We just returned from our first trip as DVC'ers. We had an AWESOME time and the resort was really amazing. We stayed in a 1br in the Springs and was lucky because we were right beside the bus stop and a quick hop across the street to Artist's Palette. We had no issues with the buses as all, I think the longest wait we had was 10 minutes. Friday and Saturday the crowds got a little heavier.:crowded: But we had a really good time, great weather....It rained our 2nd day for about 3 or 4 hours but temps were great.
We love the AKL and that is our home resort(can't wait for our first stay there in October), so everywhere we go outside of AKV we compare to it. I did not like the way that Artist's Palette was setup. Having AP, souvineir shop, and groceries all through the same check-out just does not make sense to me. :confused3 Caused havoc during busy times. I waited over 15 minutes to pay for some chicken nuggets. I was behind people buying $100 worth of groceries and another buying souvenirs. Am I the only one that thinks the souvenir shop should be seperate? It seems to me that things go a lot smoother at the Mara at AKL. Other than this one thing that really aggrevated me, I really enjoyed our stay. :thumbsup2
We are staying at SSR again in May in a Studio and have already started the countdown and can't wait, we are using dev. points we received from an add-on we just did.

Glad to you had a great trip!

The AP/Gift Shop setup has been discussed many times. Unfortunately, there is not any room to expand or add addition check-outs to AP. I was hoping they would somehow use the extra space in the back hall, off of AP. They did, but not what I was looking for, that is where the photopass center is located now.

I definitely agree about the AP set up.

Thanks for the review. I love SSR so I like hearing good ones. :thumbsup2

We'll be there in about 30 days :cool1:

Thanks for the update, glad you had a great time!

I always thought the AP set up was strange, but they do make some amazing chocolate chip cookies. :thumbsup2

I was hoping that the setup at AP was not just me. I loved the choc chip cookies as well, in fact everything I ate there was awesome. Not a lot to choose from but everything was really good. Loved the pep. flat bread.
