I just talked to Member services and they have now decided to offer a different price for those who already have park admission.

It will be $249 for Adults and $229 for children.

Granted it isn't the $100 we were using in our calculations, but they are meeting us half way.

(Hum - now how to find $727. Hopefully they don't sell out before I recover from Xmas.)

I haven't got a clue what you are talking about??

I just got back from my vacation so maybe I missed something?

Could you explain?

On May 25 - 27th, DVC is having a member homecoming to celebrate the opening of SSR. You will receive an event announcement with the details in the mail.

The discussion was that the event price included two days of hopper tickets. Well for those of us with other tickets, ie Annual Passes - we didn't need or want to pay for the hopper tickets. So DVC has agreed to reduce the price if you don't need the tickets.

Thanks for the news! Still have to think about it though...

I just thought of a question...

Ressies will be taken starting on the 17th but when is payment due? Are they requiring a down payment right then, credit card to hold, full payment by check w/in a certain time? Anyone have any ideas??

We will be there on the 5/22-26 and then leave on a 3 days Cruise so we wouldn't be able to attend the event on the 27th.

Curious about two things - if you have any info....

Could we possibly purchase the events only and then sell (or give) the 27th event to someone who is interested in just attending that event? Are they going to be separte tickets or just one pass?

The original hopper tickets - do you know if they had to be used on the days of the events at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. I would be interested if we could use them on the 23rd and 24th and then spend some time resting up for the events on the 25th and 26 considering they go until midnight.

I will probably have to contact Member Services directly to answer my particular questions but just wondering if you had any ideas on these subjects. Thanks.

Lauri

Sorry Charlie!
$50!!!! They had better have a spread and tons of free stuff it that is all the discount they are giving.

I will be in London England that week so this is not really an issue. LOL!

Well, that is a step in the right direction. Unfortunately I will be at Wake Forest University that Tuesday and Wednesday.

Just a $50 discount? That doesn't seem quite fair does it? I have a party of 6 that will be there that weekend and IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! but for $1500 I don't think we will be able to attend :-( Has anyone attended these member events, other than the cruise? Is it really worth all that cash? I will have to buy park hoppers on top of that for the remaining days I will be there so even that doesn't make sense because if I buy the member event and then have to buy 3 more days, I won't get as good a deal on the park hoppers either, right?

I think this is a ripoff! for $500 for two of us (AND having to pay for park entrance), I would rather have two outstanding meals somewhere at WDW, see Spectro and Mission to Mars on our own park time, and have lots of $$$ left over! What they are offering sounds very fun, but not worth $250 per person when all it amounts to is some buffet food and private "access" to stuff you can see on your own anyway.

Ilene, this is the first time they've ever done anything like this (except the cruise).

It seems to me that DVC members got a VERY quick response to our concerns! That is very good!

The dollar amount could be better, but a fair number of AP owners do get their costs per day down close to that $25/day.

All in all, a rather positive development I'd say.

They did have tons of giveaways on the cruise...I was so jealous. It will be hard to be there and not take part in this event but I really can't justify it. Maybe just I will go..bwahaha!

Any specifics on the 'giveaways' they had on the cruise? DW and I will be attending the MH, and we could use some positive news right about now ;)

Thanks in advance!

So am I correct in that the "feef" pays for park admittance and events or only for events?
\Then in additon we would have to book rooms using points or not?

The fee covers your park admission and events. You have to make your own accomodations(pts or cash).

The event tickets only are very pricey, that is really unfair price.
dvc is making it look like you were getting a hugh discount for 2 days of park for $50. that is ashame that dvc is disappointing their members about this members homecoming especially when the members cruise was such a hit. It looks like its not worth buying event tickets only if you have park passes, if your park passes dont expire, you should hang on to them. as far as ap , i would still complain and save your $50 a ticket. hope there are some really nice members giveaways

I'm glad to know Member Services is listening. That in itself is great news. I also sent an email and received a generic response stating no discount for AP holders.

We would love to attend -- it would mean DS9 would miss a couple of days of school but I know his teacher supports family vacation time.

We'll have to see if "Santa" adds anything special to our stockings this year.;)

$50 and the full price gets two days admission WITH PI or DQ? That is cheap, cheap, cheap.

Not enough of a discount for me to buy it.

I would pay the full price if they gave me two one-day park hopper passes.
