Just Finished the 4/30-5/7 EB Fantasy Cruise

Nothing to do with any previous questions, just wanted to update anyone who is curious and maybe considering how careful they want to be onboard… our cruise’s fb group currently has 15 people out of ~450 members who are reporting testing positive for covid now. We just decided to go ahead and take tests ourselves to be safe, and we’re all still negative. Also, the staff switched to KN95’s halfway through I cruise, and I am hearing it is because of rising cases. On the 7th night, our server also did not make it to dinner service. We were told he was injured, but others are saying their servers also started missing towards the end. No idea how honest and forthcoming they would be. I just want to provide the info, in case anyone is considering what level of caution they want to practice in terms of masking, packed elevators, sitting closely in theaters, etc. Please don’t begin debating anything else covid wise.
Thanks for sharing. Were you on the original poster’s cruise?

I believe Remy was open, we only went to Palo twice but it appeared to be open. The Baths tour I am conflicted on, the beaches were beautiful. The first one in particular, but we only were there for 30 minutes. And then the hike through the caves, that was rough. Mostly because people were stopping to take so many pictures that they hold people up in the beating sun, carrying all their stuff, cramped and cranky. Next time, I will take the guide up on his offer to skip the cave hike and just take the path to the second beach.

When we did the Baths several years ago this was our experience. Too many people and the line on the path made this excursion one of my least favorite. I would have thought it would be a little better thinking maybe there are a little less people cruising still but apparently not.

Do you know if COVID testing is required for Tortola/BVI? Just wondering because I will be sailing with a 90 day recovery letter, and will not be tested. I saw online that BVI requires COVID testing, so wondering how this works for cruises and 90 day recovered folks.

They do not do any testing for the Tortola stop

We just debarked the 4/30 Eastern Carribean Fantasy cruise, we are 3 adults no kids. We did The Baths at Tortola, St John at St Thomas (first Disney cruise since covid to offer excursions back to St John), and both Family Beach and Serenity Bay in Castaway. Also did Palo Brunch and Palo Dinner. I checked ice cream flavors every day, and they were Mango/Chocolate, Strawberry/Banana, and Vanilla/Chocolate for every day of the cruise. (Sadly no blueberry like in the past). If you have questions about things we did, I will answer the best I can! Cannot answer anything about the Spa or Kids stuff. And I’m at Volcano Bay today, so my responses will be a bit delayed but I really enjoyed the threads from previous cruises to help me plan, so wanted to help anyone else with cruises coming up!
Thank you for sharing so we can see what recent travel looks like! Did they have the late night buffet on pirate night after the show?

Maybe if we had been in the very front of the line, it would’ve been a great experience. But being half to 3/4 back, it was terrible. At one point we had been held up in the same spot for so long that the tour guide who was bringing up the rear went past us so he could “go smack someone who was causing the wait”

We just did this excursion and this is exactly what you need to do. After the first beach break when they tell to you get ready to go through the boulders line up quickly and be at the front of the line. We were the third group behind the guide and had no wait at all through your he rocks and it gave us a lot of time on the second beach which had awesome little tide pools where we found little fish, bivalves and crabs.

Thanks for the info! We just booked the 9 night in July and all the St Johns excursions show as sold out, but others said they have never been available to book. Just wondering if Disney will add them as available now since you were able to go there last week!
Are you talking about St John's, Antigua? This is a Different St Johns they are talking about in the British Virgin Islands.

I read somewhere else that there were roughly 600 denied boarding on this cruise (not positives, but families included). Did you hear that, to me that sounds like one of the largest numbers yet, so a little (lot) skeptical.

I think it's possible, if anyone in your party tests positive, you're denied boarding. So 600 denied boarding isn't 600 positive cases

Yes, but that still seems like a large number not to have seen numerous "we were denied boarding" posts here or other places. Again, maybe true, may be not, but that is right up there with the most I remember seeing, for sure since going to the antigen testing.

It does seem like a high number, but we've actually seen relatively few "I was denied boarding" threads here on DISboards (maybe a half dozen since the restart?). I think there have been far more posts about it on other social media sites.

Did you see Ben and David from Youtube filming on board? Looking forward to seeing their videos from this sailing.
