We have a fake tree, although I prefer a real one. We go with fake because it goes up Thanksgiving weekend and stays up until about 2nd week of January....a real tree would not make it that long.
I like 'em big and fake. And coverd in colored lights.
Sounds like something Barney Stinson would say at a strip club, lol.
We have cats so we go artificial and the real ones are so expensive these day's its crazy. Our giant fake one was under $80 and will last years, as opposed to $50 every year for a real one that will last for weeks. Long term investment. More money for outdoor lights.
We were gifted a fake tree that I once set up on our sun porch. It's a very nice tree, but we get a real one for the house. When we were close to broke, I mentioned we should set up the artificial tree to save the $20 we'd spend on a tree. DH shot me down instantly. We're lucky to live in a part of Maine where trees are $15-25, so it wasn't a huge extra expense. We usually go in early December to pick one out. DH sets it up in the living room, puts the lights on, and I decorate it.
