The Official Riviera Owners & Info Thread

I’m curious. Does anyone know the approximate skyliner wait time when the queue is wrapped all the way down that side street next to the main line?

ETA: Skyliner back to RIV from IG
I’ve been in that…it was 10 minutes. It went fast.

Last night it was all the way to that gate near BC thst you can go through to get to the villas.

It was just after park close but it wasn’t even moving…because the Skyliner seemed to be starting and stopping…

I didn’t wait it out…walked to BC and took a Lyft…best $10!!!

I think this is the worst part of Riviera transportation (assuming good weather for the Skyliner). However, even in most cases I've dealt with at park closing, that line continues to move (15-20 mins in my experience). Other than that you've got dedicated bus lines and a resort that is centrally located on property. I still believe Riviera is, logistically, a great resort if not the best.

Just wrapped up a fantastic stay at RIV. I had a Deluxe Studio Resort View, 5th floor on the west side. It had a fabulous view of the EPCOT fireworks which I enjoyed a few times. Previous stay was also in a Resort View studio, and I was on the east side and was just out of view of EPCOT fireworks. It is cool to have a nice view of Spaceship Earth from your bed. :)

Traveling with my friend who needs a certain sleep setup for medical reasons. She will need the bed to be on the right hand side of the room once you walk in the door. Does anyone have a link to the room set up or know the numbers on the rooms that have a layout with the bathroom and beds on the right? We are booked in the Deluxe Villa preferred room. thanks!

Because it is for a medical reason, I would simply put this explanation down as her room request though chat, and have her check in in-person to make sure she’s gotten a room that fits her requirements. The last few times I’ve made specific requests (higher floors, side near Skyliner), I’ve gotten the opposite of what I’ve requested. In those instances, I’ve just accepted it; however in this instance it should be documented. Good luck!

Hey RIV owners! I am finally finally staying at RIV. My previous attempts I ended up switching to something else. We will be in a 1 bed resort view. My question is, is the Preferred View worth the extra 10 points per night. It’s available for me to modify into.

I’d say no. IMO, I think I’d only book preferred view if resort were unavailable. Although I do think some of the views on the preferred side are very nice, some of them are really pretty similar to resort view. I’d request high floor and close to Skyliner to try and have the best view of the Epcot fireworks.

It's up to you, the preferred view rooms overlook the pools, Caribbean Beach, and Skyliner - whereas the resort view rooms overlook the parking lot, porte cochere, and ultimately EPCOT.

In my opinion neither view is really that great so I go for resort view every time.

I think it depends on whether you are someone who generally upgrades for the view. I’m fine with resort view at RIV, which will often have you with a good view of Epcot. I like the preferred view (pool, water, no bush) too. If you really love having a water view and spend a lot of room time it could be worth it. I realize this post is spectacularly unhelpful but it’s really a very personal choice!

For us, the Preferred View is worth it.

We’ve seen the Epcot fireworks enough times, plus it’s a ways off in the distance.

And I don’t want to look at the parking lot.

We ask for a room overlooking the quiet pool at the RIV. Those rooms are centrally located in the building and have a balanced, serene view.

I too prefer the PV and will book that unless I want to save points!!

Much more relaxing sitting on the balcony with a glass of something overlooking the water and the pool than the parking lot!!

Thanks everyone. Very helpful. It seems might be a little similar to VDH where preferred view can be great but you can also get just a little better than resort view. This will only be a 1 night stay. If the preferred isnt something spectacular like a theme park view would be at other resorts I may just save the points since I am limited on how many unrestricted points I have.

Super excited to finally stay, every other time I have been to RIV was just to visit the resort or just passing through.

I’m excited you’re staying there too!

I always say the best part about RIV is the rooms themselves. I think you'll enjoy it regardless of the view :) have fun!

Not interested in buying Riviera, but can you do a walk in room tour there? Thinking I’d like to see the rooms so I know what it’s like in case it’s an open option sometime when booking. The DVC booths were too busy to ask this AM. Thanks!
