Kerry & Esty - 12/7/10- SBP/MVMCP (Rev Issues)

The invitation process has begun! I've started recruiting some of our friends familiar with photoshop to help us with the outer sleeves for our game cases. Our local GameStop was awesome enough to give us some gamecases for free (unfortunately, some where damaged so I'll have to see if I can weasel some more out of them!)

While we ordered the samples from PaperandMore.com, I think CardsandPockets.com might be better so we can have everything precut and their minimum order is 10, which is just perfect for us.

Dad's rehab was delayed one week but he has been up walking on the training "leg" so it's a great thing. Once he is home and settled, I'll take my mom out for some dress shopping.

While out, we ran to our local dollar store and I already bought the baskets for the Welcome Baskets and got some ideas of what to put in them (the toy section is great for little Disney things!) We laughed that if every time we go to that shopping center I spend $10 bucks, we'll have everything we need before we even have the reservation down. :rotfl:

Once we find the digital camera (or buy a new one), I'll start taking pictures of things as they are purchased/delivered :cool2:

Well my students are back in session (I'm a college professor at night, and an accountant during the day) so I'm off to start grading papers...*ugh*

Just found a great site for our wedding party presents from magicalmemoriesstore.com

For the Best Men

For the Maid & Matron of Honor

For the Parents

At 2am, I couldn't sleep so I calculated some hotels. I think we are going to go with the Pop Century for the days leading up to the wedding and the day of/rest of the week, we are going with the Boardwalk Inn. It actually calculates to the same as if we would have stayed at the Coranado Springs, where we originally planned to stay.

Because the week in Disney will be fast pace and a lot of the time spent with family/friends, we're actually looking to have a full fledged DisneyMoon in 2011 at DisneyLand. With all my years going to WDW, I've never visited DL!

Tomorrow or Friday, the wedding planner is supposed to call me back (I guess our previous one is "no longer in the department") so we can go over details without confirming the date - the 8 month wait is driving me nuts! :headache:

Cute gifts!! And I like your plans for the hotel. We are splitting our stay up too and ending at the Boardwalk. I love it there!!!

Had a nice little chat with Bill, our wedding planner. We're pencilled in for Dec 7, hopefully Disney will post their MVMCP's before April. Bill was able to answer a big question for us. I had read that if we use an outside photographer, we lose the DPS package and they do not transfer the alloted funds. Bill said that we can have both photographers, they will just work together during the ceremony. :cool1:

Woah, that's a pretty major development that they are allowing that now. Brides have been vehemently told no before. Are you sure Bill is your wedding planner/coordinator and not just a secretary type; because I know sometimes it isn't always correct when you talk to people before you sign a contract and get an official planner.

Yes, I had this same question and my coordinator answered it for me. We will be able to have both photographers and we will just get the 20 photos in the album from DPS. :goodvibes

After what I had read/heard, I was definitely surprised as well. Bill's title is "Senior Wedding Consultant", so I'm not sure if that is a pretty way to say sales person or not. Either way I'll be getting the policy in writing! :cool2:

Just got home after spending two hours at a dress store and everything went great. The dress I originally posted wasn't *the one* but I found two others that did. While looking at the website to find pictures to post, I found out that the one dress I liked as #1 doesn't come in the colors the sales people told us it did (we were told it had blue detailing, and it only comes in red and black.)

Below is a picture of the #2 dress, but the picture online of it is horrible. It's definitely more than I wanted to spend for only being in the dress for two hours. My sister, mother and I will be heading back on Saturday. :headache:

So my DF (and I type that with gritted teeth) just informed me that his parents would "really like" their parents and two siblings to attend. We were already at 17 total people so now I need to to call Disney and see if I can even pay the extra $500 for the extra people or do I need to switch back to the GFWP AND pay the extra $500.

While I appreciate this being asked 11 months in advance....we've been up front from the start that this was going to be a very small wedding especially since we are paying for it.

Add this on top of budget/preparing for year end closing/audits...it's time for me to pull out the sugar free red bull :surfweb:

Side note - Dad entered rehab today (it was delayed due to the weather) and he's up walking

We are having a similar issue. My DF's Aunt lives near Orlando and thinks because of her location she will be allowed to come. We are paying for it ourselves as well and simply can’t afford for all of our aunts and uncles to come. We have explained to her numerous times that it’s going to be immediate families only, but to no avail she is still going to show up. You are nicer than I am and actually accommodating, we are planning on having Disney through her out if she shows up! :rotfl:Yay for your Dad’s walking!! :yay:

Sorta comforting that it's not just my family (or future family)...

Bill with Disney emailed me back super quick and said that I can keep the SBP and pay the $500. The FIL stated they will pay all the extras to have their family there because they know things are tight and they threw this on us.

It's basically going to be around $1200 to cover the extras we would be paying to have his family just for the actual day. It doesn't cover the extra flowers for the grandmothers & grandfather, the extra favors, invitation, welcome baskets...but what can we do (and how do you invoice your future in laws)? It's 11 months away, so we're putting every extra cent we have into our wedding savings account. I just hope the university keeps giving me classes...if not, it will be a year and 11 months away :headache:

The dress has been purchased!

After trying on 15 dresses, narrowing it down to 5, it took about 30 minutes of switching between two dresses to finally decide. The picture we took didn't come out that great (we didn't have it all tied up in the back) so I'll be heading back to my secret storage facility (aka my parents house) and take a better picture. One big thing, we already had a veil in the family so that is covered (and it covers my "old" requirement). Of course the dress was discontinued and a size too big so it will need some alternations, but at least it's all purchased!

Definitely not me, but it's a picture!

We also decided on the invitations - we're going to use http://www.etsy.com/shop/SomerStudios. It's just what we want (the blue square invitation) and I know I just don't have the creativity and the patience to do all the printing myself.

Family is pressing for details on the exact date, really wishing we could give it to them but we're just under three months from the deposit.

Might stop at a couple of stores to start buying little things - at least it makes me feel productive :cutie:

After waiting about an hour for the USPS to locate our package, the jewelry for the MoHs and myself is finally here

For me!

Hi Kerry! Congratulations on the engagement and wedding planning! Your story is so cute! Also, I am glad to hear your father is doing well. It will be a very special moment when he walks you down the aisle. I LOVE your dress and the blue mickey jewelry! Can't wait to hear more planning!

YAY for buying a dress! You definitely need to take pics of YOU in it!!

I hope to this weekend! I have a picture of just the corset top but without the whole picture it looks strange of just my torso.

Thanks! Dad will be released on Friday and he's fully on a walker/cane now. He's already talking about getting a new suit and what shoes he'll wear!

My sister found a great site for flowers, all they need is a little Disney sparkle...

navyRoseHandtie36BIG.jpg

3 dozen roses (my bouquet, but with a silver ribbon) - $29.99

navyRoseHandtie24BIG.jpg

2 dozen roses (for the MoH, again a silver ribbon) - $19.99

navyRoseCorsageBIG.jpg

Mother/Grandmother Corsages - $8.99 (will need 3 or 4)

navyRoseBoutBIG.jpg

For the guys - $5.99 (will need 5 or 6)

Total damage (before adding some little sparkles here and there): 131.97 (before shipping)

When just the bride's bouquet can cost that much, I'm pretty happy!

Wow that's a really great deal on the flowers, and I really like them. I might have to check that site out. I am planning on making my own bouquets. I just can't imagine spending over $100pp on bouquets that will only last a few days.

So I found out today that work owed me $80 so I decided to put that to good use and hit my local Dollar Tree (if you want Disney trinkets, that is the perfect place!)

I finished up the shopping for the Welcome Baskets, except for the specific info of dates/times & water/snacks we'll get down there. Because we're using the Etsy.com site for invitations, we're going to use the xbox 360 containers as the center piece for the welcome baskets and have the important info as the "manual."

For the outside of the gamebox. We'll be changing the "You're Invited" to "Kerry & Esty's Wedding" and some little details, such as the date in the barcode.

Here's a picture of the "goodies". The tiaras and wands are for me and my MoH's (We are 25, 29 and 40 lol)
