LEAVING IN 5 DAYS:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

So just take it with u .... have a great cruise ....u will see for the next one ... live and learn..... Peter

Ok. After carrying all that extra weight, you should burn enough calories to order extra desserts, right?

See, there is a bright side to everything.

We always take more than we think we need and even ended up needing to do laundry! So take it all and have a great time.

Crissyp, I'm one of the rare few who doesn't encourage 'pack light, pack half of what you think you'll need, etc.'

Yes, it's a pain to carry, but I think it's worth it. I'd rather have the temporary inconvenience of lugging the bags and trying to store everything, than regretting 'I should've brought the...'

Have a great cruise!:D

:rotfl:

I'm another one of those that knows that whatever goes in the first time, isn't coming back out until it's unpacked on the ship!!!

Leave it all in there. I've done the unpack half thing-- not for our cruise, and that was one the trip where I wanted everything I decided to leave at home.

I agree, just leave it in there if it makes you feel comfortable. I also WAY overpacked on our first cruise, it didnt really hurt much...especially since we stayed at the Hyatt and they handled our luggage for us. You'll find out what you really need on this trip and pack accordingly next time. Do beware of one thing though, we flew AA and didnt know they had a bag allowance of only 50 lbs., we ended up having to pay an extra $25 because one of our bags was over. I think some of the other airlines have a 70lb limit, but if you fly AA beware!

Here's a challenge: At the end of the cruise, look at how much you DIDN'T WEAR. It'll probably be a sizable amount.

My family of four packed in ONE HUGE SUITCASE for the four-day cruise. We dressed nicely for dinner each night (repeated dinner outfits only once for Palo), and we did not do laundry on the cruise. The one thing I wish I'd had: a light-up alarm clock. We didn't miss a single item of clothing. It's very do-able!

thanks all! Flying Jet Blue and they have a 70 lb limit per bag, so I am sure I'll be ok. I feel better now knowing that I'm not the only one. This is our 1st cruise, so I'm sure I'll learn from the mistakes I'm about to make:teeth:

I also think whoever invented suitcases on wheels should get an award! Makes lugging a big suitcase tolerable!

ws one single tank top - oh and two pairs of socks. And the only reason I didn't wear it was because I was coordinated for once and didnt spill anything on one of the other shirts. On the other hand, I would have been glad to have had another pair of shorts.

On our 7 day cruise coming up in December, I think I'll take the same wardrobe I took this time (Plus the extra pair of shorts) and plan to do a wash. IT was still more than enough luggage for me to manage, even with wheels.

Actually, I wear everything I pack.:teeth:

I have the exact amount of tops, shorts, dresses, shoes etc. organized for everyday, and my suitcases are STILL very heavy.

I'm one of the most UNorganized people in everyday life, except when it comes to packing for DCL!:D

I learned my lesson w/9-yo DD last year. She only wore half of what I packed, so this year, HER suitcase will be lighter. (I hope!)

We'll be luggin' the suitcases...I'm sure I'll overpack. My motto is, "Better to have and not need it, than to not have and need it"! Plus it's always good for my ego when someone says, "Gee, do you have a blah blah blah" and I say, "Why, yeeeees, I do. What color!" ;)

I took the advice to heart and ended up feeling I'd underpacked. You don't NEED a different outfit for dinner every night, but dressing up is so much fun that I wanted to have one. And I spent more time in shorts than I though I would and less time in a suimsuit.

Hey.......that's my "pack all you think you need and take half out" line...LOL... I couldn't get DW and DDs 13 and 11 to buy into that last Nov. for our Eastern sailing.......until......I said, "if you have no more room to bring things there.....how are you going to get those new outfits you buy on the islands back??" It worked!!!!

My DH way overpacks. so he is right therre with you. He even takes several extra pairs of underthings. Now I can see if you are a small child you might need htem but how many times does a grown person wear more than one pair in a day??? :teeth:

denise5374- My husband pretty much just empies all of his drawers into the suitcase when he does his own vacation packing (maybe he does this just to get out of packing, who knows). On the other hand when he packs for his business trips he squeezes his suit and the bare minimum into his shoulder bag. Go figure?!

I have often told my DH the same thing...I think he does it so I will make him do away and then pack for him wehat I want!!
