Just Got A 40% Off Code

The 2 CM's that I spoke to yesterday said so, I was dumbfounded because that is a HUGE savings but the one CM altered my ressie to add 2 seven day park hoppers and the dining plan and it came out to $147 each for the tickets and $140 each for the dining ....I am still trying to figure out if we want to go that route or just buy the AP's

Was this accomplished by using a simple three-digit discount code... or did you have a personal single-use PIN?

I've been working on our 6-family member trip for April at CBR: booked 4 rooms at AAA rate and praying for a code.

However, DH and I had also planned to go back in December for a belated 10th Anniversary trip. I got the 40% personal pin code in my email, and was bummed that it was not good for my April dates.

DUH...took a while for the lightbulb to go on. Since we wanted to go in early December, I called to check if the Poly is eligible for the code. I am over the moon at the rate I got for Garden View! We were incredibly lucky to get the amazing Poly deal back in 2002, and have wanted to return since. Just couldn't justify the cost.

Soooooooooooooo excited!

:yay:

I called twice to check and see if I had a 40% code attached to anyone in my party. Both times they were grumpy. The last one said that it would be attached to my household. Either way, I didn't have one.

Maybe the entire staff is having a bad day.

I think they are getting flooded with calls from people asking if they have a pin code attached to their name......

I just called and yes there was a pin code attached to my name:goodvibes
GF garden view w/7 day park hoppers Sept 18-24 @$2236...good deal?

I have the AKL CL reserved, with the 40% off pin code for April. I have the DDE card also, so we absolutely don't need the DP for our April trip.I was really curious about all the different CM responses, however, so I decided to call to see what I would be told.

First off I told the CM I wanted to request a Savannah view for our Standard Club Level room, because I really wanted to see what he would say. He told me that I was only eligible for the standard (i.e. parking lot) view, since it was a Standard CL room. We politely disagreed a while, then I finally told him he was wrong. After putting me on hold, he came back to state that "the handbook" read that we would be getting a Savannah view room.

Then I told him that I wanted to price out turning my room only into a package. I told him that we already have Seasonal passes, but that I would be willing to purchase 1 day base tickets in order to make this happen. He actually got very excited, as if he would be getting one heck of a Mickey pat-on-the-back for booking a DP package. He put me on hold while he got Guest Services involved in turning my room only into a MYW package with the DP, all the while keeping my 40% off for the room purchase.
He went on to tell me what a great deal the DP is, and that "you will be saving another 40% on food". I asked if he was trying to tell me that he was offering me 40% off the regular DP price, as well as 40% off the room. "Oh no, but when you buy the DP you can easily save 30% - 40% off the regular prices of food", he said.
So, I'm thinking that something similar was said to those folks on the board who are under the impression that they were given a 40% discount on the DP as well as the 40% room discount when booking this code as a package. Slick, very slick.
Anyway, by adding the 4 adult 1 day base tickets and the DP to my $1316 five night AKL CL ressie, it turned into a $2388 package. I stuck with my room only, but my curiosity is satisfied. :)

You are correct.....you can make it a package and add DDP, but those are at regular price. My price is exactly 40% off the room only.

Ok so we just got one and shifted our dates around. Paying rack room rate at POP Oct 13-19 and 40% off at POR Oct 19-26. The POR portion was origionally about $1300 but with discount its $779! We would have saved more if we could have gone later and stayed through the 1st of Nov but dh had to be back!

Savings of $521!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

FOr those that did call and get the 40% what phone number did you call?

What is the phone number listed in the email or post card?

I thought I would at least start with the same phone number.

Thanks

I'll chime in on the 40% off the package portion - I called tonight to see if I could move us to AKL concierge for our dates (nope!) and the CM said there was also 40% off the dining plan and the tickets. I couldn't figure out his numbers while on the phone and so I agreed to it. An hour later, I was on the phone, backing out the changes. Realistically, I know we won't need to spend that much on dining every day. And while it would be nice to go to a water park, we're staying at a nice hotel and you can't have everything. (At least not on my budget!)

One thing which was a surprise was the fact that it had to be paid so far in advance. Umm.... I can't guess but I'll bet some more knowledgeable members can guess at just how much extra income Disney gets just on holding that money. I would much, much rather decide on what type of tickets much closer to my arrival.

I called the regular CRO phone number as I would if I was booking, modifying, or making dining reservations.

I don't get it....how come some people get the 40% and others don't? Also, when looking at mousesavers history of discounts, i thought codes, etc. for fall 08 trips aren't coming out until august. I'm just confused..............

OK, I'll add to the confusion even more.

We got a card for this code delivered to our address, but our friends name.

We traveled to WDW with this friend and her family in 2004, but we stayed off site and got tickets through AAA. She and her family traveld back to WDW in 2006, but stayed off site again.

We were back in 2005 and twice in 2007. When I called about this code, there was nothing in my name, DW's name or any of our kids names. I told them that they had the correct address, just the wrong name I was told that -sorry, no the code is connected to the name, not the address.

We're heading back in 2008, and would love to be able to apply this code.

I would call back and try a different cast member. First give them the code number. I received my postcard with my mother's name since she traveled with us once in the past. They said that she was listed under my household using my address so I could use it. The first CM I spoke with said that my mom had to call and book it for me (she did not have to be on the Res. as long as the CC billing address was the one on the card) but then proceeded to book it for me anyway.

I have a question about how they determine who is in your hosehold. When I called, they said there were 3 families associated with my household :confused3 There are only 4 people in my household not 3 families. The CM said she checked all 3 for a code, but there wasn't one on any of them.

We took one trip with my parents and sister's family once. They automatically had us setup as a Grand Gathering. There were 3 seperate rooms under 3 different names. We only did this once. Could this be how we ended up with 3 families? Do they just assume all three families travel together all the time because we don't. :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I called 407-WDISNEY. I got an EXTREMELY knowledgable CM who spent about 20 minutes updating my personal information and looking for a code in my name (and everyone else in my family, including the kids). Turned out the code was in my wife's name and attached to my old address.

Are any of you, who received the code, FL residents or AP holders? I've never received a code and thought maybe it was because I live in FL although it's SOUTH FL and everytime we go we stay at least one night at a WDW resort. But I would love a code for our April trip so we could stay at Poly.

I live in Wisconsin. I have had AP's in the past but not currently. My guess - WDW recognizes that 2008 will not be like years prior (with the economic issues) and they may be looking at people who have visited previously (according to WDW records, my last visit was 2004) or have shown an interest in WDW and they are aggressively offering discounts to book rooms. I may be wrong - but this may be a good year for discounts (but maybe not as good as 2002 or 2003).

has anyone booked the 17th thru Dec 23? Just checking to see if anyone got the 40% off the whole time vs just the 17th.

readingteacher, I am rooting for you to get a good discount. I am a reading teacher as well. :cheer2:
