Just Bought into SSR whats going to Happen after 35 years at other DVC Resorts?

We just bought into SSR so we own that for 47 years. My question is what is going to happen in 35 years when all the other current DVC expires? Will those resorts close down, be turned into a hotel? Will we still be able to book there or not? I am wondering this because when we go to Disney we like to stay at the Beach Club and are hoping to book at the BCV this year.

I don't know if this question has been asked before but after reading my paperwork this got me to thinking about this.

Once 2042 hits, those resorts will no longer be available for use by DVC members....no one knows what they will do then.....

It's possible they may start selling new 50 year ownerships at those resorts, which then would make them available again, or they may knock them down and build new ones, or they may just start renting as cash only....who knows.

You will be able to use your points at SSR, the new Animal Kingdom Villas, and any other new DVC resorts that don't expire until 2054 or later.

The other resorts (excluding AKL and the hoped for CRV) will implode 12 seconds after midnight.

Suddenly, no one will bad-mouth SSR anymore, at least for the next 12 years!

UPDATE: Just found out the OKW is also exempt. It is being converted into a CM retirement home! (Halfway there already if you ask me........)

I recently did a survey that asked about how I felt about paying for a 10 year extension on the contracts that I have, at what price point was it something I'd consider, what was too much, etc. I answered honestly based on today's needs and my current age, but by then I'll be 75 so who knows what I would want then.

I don't know...and I don't care, cause if I'm still breathin I will be 94 and not really interested in going to WDW anymore anyway. Chances are I will be pushin up daisies by that time anyway, so my kids can worry about it.

On a more practical note, I would expect that WDW will do something to keep all of the DVC'ers happy and coming back every year...remember, WDW makes more money from us on park passes, trinkets, drinks and food that they ever could from the resorts themselves.
