Just to add more confusion to all the PIN code discussion

Boy this is getting confusing! I have went back and deleted the code in my posts until we find out whats going on. I have received the postcard, I do have a pin code which I did have to give the first time I called. It is for 40% off a room - when I called CRO I had every intention of booking room only's as I felt that was a great deal. The CM said she would see if she could do anything about finding me the code to work with my pin - came back and said she could give me the same discount on a room in a package with dining and park hoppers. She gave me the code for future use in case I wanted to book another room or change anything. When I crunch the numbers my discount is the 40% off the room, I pay regular pricing for the park hoppers and dining; still a great discount. As for VALUE rooms - for any of you that have used any general code in the past they are always listed for Values but you have always been able to use it for all resorts; I really dont think that is the issue. My assumption after reading through some of these posts is that those who have a pin code are able to also apply that pin to a package deal (which benefits DIsney!) but the discount is only on the room portion! So I'm assuming now Disney may revoke the offer made to those without an actual pin?? If they try to revoke the offer to those with a pin I will be REALLY mad, I hope that is not the case.

No, I wouldn't worry Stacey. Disney wouldn't take away what they offered YOU or anyone else with a postcard/email. The rest, well, we will just have to see.

If this is an error then why is Disney still booking reservations using the code....:confused3

I just got off the phone with CRO discussing another issue and asked about existing and upcoming discounts for the fall and late 07. The answer she gave me was that there is absolutely no pins or codes or discounts of any kind available for that time period. If there was, it would be posted on the website. This is all hurting my head. :headache: She also went on to lecture me the dangers of making payments to my trip online. :confused3 Alrighty then.

So congrats and good luck to all who have gotten this discount. I guess I will just hang out with my rack rates and hope for something.

I just spoke to someone at CRO who was probably the nicest and most helpful individual I have spoken to with CRO. When I asked if I had a "code" associated with my name she said yes, checked and it was only good for Jan/Feb. I asked about upcoming codes and she said she was pretty sure some would come out for Fall (we're going in Oct), just to keep checking back with him. She didn't outright say it, but implied it would be a few months before anything came out for that time of the year. She also told me if I went ahead and booked, I could call back if I had a code and have it applied to my reservation. Of course, I didn't make the reservation yet, I'm just going to take my chances for now:) .

I posted this in another thread, but want to make sure others here saw it also

Please Please PLEASE make sure your ressie is ok.I did the exact same thing Friday, got a nice gentleman whose name started with an R(I dont know how much trouble he is now)
anyway he put me on hold twice, about 10 mins each, and said he was able to get the rate for me.Well I told him to go ahead and book it but I would mail in my payment. He gave me a confirmation number, but it seemed odd as it started with an R a only like 6 numbers.I was so excited I didnt pay much attention.Thanked him and did the happy dance.

Well an hour later I called back, I wanted the mailing address in case my confirm didnt come in the mail. The cm acted so weird, asking a MILLION questions about who said what/how much etc.Come to find out my ressie would have been purged from the system that night or there would have been issues at ckeckin!!It showed they owed me money and that I had booked online-hence the r and ths short number. He said I had NO discount pin or otherwise and there was nothing he could do but he was patching me over to guest services as they had questions also.
She told me they couldnt do anything, offered me Pop at full price and told me the prior ressie had been cancelled and that the cm was in trouble.
I started crying-I am a big baby as I saw our trip go up in flames.I told her we couldnt afford full price --thank you anway and hung up.

Two hours later the phone rang and DH got it. He went in the other room and I asssumed it was for him.20 minutes later he came out, hugged and kissed me and handed me a paper. It was a guest services supv. She had gotten the whole story, told dh I had been on the pphone for over 2 hours for the whole thing, and that Disney wanted to help "Make our dreams come true"They offered us a room at Pop for $55.13 a nice including tax
So in the end it all worked out, but like she told my husband, we would have gotten to Florida and saw our ressie gone or when we would have mailed a payment they would have caught it and cancelled it.

Sorry for the long story, just dont want to see anyone get stuck.

Did anyone get a postcard or email with 7 dates for trip discounts. I wonder if our "code" if from that postcard.

We got to try to keep this thread open so that we can update each other if the cancellations start coming.

My understanding is that, that is exactly the case. A few other posters with pin codes found about it when they went to add tickets and dining to their original pin code offer. That is how this thread started I think. A CM told me that the code was connected to a recent postcard pin and was used to enter a package if the recipient wanted to add tickets and dining to the discount pin offer. The pins are "household specific". She went onto say it was not intended to be used without the original postcard pin. She said this to me after speaking with her supervisor.

Again, as we know, it all depends on who you talk to. :sad2: Some people seem to call and call until they get the CM who is willing to tell them what they want to hear.

Time will tell......

In my case this morning, I made one phone call. First I asked the CM if I had a pin attached to my name. The answer was no. Then, I specifically asked if I could use code ... He said hold on and let me check. He came back (it took quite a few minutes) and said yes that is a code for select dates until the end of the year. He knew I didn't have a postcard, email, or pin. The only thing I used was the code. The process took about 30 minutes to complete and I got the 40% room discount and added 1 day base (we're AP holders), and dining. The entire thing saved me a boat load of money and we're in a savanna view room. I did check online later and the ressie shows but is not showing dining. I called back and the CM confirmed that it does include the dining but that the website isn't showing it yet. Now, I didn't call a hundred times and I wasn't deceitful. If Disney pulls this then they pull it and I hope for an AP. Still, I don't think I've done anything underhanded and really hope WDW honors this package rate.

I'm somewhat nervous about it but I was able to apply the code to an 8 night trip in Sept. to POR. It saved us about $500 and includes the dining plan. I will probably call back tomorrow and check on it. My confirmation # is 8 digits. If this doesn't work out, I'll get over it. I've been a little aggravated that some were offered free dining (especially the bounce back offer since we were there last Sept. and would have been happy to book). I know that Disney doesn't owe us anything, but a little reward for those of us who keep going back would feel darn nice! So, I don't feel at all guilty about booking with this code. I also feel that it is up to Disney to get their story straight with their CM's. I specifically asked if it was a general code and was told yes. The CM was very helpful - it made me wonder if some are just too lazy to look for the code. It may sound harsh, but I think most of us have dealt with some CM's at CRO who are not nice and not very helpful. Okay, I know I'm rambling, but this is a stolen moment from my family and just wanted to get all my thoughts down.!

When did you make your call....:confused3

All the Zxx codes are PIN codes. There are "no" room-only discount codes for the general public available at this time. If there were they would be listed here with the Discount info on the site and at Mousesavers.

Time will tell if Disney will honor the ones that got them without having the PIN to match the code.

ruthma - I made the call about 4:30 p.m.

This is what I don't understand...if Disney knows that there is a glitch and that they shouldn't be giving this code to people without a pin, then why are they still doing it?? It was stated in an email very early this morning that supposedly, Disney CRO knew about this. So, why are they still allowing people to book this? This makes me think that they may not revoke the offers. Maybe there is no glitch????

I was one of the lucky ones who called this morning and was told that I could use this code....never asked for a PIN or said anything about it being linked to my name. And, she did get all of my personal info before she quoted the price.

You would think if it was an error they would stop....seems funny to me:banana:

Everybody is saying that Disney is making a mistake taking these reservation, them why are they still going it. doesn't make sense...:confused3

Because you have CMs that truly just don't care or they are totally confused. There are some serious training issues at the DRC with CMs understanding and following policy.

Then you have CMs working that are not even Disney CMs but call center employees and they just don't care.

I hope everyone that got it, gets to keep it because it is not the guest's fault it is Disney.

But when you have some people getting the discount and others being told NO, then you have to realize there is definitely a problem or everyone would be able to book it without any problem; if the code was a general public one.

I really think everyone is making WAYYYYY too much of this. If WDW didn't want some to have the code....they would not honor it. I too was able to book with this code and there is no way I believe that there are that many clueless and ignorant CMs.

I agree...Disney can just fix the computer to not allow this code to be used without the pin#...Believe me they can do it...
