Just when I though Genie Plus could not get worse

I just read over the new revised Genie plus (aka FP+) system. I think it stinks - especially if the prices stay the same. Paying more for less. I was not a big fan of Genie plus - but you could at least make it work and get some decent rides if planned. Now it is pay for one good ride, pay extra for premier, and the rest are all second tier rides. Am I the only one not happy??

I don't think the new multi-pass/single-pass is necessarily a downgrade...

You can buy ahead of time (don't have to stay up past midnight!) , choose actual times, get more of an advantage if staying onsite, and can choose 3 rides up front and then more once you start using.

The only time I would argue it could be worse is if you were an evening stacker of more than 3 reservations. Even now you can book 1 early and 2 later and keep using 1 throughout the day and have 2 stacked for the evening or just stack 3 for the evening.

I am confused. I understand that there are some popular rides that you buy individually. My understanding is that the remaining rides are separated into two tiers like FP+ used to be and have similar restrictions as far as how many tier one rides you can book vs how many tier two rides you can book. Both systems allow three bookings initially and then booking one at a time as available, right? The new system is just a paid FP+, isn’t it? Am I not understanding it correctly?

I won’t be paying for LLMP anyway since most of my trips are solo and I don’t spend a lot of hours per day in the park. I simply wouldn’t get enough value out of it to make it worthwhile for me personally. I would need to be there from open to close to get the full value. I used to book my three FP+ in advance, and that was all I would ride most days, but I didn’t have to worry about the value back then.

It's a downgrade. With G+ you could select multiple tier 1 rides in a day. With LLMP you're limited to 1. They want you in the parks for more days for more money. From a business standpoint it's brilliant. Consumer standpoint it stinks bad. It's just like the old FP+ system. Where the advantage was booking the rides that you want furthest days/end of trip out and work your way backwards.

At least with G+ there was a multi-park pass for those with hoppers. LLMP takes that away too according to the article.

From what I've read you can go on multiple tier 1 rides, you just have to use one of your 3 booked rides first. It it limited to riding each ride only one time like genie+ though I believe.

And you can park hop with it, but you can't make your original 3 selections at more than 1 park...
At that point there are no more tier 1 rides. It is basically paying for FP+ (you could park hop with genie plus too) It is a downgrade. It is not worth the price.

It is a downgrade. with Genie plus you could stack multiple tier 1 rides. Genie plus was not worth it for the tier 2 rides. I will never buy this. I will purchase LL - otherwise it totally stinks. Major downgrade. My love affair with disney, is slowing dying.

I'm actually quite happy with it.
I always liked FP+ and this gives the added benefit of booking one more at a time after you use your first one.
I think this will encourage people to spread the advanced ones throughout the day which really helps the overall flow since we all know that most of the time people would try to make them for the first 3 hours of park opening so they could start booking more for the rest of the day.

I also like the advanced booking.

I guess you're going to have people that love or hate something no matter what it is.

I’m willing to give it a chance, I’m lucky I don’t have a trip until the end of September. By then the kinks should be worked out. I loved the old FP+, I was an expert at “pound the app”, which was keep hitting modify at the park and additional tier 1 would pop up.

I really liked Genie+ - LLMP will depend on how early you can book rides so you can continue to book once you use. Also, depends on what is available to book day off especially as the day progresses. It was nice to rope drop and not have to use Genie+ with the low wait times and then stack the Genie rides for later. We always had great trips using Genie+.

We don't know when all the Tier 1 rides will be gone. It is very unlikely they will all be gone at park opening. You can only pre-book one of them. And with Genie+, the top rides sometimes became unavailable too before you could book them all. There were many days when Remy, Frozen Ever After, and Test Track were all gone by four hours after park opening. There were some days they were all gone by two hours after park opening. Admittedly, LLMP will not work as well as Genie+ for those who liked to stack rides and not arrive at the park until late. But it doesn't mean most people will be unable to get more than one Tier 1 ride. For some people Genie+ worked better for how they toured. For others, LLMP will be better.

Edit: added sometimes

With Genie+, you could book one tier 1 ride at 7am. Then try to get another one once you had badged in to the first or after the 2 hour window.

How is that any better than LLMP?

We have literally zero clue what the tier 1 availability will be after the initial LLMP is used. If it sucks, then I will agree with you that Genie+ was better, but not until we know for sure what the subsequent availability is.

Genie plus did not have tiers. You would book then either swipe to use or wait two hours. Now you can book three rides, 1 desirable, the other two meh, but you have to use all three before you can book another. Just like FP plus, tier one rides go fast. We Never got more than one tier 1 ride per day with fp plus.

No, you do not have to use all three pre-booked rides before you can book another. You can book another after redeeming your first one.

No, it has been confirmed you only need to use 1. If your first lightening lane starts at 9 and you scan in at 9:01 and 15 seconds, you can then book another lightening lane immediately.

People will setup their 3 selections as soon as possible time wise to get more 1 tier selections sooner which will clear out 1 tier selections way sooner than G+ ever did.

At least with G+ you were still able to get multiple 1 tier selections throughout the day because it was more of a leveled playing field. FP+ it was difficult to do.
