I can hear the call now. DVC says, I was going to call Joe Blow but since you're on the phone, have I got a deal for you. You're the lucky contestant to get two 2 BR instead of a GV.Originally posted by jjpounds
Wow, my heart just sank. We are booked in a Grand Villa for October 19 for 12nights. We are having our family from Texas meet us there and we've been talking up this Grand Villa for the past 11 months!!! The kids are all so excited about a two story condo. I'm sorry to hear the bad news for you and would definately demand something better than what they have offered you. I plan on calling in the morning to find out what's going on. Good luck to you!!!
There would be no way to do this for a sold out resort. What they could do is guarantee them they won't get bumped next time IF they legally schedule a GV again. Then you'd have this year's trip, and still have the GV to look forward to for next trip.
I doubt it was more than one GV. The OP said the CM had 5 other folks to call and cancel, and I am sure those were for the 5 other weeks this GV would be out of commission. I am quite sure they don't refurbish something as large as a GV in just one week.Originally posted by childsplay
I would still be interested to know how several GV go out for "refurbishment" at the same time![]()
(Or at least I thought that is what the OP had said earlier, that the individual at MS still had more calls to make.)
Hope your trip goes well.

This seems a bit odd to me, too. I posted about a (not so) similar situation in August, when DD and I checked into our studio at BCV. At the BC desk, with our luggage already checked, we were told they were "oversold" and we were being moved to a studio at OKW. When I didn't roll over and play dead, we eventually got our room at BCV. (If I had been thinking a little quicker, I would have asked for a concierge room at AKL, with reservations for the Sunrise Safari!). Anyway, there was a post on the DIS Resorts board about a week later from a lady whose family was upgraded from a standard room at the Yacht Club to a 2 BR at BCV. Yacht Club had some rooms being renovated, apparently. That would have been the same week we were there (1st week of August) and I know that BCV was at capacity. I wonder who got bumped from their reserved 2 BR, and where they wound up. My point is, DVC point rooms seem to be in the inventory system for Disney resorts, and they shouldn't be. They belong to DVC members, not CRO. Is there anything about this in our by-laws? Diana
These are the inconviences as I see them.
Hey look one/fifth of my words are "that".... pretty impressive huh?!? That, that, that, that ,that.......just checking to see how fast I can type "that".....ok... all done, bye, bye
