Just Received Post Card with Code

WooHoo!:woohoo: We just saved $495 on our trip this August!! My sister got a postcard, really strange because I always book the trips for the 2 families but her name is listed on the reservation as part of the group. Anyway, I called my TA at DU and she got us the new rate. (We were already going) It came out to $105/night with taxes. We are so excited, I've gotten postcards before but never was able to use them.:goodvibes

Just posting this in reference to your maiden name. The last time I called CRO they were going over all of my info that was in the system. They said, "Well I see here that your last visit was in 1971." I told them no that we were there in 2005 and that I wasn't even BORN in 1971. :confused3

That is so wierd. Last week, a CM gave me 1971 as my last visit date. I corrected him, cause it was 2006. :confused3

I have received a post card once in my maiden name. It came a few months after I booked our first trip with my married name. What up with that? That was in 2004, and now I am ready for another postcard, PLLLEEEEAAASE.:goodvibes

Not like I am going to get one  But is the pin only good for the values, or are other resort categories included ??

And here we have the main reason I dislike these threads... Personally if I ever got a postcard/pin I probably wouldn't post. Two thing seem to happen. One the thread turns into swap meet with mods threatening folks for posting pins etc. Two folks feel treated "unfairly" by Disney because they didn't get one....

Are the discounts available at the mods??? How much was the discount at a mod?

Really wish they would send those postcards over to the UK!!

I really need a discount for September!

I didn't post this thread to cause any problems or jealousy. I posted because I found it strange that I would receive this postcard addressed to me with my maiden name at my house where I have never used that name. I have gone to Disney once as a child back in the 70's and didn't start going again until after I was married. Sorry that you dislike it.

I didn't really see anyone get jealous.:confused3 But, just to clarify about my post, I was just curious if there was a certain criteria that one falls under to recieve these cards such as going very frequently or going very infrequently. I would love to get one however, this will not deter me from booking a trip, ever.:thumbsup2

Edited to add, I understand the part about posting the actual PIN codes. If I remember correctly there was a lot of issues about this last year, and it was finally stated that no one could use the PIN except for the person it was sent to.

Trust me.... on almost ALL of these threads someone will eventually show up and say "I am NEVER going to Disney again... I go X times a year and I didn't get a discount" (My mental image is that of my two year old niece pitching a fit when she didn't get what she wanted) I don't know if jealousy is the right word, but......

It's not just Disney. Over on www.flyetalk.com there is a thread on the Marriott board where grown men and women are having a hissy because Marriott didn't select THEM for the "bonus promotion" They keep calling Marriott and whining. So far it hasn't worked, but... LOL!

No one has a CLUE what Disney's method is for sending these out. I know I get a ton of mail and email from Disney and I have never gotten one. I figure they know they don't need to bother LOL!

Thank You! I certainly never intended to upset anyone. I also am curious as to how these things are sent out. This is the first time I have ever received one and we have gone at least once a year for the past 5 years. I never let not getting one stop me either, I figured it would be a nice perk if I did though. :goodvibes

The DIS is the place to exchange information, is it not? I believe the OP posted a question about why she would get a card using her maiden name. People often get OT, but we are having a conversation. We need to not be so serious.:)

I know I will never get a pin code. Disney knows that I will come without a code.;) I've recieved a few at my house but always in the name of someone who has gone with me.

I like to see that other folks are getting pins because it gives me hope that they will do a general public code.

Cards are still coming! I just got mine today!

It does state from $59 for value. I called to see if it applied to moderate and deluxe. I did not get into specifics because I am not sure we want to go back this soon and if so when. However, the CM said that it is typically about $60 more for moderate (so $119) and $100-$300 more for Deluxe (so $159 to $359).

Hope this helps!

BTW. . .dates are 7/29-8/2, 8/5-8/29 and 9/2-9/29.

AHHHHH!!! I sorta hope I don't get one or switching to AAA was a complete waste of my time!

I wonder if my AAA TA can get the discount for me if I do get one?

.....still curious to hear what sample rates people are getting for the various deluxes.

Just got of the phone with MS and the CM did say the pin would work for mod and deluxe. I'm not real sure with the numbers he gave me...I guess the Mod is an alright deal but the Deluxe doesn't seem too good.

For 3 nights at POFQ/PO/CSR = 367.86 (tax included) which is 122.62 per nite
For 3 nights at Poly = 1147.50 (tax included) for lagoon view room which is 382.50 per night

We stayed at the Poly in Feb with a much better rate through AAA.

I am at work and am planning to call to pay off our August trip today. I'm sure there is NOT a postcard in my mailbox. (I just know!)

What should I ask when I call today? Should I ask if there is a discount code available for my reservation?

Thank you!

Ask them if you have a discount code attached to your name. I think that's what we usually say. I'm going to call soon too.

We just got back on Friday and today we got the postcard with PIN.
There is no way I can squeeze in another trip this year but I'm having such a tough time throwing out a code for $59 a night!! :upsidedow

just called to see if I had a PIN and sadly I don't:sad2: I was going to ask him to check DH's name also, but he said he was checking under our household for any discounts. :confused3

I want a discount so badly!! I really feel like I can't catch a break this year. I missed out on the 40% code, missed the free dining and the free upgrade w/free dining ***stomping feet***I really want a discount too!
