Just going to encourage everyone to just keep calling if you are taking/or want to take a vacation during the dates of this 40% off promotion. This was my timeline with this code. I was told alternatingly over the last two weeks that I either have no code under my name, have a code good only for dates through march under my name, or have a code under my sister's ex-boyfriend's name registered at my address - also only good for dates through march and I couldn't use anyway according the the cm's who say it is there. I really would just drop it and not be such a pest about these discounts if they ever gave the same story twice.
Anyway, I call this morning and lo and behold I have the 40% off code that everyone here has been talking about. I confirm the dates and tell the cm that I need to call my wife and figure out the best time to use. I'm assured that the code is on my account, under my present info and will be readily available when I call back. Like a complete dunce I accept this at face value and hang up.
After 2 hours of phone calls and deciding where and when we want to stay - I have no code on my account whatsoever. I spend nearly a half hour on the phone, am transferred to someone in guest services who also assures me that there is no code on my account but they would be happy to give me a discount that amounts to about 10% off - less than a AAA discount. Oh well, at this point it is time to go get the kids and I temporarily give up.
I call back this afternoon. Explain that I was quoted a 40% discount code earlier this morning and that I spent over a half hour around noon being told there is no code at all on my account. He tells me thats silly - there is clearly a code right here and we go through the motions of trying to book a reservation for December. After several minutes - "oh, this code is only good for dates until the end of March." Now it is closing in on basketball practice and I give up again.
So, my final try of the night I simply call and say I want to book a stay in December. I say I understand that I might have a discount eligible for this period. Without hesitation the cm says absolutely and in less than 10 minutes I am booked at the Poly with 40% off the room rate. I have already confirmed the res at wdw.com and am good to go.
Long story short - don't give up and as frustrating as it is try not to take it out on the CMs. In all of my calls I really don't believe that any of the CMs are lying to me. I just thank their database and how it attachs discounts is that complicated. In fact, for all we know the phone queue might randomally assign incentives to accounts as calls come in. It would certainly be one of the only ways to explain my on again / off again code situation. Just keep trying and I imagine most of you will eventually be rewarded.
Have the dates that the code are good for been posted yet? I can't find them. Thank you.
