We'll just have to see where it goes. I have no idea if they were marketed before they were born, and all that talk will get is this board closed. Both husbands have had trouble keeping jobs, and that means the money on these shows showing their families lives is important.

The only point I was making was, why do these people not pay attention to the stress being on a show has become to other families. Perhaps it's best for all of them to find a way to support what they have, without going public. They all start off as regular moms/dads, and then the trips start, and the public appearances, etc.
I wish TLC would stop putting these on the air, and the parents would just support their kids and not have to worry about TV time.

Kate had a very small house, I have read and I do believe although i don't have proof, but I think she marketed them before they were every born. I do believe that they asked and demanded things. Also, there is no way that believe that Kate would ever down size. She is becoming bigger than life in her own head.

Also Casey has said over and over again that she doesn't care where they live and what they have as long as they are together, that is all that matters. But Kate has to get a huge plot of land and a huge house becuase the kids deserve it. I see a huge difference between the 2.

Also at least the hubby on the quints was working, Jon couldn't keep a job. Sorry but there is just a world of difference. They don't have an entitlement issue where Kate does and I believe always has.

And the last part we can agree on. I will say one more thing. I don't think you can compare I guy who was in building/contracting and going through the real estate crash to a guy that was employed in the IT field and just couldn't keep a job even before the economy went south.

The other hubby just finished his MBA so maybe he will find something with more income, this is the reason he went back and got it from Bailor University.

Yes they are tough, and I can't even begin to imagine how much money it would take to rase those kids. I do know that my nephew raised 8 kids with just him working. They didn't have a big house and they had to share a lot, but they are happy so I guess everything is ok.

But just like Kate, they may need to continue to be on TV to support the kids. I just get a better vibe about them than Jon and Kate, even though I did love Jon and Kate in the beginning, I see a huge difference in them. Kate herself has said that she felt like there was never enough money while she was growing up, so maybe this is why she is like she is. We will have to see how this family turns out.

As far as TLC paying for fixing up the other house, it has been implied at least the way I hear it, that they still have money but they are going through it very quickly.
they seem to have had way more in savings than Kate did, but I think they are older and they were both working and fairly successful before the quints came along.

I gotta say with Kate's kids getting older now...I'm just not seeing the interest in this show. I mean they're all like little people now. No more diapers, bottles and interest in the actual logistics of caring for multiples. I don't see that they are really any more interesting than just a large family with eight kids at this point. I think it just draws more attention to "mom" than anything else...thus the "hoochie mama" attire..

All that drama. Now..she's a mom of eight, with a plastic body and still whiney.. There gonna have to come up with some new drama for this season.

He said it on the show. They went for testing before their first child, and found out he didn't have live ones. They did it again for the quints. I just don't get the point of sharing such private info. I can hear the kids as teens now..I don't have to listen to you, you aren't my father. Maybe not, but I don't get the point..it's not like anyone would have known.

There is nothing to be concerned with, they were an infertile couple that chose to do whatever was necessary to have a family of their own. He is their father since he is the one who will have raised them.

I think it's odd that you take issue with him being honest about not being their biological father but yet you give a pass to most of the stuff that Kate and Jon have aired on the show and in the tabloids etc. What comments will the Gosselin kids sling at their parents and yet it will be justified, all things considered.

I'm not quite sure why you are making this about me, instead of the show, but uh, no I don't give a pass to the G's for the private stuff they have shown of their children or of their divorce. Just because I enjoy watching the kids and I think some of the things said on the show are funny and cute, I never, ever liked the private parts being shown. I hated that the kids saw private stuff about themselves (I was apalled at the bunk bed buying debacle and the gum incident just made me shake my head) their family in the tabloids.

That said, I have no problem with him being honest with his kids, about not being the bio dad, although I would have been sure to tell them when they are at an age to understand, and not chance someone else telling them how they came to be. We have our share of adopted kids in our immediate family, and they know mom and dad aren't their bio parents (they aren't the same nationality, so that was discussed pretty early on). However, I do feel bad that it was talked about on national TV. I just can't see the point. I assume some day they will talk to their children about it, but I don't understand why they made something that to me was so private, part of the show. Maybe you don't think that is a private thing, and that's fine. However, I do.

And you may be very right. The G kids may also have some stuff to sling at their parents. I never said they wouldn't. I expect Mady will have a whole book to write.

I loved those baby turtles on the show this week! OMG! So cute.

I thought it was funny also that the kids were quite during all that and Kate seemed not to be able to hush lol This is what I feel is *strange*--I figure if I was seeing that, I'd have been as excited as she was AND she had a microphone so I'm sure that made us hear her more than normal, but, she seems so excitable about things like the turtles, the dolphins and many other things. But, when it comes to other things, like her new kitchen for example, she shows such little excitement and seems to rein her emotions in.

I know some people will say "she is ungrateful", that's why but I don't buy that. It is just something I wonder about because I am much the same as she has been with things like the turtles and dolphins but am equally excited and emotional about something like the kitchen. I have a DD who shows very little emotion and she's that way most all the time. Is she having fun?? Hmm...yeah, I think so. lol Me? Uh, you know when I'm having fun.

Maybe they're just so amazed and impressed that their infertility journey led them where they are now they feel the need to share their story and potentially give others hope. I have a coworker I barely know who went into major detail about her infertility story one day we happened to be in the lunch area at the same time. She just gave birth to a baby from a donated egg. I was beyond shocked at the lengths and expense she and her husband went through to have a pregnancy that wasn't her biological child. It was such a huge deal to her that she was pregnant she couldn't help telling anyone and everyone the medical details.

It was a segment of the show, not just a short thing. But maybe they didn't want it leaked, and preferred to put it out there. Who knows, maybe that part of the story was interesting enough to TLC for them to give them the show.
I haven't read on any of the boards, where anyone thinks it's terrible that they got their babies that way...just surprised that they shared it on the show.

Not sure what she was promoting on R&K or maybe it was a slow day for real celebrities but her comments about how the kids don't like staying at Jon's were really unnecessary. She just doesn't seem to know when to keep her trap shut. There are follow up pictures on radaronline that are from Sat and show the tups with Jon and his girlfriend having a picnic. Talk about a major backfire to what she said the day before because the kids are smiling, look happy and both Jon and his gf are clearly enjoying themselves too.

Even if it were true (and I'm not saying it is) that is not the type of thing you say in TV interviews. I wonder..does she forget it's not a private talk? Shame on her.
