A SWAT team working with the sniper task force seized a man in a white van at a gas station Monday, but less than an hour later, investigators issued a statement suggesting the man was not the gunman terrorizing the Washington, D.C., area. And a source close to the case told NBC’s David Bloom that the sniper was not in custody.

Authorities said Saturday night's shooting of a 37-year-old man outside a Ponderosa restaurant in Ashland, Virginia, had been linked by ballistics evidence to the previous shootings.

I thought it was probably linked, but I was really, really hoping it was just a copycat.

I've been watching CNN all day and this keeps getting weirder and weirder. Very cryptic, not alot of good info from the police. But maybe that's good - they're still investigating, or so they say. I really hope these two are the right ones.
