Kate's Back on Track Journal - comments welcome

You must've had a blast at Mammoth Cave with your family. We always had s'mores when we went up to North Carolina or TN to rent a cabin. After the kids went to bed I'd always make another one for me!

I feel stuck this month too and its definately NOT how I planned it. Dh keeps hoving over me trying to reassure himself that I'm not done losing weight. Its been a tough month - I think we should banish April from the calendar next year. We will get on track. You've lost a lot of weight already. :cheer2: It took a lot of planning and hard work. You will get back on track.

Amy, the candy is GONE now. I went in Walgreens yesterday, for a legitimate reason :goodvibes and didn't even go into the candy aisle!

Jane, Mammoth Cave was great. We'll likely do more camping this summer as I think our vacation plans are being changed due to the horrible gas prices!!!

Kate, I can't believe how bad the gas prices are getting. Thankfully, we are staying in state this year. I'm glad all of our big family vacations are behind us!

Looks like you've been doing great food wise. :cool1: Have a fun weekend!

Yay on resisting Walgreens candy! :cheer2: I'm glad all that evil chocolate is finally gone. I am purposely leaving both kids' baskets on the counter for our BBQ this weekend - hopefully most of it will magically disappear!

I can't even go into Walgreen's around holidays! Just too tempting.

Sounds like you're doing AWESOME!

Hope you have a great weekend.

Julie, thanks for the encouragement! Thank you also for keeping track of the exercise challenge. I think I'll definitely make it this month! :sunny:

Hi Kate,

I read through some of your journal, wow what an inspiration that you lost 50 pounds and have done so well overall maintaining that loss! I can imagine what a struggle that is. Hope I get there someday! Good luck with losing that pesky bit of weight, you can do it. And congrats on staying out of the candy aisle at Walgreens, I almost bought some York peppermint patties there the other day they had on sale. I think they put that stuff on sale to keep us addicted and spending $$$. Have a great weekend and thanks for your kind words on my journal!

Amy

Had a good weekend, good food wise and exercise wise.

DH and I went to a play on Saturday night, very good, and a fun time out.
This is how we celebrated our anniversary this year. Last year WDW, this year, seeing a play! :confused3 :rotfl2:

But we had a good time.

Long day at work today, so have to scoot.
:sunny:

You did great this weekend! Hey, at least you got to spend some quality time with DH, whether it was at WDW or a play, it's the company that counts, right?

Keep it up! :cheer2:

Yes, Amy, we did have a good time, and at least we got to spend an evening together! This past week was awful, with DH working so much overtime, I think he put in over 70 hours last week.

I'm busy this week, end of the month and projects to try to finish, so good thing I finished my exercise challenge early. Won't be doing as much this week. Rainy here today, so I likely won't get to run, but maybe tomorrow will be better. :sunny:

Wow, you're family has been super busy. I'm glad you and dh got to take some time for yourselves on your anniversary. Great job on the eating. Those chilidogs are right up my alley! :thumbsup2

Way to go on the exercise challenge! :cool1:  :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :yay: :woohoo:

Hopefully things will calm down at DH's work. That is a lot of hours! Plus I'm sure it gets your schedule all out of whack. Hang in there! :teeth:

Life is BUSY. :rotfl:

I had a few days of not eating so good, well, awful as a matter of fact. An entrie bag of Fritos and then snacking on cookie dough. URGH.

anyway, back to the clean eating now.

Mine and DH's anniversary was Wednesday, he's still working a lot so we haven't even seen each other much this week! I did get roses and our gift to each other was some new cookware!! :lmao: I know that's not very romantic, but what we needed. We have cast iron skillets, and I'm loving them, even though they're HEAVY, but hey, it's my weight exercise, right?

I also bought a new scale, I had an old one that was not really very accurate, and I was almost afraid of the new one, all digital and more exact, but now it will help keep me going here. It has a memory feature so it will tell me if I'm up or down from the last weigh-in.

Today, I'm taking the girls to the theater to see Hoot, actually dropping them off there, as they got free tickets for a preview showing this morning, then DD 13 has a soccer game at noon.

I have to work some of today, and not sure about tomorrow, though it is supposed to rain here.

well, gotta run for now. :sunny:

I'm glad to hear you are back on track after a couple rough days. I had one last night that involved my old friends Ben and Jerry... :rolleyes1

I almost bought a new scale a couple weekends ago, then DH said "Why do you want a new one, do you think it's going to give you a number you like better?" and I wanted to smack him! I think I would go insane if mine had a memory feature, with all my obsessive weighing and up-down-up-down weights... But I'm glad you got a new one that you like!

You are going to kick butt on May's Exercise Challenge with all the nice spring weather coming up!

Kate, you know you're not alone with the bad eating! For some reason April was really tough - glad May is right around the corner! How do you like your new scale? We'd never owned a scale and I bought one a few months ago - the grocery store's was no longer reliable. Plus, getting on a scale in such a public place can be very humbling! I hate all the gadgets on mine - ds had to come and help me set it up.

My mom swears by her cast iron skillet - be sure you oil it!

May! Finally, we won't be getting anymore really cold weather, or snow, or things like that.

I'm ready to be committed to this exercise/good eating again, no cheating, and ready for SUMMER. :sunny:

WI today, 135.4. Moving in the right direction.

30 minutes walking at lunch, no stopping in the candy section of Walgreen's, so far so good. (It is only May 1) :rotfl:
