Just purchased VGF

There is an extra cost...although minor. The closing costs on 2 50 point contracts is $65 more than 1 100 pointer. It is still imo worth it, but you should be aware of all the costs.

I agree...I'd do two 50 and two 100 pointers.

Done! I had them break it down into 4 contracts just like above. Thank you and others for the input. As others have stated, I think the extra closing costs are worth it (although my guide seemed to think there were no exta costs at first... I am assuming there are). It gives us many options in the future to adjust.

I think this is absolutely the best thing. I have no plans to add on but I daydream from time to time and look up 50 point contracts resale. They fly off the shelf. Even 100 points go fast....and they don't get lowball bids either. So IF you ever need to dump one...it will be easy and you will get top dollar

Any word on the minimum buy in to be a founding member? Can you split this amount in smaller contracts amd still be considered founding?

I'm a huge fan of resale but I don't think I can wait-). Plan to at least purchase 50 points to try the place out! Congrats on your purchase OP-)

Congrats nice to see someone run the gauntlet and emerge with a decision they are happy with. Well done! Welcome home!

I too purchased 3 contracts at the VGF ::yes:: on yesterday! Open house was packed and the food was great. We purchased 1) 50 point contract and 2) 100 point contracts one was for a fixed week. We went with week 52!

being in Australia we cant purchase thru Disney unless we are physically in the USA to sign the paperwork, so we'll have to wait til sept to get our 2 x 60 point contracts at GFV....cant wait:faint:

thanks guys for mentioning split contracts, hadn't thought of it before but is such a great idea:wave2:

This appears new to me. 100 pts would not buy a full week at VGF around Christmas. Were you able to buy a partial week using the fixed week option?

Congrats! We would love to look and then buy some points but right now that is not happening-have a great trip!

The standard view was a studio and it was 139 points hence a need for the 50 extra points:)

Congrats on your purchase. What is a fixed week option? I know other timeshares operated this way but had not heard of Disney doing that. So I assume you pay for a week at a certain level that you have to use it each year at that time and level.
