Just when I though Genie Plus could not get worse

People staying at deluxe hotels don't have any advantage over any other on-site hotel. If you're staying on property you can book 7 days in advance.
Yeah I just noticed that. I was reading real fast at work and thought I read deluxe hotels. I’m going to edit my post :)

I have been going to Disney for 20 years. I have used many of the skip the ride systems. Every time one is released there’s a lot of doom and gloom but they all end up being fine.

I hated OG FP. Splitting up and Running around and like crazy trying to get paper passes.

FP+ I was very happy when it started. I mostly booked our 3 for our PM park and never pulled extras.

G+ I wasn’t thrilled about but it ended up working great for us. I could get us 6-8 a day easily in MK and DHS.

LLMP I wasn’t thrilled either since I got into really liking stacking with G+ and I finally knew the system. But today I booked my daughter’s LLMP at DHS and was able to get her every ride at the park by 3 pm today. The only time I refreshed was for SDD.

So in true Disney change fashion it all works out in the end. As time goes on people will figure out the kinks and Disney will most likely tweak it and everything will be fine.

I'm sure there will be hiccups with it and we'll have to adapt strategies but I'm truly thankful for the ability to book them in advance of our trip. It was highly annoying to have to be refreshing at 7am when we're on vacation to get the best passes. Letting us book them a week out will allow for a bit more relaxed morning.

This is how I feel too. We're not morning people. I like to do a couple earlier mornings on our trip, but mostly we'd prefer to stay out later and sleep in a little. I hated having to get up early every day of my last trip. I get up early 5 days a week for work, I like to sleep in on vacation. This will make things much easier for us!

We only did one short trip during the Genie+ era. It was when Genie+ was fairly new and the eventual tweaks hadn't taken place and it was awful for us (super-seasoned FP+ users!). On our DHS day by 2pm, there was nothing left and stand-by for any worthwhile rides was outrageous. We sat down and my 20-somethings continually refreshed their phones to see if anything would pop up. As they did this, I looked around. There were DOZENS of people just sitting or standing, doing the same thing! Hello Disney! ....... when your guests are standing in place and performing work on their phones, they're not spending any $$ in your park! no eating or shopping!
So I am SO GLAD I never invested any time/energy into learning the in's and outs of Genie+ and I'm ready to embrace LLMP because it seems more familiar (being so close to FP+). I feel like a Disney Rip Van Winkle who slept through the Genie+ Era!! I know it happened but I didn't really experience it.
I'm watching and reading things about this new system with the thought that there will be tweaks to this system too. I hope they're in place and things are made more efficient by late Sept. :)

I'm actually quite happy with it.
I always liked FP+ and this gives the added benefit of booking one more at a time after you use your first one.
I think this will encourage people to spread the advanced ones throughout the day which really helps the overall flow since we all know that most of the time people would try to make them for the first 3 hours of park opening so they could start booking more for the rest of the day.

I also like the advanced booking.

I guess you're going to have people that love or hate something no matter what it is.
I like everything but the price for something that used to be free

Right?!
Had they just kept Maxpass at DLR and rolled it out at WDW those prices were reasonable and then they could have just switched it back to FP+ and kept the prices.
Instead they had to change things to beyond recognition and charge way too much and then they couldn't just lower the price after essentially reverting back to FP+.
The only price that KILLS me is ROTR. Its $22 no matter what day and to me that's just nuts.

I am shocked that SDD is not an SPLL/ILL. This was surprising to me back in January during our last visit.

It seems, except for MK, they now only want one SPLL per park. At the beginning, they did have two, but the other one was, surprisingly, was MMRR.

They really should just make it an even playing field and not have SPLL especially when some parks still don't have the amount of attractions they should to have one of them cost more than a MPLL.
Just make it an even $30 per day and include everything and stop with the date based pricing crap.

At least you are American. I am coming from Europe in 2 weeks and wont be allowed to prebook anything
Are you not going to try one of the workarounds being touted? Such as .......

For those struggling on iPhone with accessing Lighning lane multipass etc from UK

  • Turn off Location services in your iphone settings
  • Turn on Aeroplane mode
  • Keep Wifi on also
  • Use a VPN selecting a US location
You also need to change some settings in your My Disney Experience App

  • Press the 3 lines bottom right
  • scroll down to my profile
  • account settings
  • country of residence
  • Change to United States
  • Click Done
After this close down the app, log in again and fingers crossed it should work for you

Crazy, isn't it. Alternatively, save your money, put away the phone, enjoy the park and enjoy the spontaneity.

This will likely be our plan! I was all prepped and finally was going to break down and use G+ next month and then this happens. Unless more LL drops happen, I’m. It goi g to pay to have just 3 rides using LL. I’ll save the cash and do standby. And we’ll likely let our APs lapse.

What happens if people reserve a Genie+ ride and then that ride is down and you can't ride it? Are you allowed to get your money back or do they switch you to a ride that is working? What I think Walt Disney World is doing with Genie+ is trying to revive the paying for each ride that Walt Disney World as well as Disneyland had in 1955 until 1982. And by grouping each ride by tier for Genie+ doesn't work for people. I agree that Genie+ has got to be the worst invention Disney Parks have made and what it sounds like to me is another expensive way for people to add to vacations. And what Walt Disney World should do is have ticket machines in all parks where people can get tickets easily and how this machine would work is people would select the ride that they choose to ride via touchscreen add how people in the party are riding and if the ride is working a ding will be heard and the ticket will come out but if a ride is down you will hear a buzzer and a message saying "SORRY THE SELECTED RIDE IS NOT WORKING AT THIS TIME THANK YOU" and these machines would be a marvelous invention for Walt Disney World and would help people a lot

Can we switch parks after already paid? Do I cancel the three and then it will let me reselect from a different park? I paid for MK but we are thinking of doing Epcot instead. We won’t be stepping foot into MK today, so not tapping in at all. I don’t know what is the best way to at least book something in Epcot that I prepaid for this…

Our experiences at DL & WDW was if you’re evacuated from a ride, you were given a multi experience LL with limited ride selection or to return to that specific down ride. Use anytime expires that day.

If a ride was down 5 minutes after your return window time, it would automatically drops a multi-experience LL to return for that ride or a limited ride selection.
Use anytime expires day.

With LLSP if ride is down, LLSP lasts for the day. If it can’t be used due to ride down you can get a refund.

Current LLMP setup almost like Genie+ just advance reservations.

What happens if people reserve a Genie+ ride and then that ride is down and you can't ride it? Are you allowed to get your money back or do they switch you to a ride that is working?
