Just Received Post Card with Code

Hi guys - I just got off the phone with my TA because I got not 1 but 2 postcards in the mail so I thought I'd see what I could save, and here's what I got. SInce I'm already booked at the Pop for 5 days on a package that includes parkhopper passes, I could cancel out my existing booking, re-book at the $59 per night, lose the insurance I've already paid which is non-refundable, I'd also have to re-purchase the park-hopper passes when we got there, and all this to save under $200. Which, when the $70 non-refundable insurance is factored in, it would be a savings of just a shadow over $100. Not worth it. Now, since we're scheduled to go to the CR for 5 days on the dining plan, I'd lose the dining plan all together, and it would cost me MORE for dining out of pocket than any savings gained for re-booking with the postcard. However, when I booked the CR for the free DDP I had to pay for one night's stay in advance. I did manage to save $98 off that one night's stay using the PIN # on the postcard. So, all told, I saved $98, which they will refund by check, so IMHO there's $98 to put towards souvies, so they're getting their money back any way and I saved zip!!!

I feel your pain. i wanted a discount so bad and i finally get one for my dates and it doesn't look like I can use it. it's so stupid that Disney doesn't want to let us book it as a package.

What's with the 1971 thing? I called to see if I had a PIN (arriving 2 nights before free dining) and of course no go. The CM says "so I see the last time you were here was in 1971." I said no -- I was barely walking then... Maybe I should have said yes!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I just kept saying to the CM, "but why doesn't Disney want more money from me?" lol

I think we actually might forgo the discount for the DDP. How's that for fuzzy disney math?

I've done that math too. I have a package booked with paid dining for 8/20 to 8/30 with a AAA TA to get the AAA discount on the room. I figured I would save an extra $25/night by booking a room only with AP discount but decided I would be better off with DDP. So I'm really paying about $135/day for my family of 5.

Cepmom, We are goig mid August and missed out on everything too! I can't believe with ALL the different options out there...40%,Free dining,Bounce back...etc we couldn't get one discount! It kills me to know that so many people around us (bounceback and UK) will be eating for free while we pay. Oh well we did free dining last year..I guess I have sour grapes!! Congrats to all who have recieved some kind of discount. I guess it is only fair to spread the magic around a little!

Not that this will make you feel any better but imagine how I feel. I was at WDW in December. I took my DS on a whirlwind 3 night trip and we splurged on concierge at the Contemporary. None of the CM's mentioned the bounceback program to me at all. I had read a little about it before I went but I was so busy that I didn't get a chance to seek it out. I was sure they would offer the same deal to the general public. I was bummed when I found out we would miss it by a few days. BUT we are going to Disney and going to have a great time! Here's hoping for low crowds our first week.

I got it!!!!

I was able to get a CM that found the right code to apply it to a package!! So it isn't only for room only.

So the details:

POR standard 7 night, 2 adults. 8 day PH and water park tickets and dining for $1906!!! Basically I get dining for free.

I got the postcard today and I have a few questions before I call. The dates day 9/2 to 9/29. We are going 9/28 to 10/8. Can I get the rate for the whole trip or only the last two days. I know the free dining you got it as long as you checked in before the last day, is this the same for the pins?? PLEASE say it is so otherwise I just got a code for nothing.

The only way to really know is to call and find out. the CM I spoke with when we got one said that there are several different PINs and post card offers out there.

As far as I know you should be cool. The policy may change for next year, but as of now if your vacation starts within the dates, you can book the whole thing.

We also had a problem with the Bounce Back program..in a nutshell.. We tried to talk to someone on 3 occasions on the last day we were able to talk to someone and they ocul dnot answer our questions (handicapped access rooms) We gave them our # and they said they would call us at home. They did and we gave them our dates and they said they would call back. When I didnt hear I called them and they had a record of us talking to someone 2 times but would not let us use the program since we had not booked. I was so angry. We were going to book but had to make sure that there would be handicapped access rooms available and for 5 people (only POR) we asked if we should book and then make the arrangements through special services and we were told no. They had a record but no dates so they would not let us use it.... so sad.

you know, they said the same thing to me when i called when we got our pin in the mail...i just kind of giggled and told her that neither DH nor myself were even BORN in 1971

she said she'd "update our records"

I just called 15 mins ago....
I just had a PIN attached to my name...and I was able to use the code plus get dining...

I got POR for 4 nights standard
2 3 day park hoppers
dining plan for 2 adults

total 1240.00 incl tax.


On WDW.com the same pkg is showing 1471 approx....

she told me at first it was room only but she did some checking and I was able to apply the dining and tix...I saved about 240 for 4 nights.

I just had a PIN attached to my name...and I was able to use the code plus get dining...

I got POR for 4 nights standard
2 3 day park hoppers
dining plan for 2 adults

total 1240.00 incl tax.


On WDW.com the same pkg is showing 1471 approx....

she told me at first it was room only but she did some checking and I was able to apply the dining and tix...I saved about 240 for 4 nights.

Still a no go. He said no it's only a room only code. He said there is a code out there for the package but I don't have that code and can't use it. He said my code will cancel out my DDP and my tickets.

she did tell me she had to check to see if my pin could be used with a pkg deal

she left for 3 mins and came back and that was the deal I got

I did the math and basically I got the 94 dollar room charge per night then she just added on the tix and dining....

I am sorry....I can't help ya better

I replied to you on the other thread, too. I got a post card with a PIN, too. It says "_____ Family, This could get your ducks in a row for a family vacation."
With Donald, Hewey, Dewey and Lewey.

Inside it says Values starting at $59, and has a 15 digit PIN Code.

My guess is that if your post card is like mine, you should be able to book a package. I just booked OKW, with tickets and dining this evening. On the fourth try, there was no problem whatsoever.

I would definitely ask to speak to a supervisor if the CM can't do it. I also mentioned that my "friend" had booked a package at a moderate with the same post card.

Yes, that's the postcard I got and I have the 15 digit code. Is the last digit of your code an "8". I don't know if the codes are person specific or not. What time does CRO close?

The codes are person specific, and my code does not end with an 8, but it's the same deal, I'm sure.

I don't know when they close. You could try tomorrow morning.

I didn't get one, but both my DH and sister did at my address. I called using my husbands. We got the same rate as AP and they let me book the DDP. Now I am not sure between going with the AP rate or doing this.
