage is dependent on many factors, but the first prerequisite is a strong bond of love, friendship, and respect for one another. Your love will grow deeper with the passing of each day. Marriage offers the greatest challenges to overcome, but in return, marriage gives us love, strength and support from one another. For a marriage to remain strong your faith must never waiver due to the trials and tribulations of everyday life.

VOWS

And so it is, the two of you, Estevan and Kerry, have come here today with your family and friends, the people you most cherish, to signify your desire to be united in marriage.

I ask that you face each other and join hands.

Estevan, please repeat after me

“From this day on, I Estevan, choose you Kerry to be my wife. To live with you and laugh with you. To stand by your side and sleep in your arms. To always listen to you, to labor with you and encourage you. To bring out the best in you always, and, for you, to be the most that I can. All that I am and all that I have. All that I have been and that I shall be, I share with you from this day forward. I promise to love you and stand beside you. In the only way I know how. Completely and for eternity.”

Do you Estevan, promise always to love, and adore Kerry, in good times and in bad. To enjoy her, console her, delight her and astound her. To work together to build your love, to speak openly and honestly, and maintain the respect and trust that has grown between you. To give thanks to her always, and to die with this love that you have for her.

“I Do”

Kerry, please repeat after me

“from this day on, I Kerry, choose you Estevan to be my husband.

Do you Kerry, promise always to love , and adore Estevan, in good times and in bad. To enjoy him, console him, delight him and astound him. To work together to build your love, to speak openly and honestly, and maintain the respect and trust that has grown between you. To give thanks to him always, and to die with this love that you have for him.

“I Do”

EXCHANGING OF THE RINGS

I’ve been told that here in Pandora’s Box hold the rings for Estevan and Kerry, will you two open this box – knowing that throughout your lives together you will face tough times, but always remaining is hope.

The wedding ring is an unbroken circle, which symbolizes unending and everlasting love, and is a visible symbol which represents your inner commitment to one another.
Estevan, will you place this ring on Kerry’s finger and repeat after me:

“this ring is my precious gift to you, as a sign that from this day forward, your every breath shall be surrounded by my love.”

Kerry, will you place this ring on Estevan’s finger and repeat after me:

“this ring is my precious gift to you, as a sign that from this day forward, your every breath shall be surrounded by my love.”

PARENTS’ VOW RENEWAL

Love is a temporary madness; it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out, whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the emotion of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.

Frank and Dorinda (my parents), Hector and Elma (his parents), will you please stand:

You four have set an example for Estevan and Kerry on how to make a marriage successful through all of life’s trials and tribulations. At this time, Estevan and Kerry have asked for you to renew your vows as they have just taken theirs.

When you married (# & #) years ago you had no idea what life had in store for you. Your togetherness as husband and wife, at times, may have been under difficult circumstances. Your circumstances may have required great faith, but your faith has found you steadfast and its now brings you to this point in your life where you joyfully reaffirm your love for one another.

We would like to take a moment to bless the hands of Frank and Dorinda/Hector and Elma. For it is through these hands that you have demonstrated your love and commitment to one another.

Please face each other and join both hands so that we may bless them.

These are the hands of your best friend, strong and full of love for you.

They are being held by yours as you two renew the promise to love each other for the rest of your lives.

These are the hands that will continue to work alongside yours as together you two build a future and share your innermost secrets and dreams.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other.

These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief threatens to overwhelm you.

These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes, tears of sorrow and tears of joy.

These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one.

These are the hands that will be there to give you strength when you need it the most.

And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

Frank/Hector, please kiss your beautiful wife.

CONCLUSION

By virtue of the authority vested in me, and in conformity with the laws of the State of Florida, and through Walt Disney and all of his magic, I now pronounce you husband and wife. What Gears of War has brought together, let no Locust separate.

Estevan and Kerry, go into the world and fulfill your lives. Give to one another new experiences of joy. Challenge one another so that you may grow. May the love that you have for one another, now sealed in marriage, continue to deepen and flourish so that your lives together may be a source of comfort, strength and inspiration. May your lives together be a never-ending fairy tale.

Estevan, you may kiss your beautiful wife.

Ladies and gentlemen, with the greatest of pleasure I present to you for the first time, as husband and wife, Estevan G. and Kerry H-G.
