I've had a major car repair. I originally planned a day at US/IOA which I'm now going to skip (My mom never knew we were going. It was going to be a surprise because she loves Harry Potter, but at $300 for tickets/transportation/food while there for one day it has to go. That's half the car repair). Because I didn't expect to be at WDW that day I had extra TS credits to play with, and I was going to pay for a breakfast out of pocket. I now want to stay to my 8 TS credits and need some help.

Its just my mom and I. We've been to WDW multiple times. My mom loves shows and the characters. She's not a picky eater, but she's not adventurous either. She doesn't like anything spicy. She also likes a TS every day, preferably dinner. My original plans were:

Arrive late on Saturday - no ADR
Sunday - Dinner at Narcoossee's
Monday- Dinner at Biergarten
Tuesday - US/IOA day
Wednesday - Breakfast at Akershaus, late lunch at Le Cellier, La Nouba that evening
Thursday - Dinner at Cape May
Friday - Dinner at Coral Reef
Saturday - Breakfast at Crystal Palace, Dinner at Chef Mickeys
Sunday - early flight home - no ADR

I've already cancelled the Akershaus breakfast, but I added the Hoop De Doo Review for Tuesday. I'm going to cancel Narcoosee's and do a 1TS meal instead. I'm thinking of cancelling both Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's and just not doing any character meals this trip. I'd replace them with a 1TS dinner. If we want to see the characters we'll just have to catch them in the parks. We have plenty of time. I've looked at the menus for the available restaurants and narrowed down my choices to:

Captain's Grill
Grand Floridian Cafe
Nine Dragons
The Turf Club
Kona Cafe

I've never eaten at any of these restaurants and am looking for some feedback. We have park hoppers so we can go anywhere. I'm open to other suggestions too.

Thanks.

We have not eaten at the ones you have listed but we love Ragland Road at DTD and we also love Chef's de France at Epcot.

We did not like Nine Dragons. If you like oriental food, I would suggest Teppan Edo at the Japanese Pavilion. The food is much better than Nine Dragons. If you liked the menu at Kona Cafe, I would also suggest Ohana for dinner.

Arrive late on Saturday - no ADR
Sunday - Dinner at Narcoossee's...you could change this one to Grand Floridian Cafe or 1900 Park Fare to keep your ADR at the Grand Floridian
Monday- Dinner at Biergarten we enjoyed this on our last trip in January
Tuesday - US/IOA day
Wednesday - Breakfast at Akershaus, late lunch at Le Cellier, La Nouba that evening lunch at Le Cellier...fantastic!
Thursday - Dinner at Cape May we did this in January, too. We really liked it!
Friday - Dinner at Coral Reef great atmosphere, but I warn you that the food is very expensive for what you get. We were disappointed in the sub-par food quality and tiny portions for a BIG price.
Saturday - Breakfast at Crystal Palace, Dinner at Chef Mickeys both of these are such fun, perhaps you might want to keep one of them. 2 might be too much in one day.
Sunday - early flight home - no ADR

Captain's Grill Several people in our traveling party had one meal here and and then returned multiple times in the same vacation...they raved about it!
Grand Floridian Cafe
Nine Dragons
The Turf Club
Kona Cafe

Sorry, I haven't been to the others...but I'd like to!

I love O'Hana and would have chosen there, but unfortunately its not available. I'll keep checking though. Teppen Edo also doesn't have any availability.

That's good to know about Captain's Grill. We're on the dining plan (for free) so fortunately we don't have to worry about the cost. I just need to stay to the 8 TS credits.

Of the news places you're considering, I've only been to Kona and Turf Club. I liked both, preferring Turf Club a bit more due to the very laid back atmosphere and quieter location.

I don't think you could wrong with either of those two.
