Such a heart warming story. My name is Brittany. Growing up in my small Appalachian town, I had a sweet, elderly neighbor who had a mental disability and could not pronounce Brittany. She always called me Brittlee instead. It stuck with me throughout life because my middle name is Leann so everyone thought it was just a mashup of my two names. I would legally change my name to Brittlee if it wasn’t a hastle. I loved and adored my neighbor dearly and on her deathbed in the nursing home she left me a pair of her socks with her name written in marker from the nursing home staff on the bottom for my birthday. It was all she had to offer and it was the greatest gift I could’ve ever received - besides my nickname, of course. Her name was Lula Belle and I love to speak of her any time I get a chance.
The Bee part is because my last name starts with a B, so my other nicknames are BB/Bumble Bee.
Love the screen name!I've been a reader for a long time and finally just started posting. My avatar will be:

To date, I have 5 Disney themed tattoos and 2 mental health tats. While working on 3 more concepts for tats.
There's always room for 1 more!
AOL! Those were the days.Guess I never saw this. But I am a huge Star Wars Fan. I put this name together back over 20 years ago for my AOL Instant Messenger handle. Been using it ever since. I use it for almost any type of forum or online screen name. I am also part of the 501st Legion Star Wars costuming group so this is almost explicitly how I am known. So when I started here at DISboards then everything of course needed to stay the same.
Still areAOL! Those were the days.
What? It’s still a thing??Still areI’ll admit it. Still have it.
“You’ve got mail”…don’t think I hear that anymore. But yes it still exists. What? It’s still a thing??![]()
That would be the reason I still kept it.“You’ve got mail”…don’t think I hear that anymore. But yes it still exists.
Lol. You and my wife would get along fine. We have 10 indoor cats and multiple outdoor strays that my wife feeds. We moved from Washington state to Florida about a year ago, but in Washington we lived in a very small town, and everyone in town knew that my wife was the one to call whenever a stray cat was found.Mine is pretty self-explanatory. I was the "sucker" that everyone called when they found a stray cat, so have
always had a bunch of them. I have had as many as 6 at one time and no fewer than three since I have been an adult. We only have three right now because Lukey (from my signature) passed away a few months ago and I haven't had the heart to take him off yet. I finally had to put my foot down with my friends and tell them in no uncertain terms that they cannot tell me about strays any more because we would like to travel when we retire in the next 10 years. Obviously we could have pets and still travel but as we found out with our
current "needy" fur babies, it is very hard to travel when you have special needs pets, which our last four have
been. One of our children has to stay at our house when we travel because our three cats require four different medicines, one insulin, and three different foods.
GO HAWKS!!!New England Patriots fan since I was a teenager. Waking up this morning knowing we are rebuilding our dynasty was great. GO PATRIOTS!
