Hi all,
We just returned last night from a 5 day stay at Disney (stayed at HIFS). On Thursday, we went to MGM (my first time there) and I LOVED it! No crowds, no lines, beautiful! Playhouse Disney was awesome! I think I was just as excited as my 3-yr. old :hyper:
Little Mermaid show another awesome show. Ate at the 50's Prime Time Cafe and what an adventure! They screamed for us to come eat lunch when it was our time. The lady next to us did not eat her green beans, so the waiter tried shoving them all in her mouth, but she would not open. So he went and got her sundae and put all those green beans on it! haahha ewwww! You have to get the banana split! big enough to feed a family of 4 and real hot fudge, real everything...so so good!
The parade was the best I've ever seen. Make sure you sit up front, because the characters will come and shake hands with the kids, etc.
Great movie ride was great..so life-like. loved the Wizard of Oz.
My husband and friend rode the Tower or Terrror and told me it wasn't that bad, that I could handle it (i don't do rides) Well, I was confused because some folks were holding their tummies after exiting. Well, I believed them and rode it with my husband and omg it was scary!! They take you up, you see ghosts in the hallways, etc, then darkness, then up and downnnnnnnnn over and over. Faster than the speed of gravity and my butt was off the seat!! I did dry-heave when it stopped! never again hahaha

Friday was Magic Kingdom. The monorails were broken, so we had to ride the ferry to the gates. Mickey's Philarmagic is not to be missed! We were in the second row and wish we were further back, but you can smell the pies, feel the water and wind and it was just great! The Haunted Mansion wasn't much of a biggie. Snow White's Scary Adventure was more scary. ha It was crowded to me, but people were saying it was nothing compared to the usual crowd. The longest we had to stand in line was about 15 minutes and only fastpassed one ride, Pooh's house, but by the time we arrived at our time, there was no line!
Ate at the Crystal Palace and that was the highlight. Great food and the characters really pay attention to the kids. The day parade was not worth waiting for in my opinion. Way too short and just not good compared to the parade at MGM. Wishes was fantastic! They turn all the lights off at the park for it. We sat down on the steps by the Plaza Restaurant by the bridge leading to Tomorrowland. No crowd and perfect, esp when viewing Tinkerbell. I think next time we will be closer to the exit, though, because it was horrible leaving with everyone else!
I wish I were back there.....

Sounds like you had a great time. We are going in June and also staying at HIFS. How was it? Have they already started the construction? Thank you for the report.

It was great. We had reserved a residential suite smoking room and once we checked in to our room in Bldg. 9, we found out it wasn't smoking, so we moved the next morning to Bldg. 2 and the toilet was stopped up in this one, boring compared to the nice family pool view, etc on the east side, so I will never stay on the west side again. hahaha The free breakfast buffet was great, but very crowded. Eat there before 9am and you will beat the crowds. They have a little train that takes kids around the hotel. They say the pools are heated, but the family one was not, only the baby one and the lap one. All in all, i think it was great for the $71/night we spent and I would def stay there again in the East track. :sunny:

We were there this past weekend too. You are right....thursday was dead. We were at epcot and it seemed like we had the place to ourselves. Friday was a little more crowded and then Saturday...BOOM...People explosion!!!! Where did they come from? It reminded me of summer.

Hey Deb, it sounds like we were at the same parks on the same days!!! We were at MGM on Thursday, and MK on Friday. My DD was so disappointed the monorails were broken and we couldn't ride one in the morning. We also ate lunch at the Crystal Palace! It was really nice and I agree that the characters really paid great attention to the kids. Oh, and I'm proud of you for at least trying my favorite ride (ToT)! We made my daughter try it because she loves roller coasters, and we figured she'd like this. Well, we were wrong; she cried through the whole drop sequence! We bought her an "I survived Tower of Terror" t-shirt for at least trying it for us.

Glad we both had a great time!!!!!

Glad to hear you had such a wonderful time!

Did anyone go to Saturday's Spectro? Was it super-crowded? We're planning on AK Saturday the 7th, hopping over to MK for Spectro and I'm wondering if it's worth it? This is the first WDW trip for my kids and though DH and I have been there before we've never seen an evening parade.

LOL that's too funny you were at the same places, same time! What time did you eat at the CP? We were in by 1:45 on Friday! Did you haver the sweet older woman waitress? She was great! She even took my daughter around the parade inside so she could be a part of it. Do you have pics yet? If so, email me at Lovemypresley@aol.com! Maybe i'll recognize you LOL

PS: I really should have bought that tshirt!!!

oh! forgot to tell you I did not notice any construction while there!

Deb,

Our PS was at 12:40 and the time stamp on our last picture taken there was at 2:00, so we were there the same time you were!! How funny! We had never eaten at the Crystal Palace before and all three of us really enjoyed it. We didn't have the same waitress as you, but the man we did have was really great, too. As for the parade, Pooh was in the middle of signing my daughter's book when the music started, so he picked up his sign and started marching. My daughter followed and when it ended, Pooh was swarmed with children wanting to hug him. He wrapped his arms around my daughter and helped guide her through the crowd back to our table. He then stayed a little longer for pictures and more hugs and kisses from her. I thought that was so sweet because even though he was getting mobbed, he wanted to make sure he finished his visit with her. I'll e-mail you a couple of our pictures, and if you recognize us, I'll be really impressed!:) And, yes, you should have bought that t-shirt! It's a big accomplishment!

Kari
