Just curious how many pts you have?

Bought into BLT in 2009 with 160 pts and have added on so we now have 235 pts. Wasn't nearly enough! Would love to add on more but not in the finances, yet.

I wish there was something closer to Illinois too, so we could drive .. like 6 hours away or closer.

Same here or at least a days drive. I'm about to make another road trip for a last minute trip and not looking forward to that part at all.

DH and I have 3 contracts all direct from Disney. First was in 2004 at SSR for 160 points. Next year added on a 25 point SSR contract. When AKV opened we bought 105 points there on the first day. So we are at 290 right now. We are hoping to add on next year with some points at the Poly, 110 would be the goal to bring us to an even 400 points, but that may depend on how many points the various room types require.

We bought in 2008 at BLT with 160 points, we came home and quickly realized we needed a few more points so we bought 55 more.. We have never stayed at BLT and in the meantime fell in love with OKW so this year we bought 260 OKW points on the resale market, for a total of 475. This is perfect for my family of three to go once a year just us for 8 nights and another trip with friends or family for another 8 or so nights.. We have only done 2 trips just us and have had my in-laws, mother, brothers, niece or friends etc join us on the other trips we have taken.. We find a lot of pleasure in being able to bring people with us.. This year I was able to get a friend and her daughter a studio at 2 resorts for a trip they otherwise would not have been able to afford.. So happy to have been able to do that... We use a credit card with airline miles and cook in the room to off set some of the expenses..

we are also in Illinois and we bought into dvc in 1992. we have driven down and we generally fly down and try to go a few times a year for maybe a quick weekend trip. one day we plan to spend a few weeks at a resort. and yes the memories well worth it

We have purchased 150 points this year in 3 separate contracts to get us up to 350:

BLT 150
BCV 125
VGF 75

At one point we were up to 300 but sold our 50 point BWV and VWL (that one hurt a little) contracts dropping us to 200 before the recent buying spree. I think we're done, at least for now. ;)

Just bought our first contract (via resale) this past May. 100 pts at BLT (our dream resort!). Some day we'll add on but for now we are giddy to be DVC members! I'm a big nerd and can't wait to buy my first DVC pin and maybe a DVC member polo shirt!

We bought our first 210 points in 2008. Added on another 100 points in 2011. Plan on another 110 in a few years.

Our first purchase was 220 pts at BWV, which would get us a specific # of nights during September when we usually vacationed before our daughter was born.

Then we added 80 points at OKW before it sold out, which was designed to be 5 weekday nights during September.

Then our daughter came along, and during middle school and high school we don't take more than a day or two away from school, so we travel in August, and we find ourselves wishing for more points and using them every other year or in combination with paid nights at POR or offsite.

But just 3 more years of High School!

The contracts I share with my dad total 630 points with the majority being at SSR, but we do have a small contract to VGF.

Disney is the only place he'll go on vacation and we try to invite people on every trip. Our next is in two days (TWO DAYS!!!) and we're taking two of my best friends. In October for F&W, we're taking my grandmother and two of my great-aunts. In December, we're taking his cousins.

We rarely travel just the two of us, and that's half of the fun of our trips for us!

160 @ AKL in 2008, followed by 100 @ BLT in 2009 - we found ourselves traveling to WDW more as a couple without kids (I think just because the $$ goes further when you're not dragging a crowd :thumbsup2). After a few years we add 55 pts at BC for the location.

After owning 5 years our vacation habits have changed. For the same OOP $$ we increased our trips from 4N to 6N and continue to go two or three times a year. We did one Family trip but usually we just have our FL based DD join us for the weekends we're 'in town'.

At this point with 315 pts I think we're pretty good point-wise altho DH has a hankering for Poly points. Think we're going to rent out the BLT 100 this year.

Bought 145 from Disney @ SSR in 2011. Would have liked more but paid cash and didn't want to go crazy. We'd love to look at Polynesian once they release it but given their pricing trend.. probably not.

Bought our first contract at OKW 200 points in 2000. A few years later and we were up to 460 - (260 OKW & 200 BCV). We have not added on in a long time. I did purchase 100 SSR points for my son and dil two years ago (part of wedding gift). I will be putting up some BCV points for him next year for F & W.......

Not sure if we will do any more add-ons - but who knows ;) - We all say we are going to leave the contracts to our kids and we will. But as they become adults and want to go with their families/spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend - they are never enough points for everyone to share.

We have five OKW contracts , all with a Feb. use year, a total of 520 points. Dw and I are talking about a garage sale.......anyone want to come? ;)

We have six contracts divided between OKW and AKV for at total of 300 points. At one point we owned 600, but really it was too many. (Hard for a Disney nut like me to admit and I've very seriously considered going back to 600.) For the number of times we go 300 seems to be working fine.
