At what point did you say "I'm done"?

I booked the two-day package that includes their version of LLPP, one day in each park, and tacked on a couple of room-only nights on each end. We'll probably meander around Disney Sea the day before the package tickets start.
Good plan! We had only planned for one day at Disney Sea, loved it and found ourselves adding an additional day there later in our Japan trip.

The package was definitely worth for our first trip. Back when we did it though it included the Fantasy Springs pass which was basically unlimited fastpass to any FS rides and yeah.. we took advantage of it. We went on Frozen 6 times and Rapunzel 3 times, Peter Pan 1x in one day just because we could lol. Planning for the first trip was a little overwhelming but after on our second one we managed to make it by without any purchased fast passes and had a blast.

We are at 700 points, our last being added in 2016 and we are done. Quite honestly, it's probably too many points and we may downsize at some point in the future. That said, it's nice to have some leeway for Aulani 2-bedrooms...

Apparently the FS attractions have been added to this, so the entire park will be our oyster. It was not cheap, but this is a celebration trip that was deferred from Spring 2020.

I know I'm odd on this board, but we have one small resale contract. I've considered swapping it for a larger direct contract, but the numbers just never work out. We do 5-7 nights every 12-18 months. We're happy in studios, but the occasional one bedroom is lovely. As tickets gave gotten more expensive we've tended to stay for fewer days, and stretch out the time between visits. It gives me more vacation days to spend elsewhere, and I really don't mind that at all.

This is our perspective! We have a small 100 point resale contract. We would not plan to do more than 5-6 nights per year in a studio at our home resort (BCV) and anticipate that there will be years we want to travel elsewhere (i.e., all-inclusive, cruise, etc) where we will bank points for longer stays or larger villas.

Flights to Orlando are pricey for us, as are park tickets. I feel like we are at a place where we have eliminated consideration of resort cost from upcoming trips, which will make continuing to visit WDW regularly feasible. However, we do still plan to travel other places and do not want to be locked into Disney vacations for the length of our contract.

It’s been about a year since the last impulse add-on and I feel like I am finally done. Hubs was done a long time ago though. Points distribution is roughly 1/3 each at AUL, DLR and WDW.
Currently settled into a nice pattern of weeklong stays in a one-bed in Feb and Sept, and week in hotel room (going with friend so need two real beds) in Nov at AUL. With DLR races on hiatus again, summer pool days, OBB, bday staycation and Xmas (garden studio or one-bed, 3 nights) at DLR, then race weekends (mix of one-bed and studios) in Jan, Feb, Apr and Oct at WDW.
Maybe I will reduce the number of races in a few years. One-bed when hubs and I both travel, and studio when I travel solo.
Really enjoyed our HK trip last fall. So will increase Asian trips to twice a year. HK DLH cash rates seem affordable. 2+ nights at 30% off, and during Black Friday, I got 40% off. Will look into Japan next year.

Maybe now...I don't know. I spend a few years researching DVC before I bought a few resales. When I started buying points, I wanted to end up with about 1000 points. I am close to that now at 800 and am beginning to think about how those points will be used in the "in between years" Our only child is 14 nearing 15, and it feels like pretty soon he will be done with things Disney sooner than he flies the coop.

Where as we used to focus on frequency now its quality and with sports and other activities nearer to home, I see where banking points is going to happen soon. When we are in between his early college years and probably grandchildren I think we may find a contract or two may need to be sold. I hope he will be interested in trips even as an adult as we bought it for him as well as us.

Unless we win the lottery--we're done. We have enough to do a 1bd at Grand Floridian every other year with a little left over to bank. Sometimes we'll only go once every 3 years and borrow from the upcoming year to get a 2 bedroom and travel with family.

While I'd love to have more points, I cannot in good conscience buy anything else when I have no idea how we're going to afford college for the kids!

We have gone the last 3 years but are skipping this year and going next year using 360 points. We have 180 points.

If we decide we missed out, we will go back to every year, and I will look to buy another contract.
