Hi, Just wanted to share as I know you would all know how I feel:goodvibes
Have just Booked our first Christmas visit to Disney Flying on the 25th December and staying for 2 weeks.:santa: :woohoo:
We have just gone the cheapest way we could, but got a really good price staying at the Faifield inn and suites by Marriott.
We looked at staying on site but it worked out about £500.00 more which would be £500,00 towards our tickets.
It is also a trip we weren't really planning so to speak as it normally takes us a couple of years to save and we go for a bit longer and do the villa bit etc.
As long as we are there I don't care where we stay.
Anyway have looked on Trip advisor and there seems to be some really good reviews so am really excited , especially as I'm a bit of a chrimbo nut,
We are thinking of keeping it a surprize from the Girls and just telling them on Christmas eve when we will have to travel from Cornwall up to the airport :woohoo:
I just can't wait untill our trip In August and perhaps I can sneak a peek at the Fairfield whilst we are ther.
Thankyou for letting me bore you all to tears!!! I just need to try and remember how to make a new ticker
Take Care

That's fab news, CP!:thumbsup2 We're going Christmas 2008 too - travelling out on the 20th. I'm hoping my big kids might join us and fly out Christmas Day...

Thanks CT:goodvibes Have you been before over the Christmas period?
If so any advice would be welcome.
I know we are going at the mega busy time, but what a magical place to be busy or not.
Hope your family will be able to join you all:thumbsup2

We went for Christmas back in 1998, so a lot different and busier now I expect! Oh WOW! I've only just realised it'll be our 10 year 'Christmas in WDW' anniversary - now that's GOT to be special! I have to persuade those big kids to come...

It'll be very magical - probably spend most of the time just soaking up the atmosphere, looking at the decorations around the resorts and trying not to go overboard in DTD's Christmas Shop! :cloud9:

CP, I meant to ask, who are you flying with?

Thats the best excuse for getting the kids over . 10 years is definately something you should be celebrating!!
Hubbie generally leaves me at the DTD Christmas shop he goes off for a wonder for a few hours !!!!!:santa:
I think I have died and gone to Heaven when I enter that shop, It just makes me feel happy when I am in there:goodvibes
Keep in touch and we can count down together :hourglass

We are flying with Virgin.
We were one of the groups of people that recieved letters saying that we were no longer FV's. But it has all been sorted out now and I think in our case we were very lucky as the Guy who helped us was brilliant , infact he was the one who booked this holiday for us .
There would have been a problem with the discount as we have to wait 10 plus weeks for our new cards, anyway he has sorted it all out , given us discount and will honour any other changes we might be eligable for.
Can't ask for more than that.
Who are you flying with?

Haven't booked anything yet other than a DCL cruise from the 27th December for 7 nights. That's how the whole plan started and initially we were going to fly in just for that. Then I started thinking - always a bad move - and decided that DH, youngest DS and myself would spend Christmas in WDW (we're DVC members so I can't book that until January! :scared1: ) with DD and eldest DS plus their partners flying in on December 26th so we'll all be together on the cruise...

I'd book a VH Fly-Drive for the 3 of us (independent offspring have to pay for own flights) but I read that they're no longer giving the 10% FV discount on those. Plus I'm not sure whether to just wait until VA release their flights... :confused3

Maybe I should just give VH a call... :rolleyes1

Here's a little ticker action to keep us going! :thumbsup2

We did Christmas 2006, you will love it:cool1: we did 9 nights at the Fairfield Inn at LBV before 10 nights at AKL.

The Fairfield Inn is a great hotel, clean and recently refurbished, you can use any of the pools at the other two hotels in the complex and it does a good free breakfast.

Me again I would give them a ring , we looked at booking a fly drive and for us it was only about £ 300 approx more for the accomadation, so we went with the package.
There was no mention of us not getting our 10% of the fly drive and I believe when my hubbie was speaking with mr helpful man ( sorry can't remember his name) he was quoted a price with discount. which we could have booked now.
We haven't done a full package for years as we tend to do everything ourselves so it will be wierd not to be scouring the net for everything, mind you we will still be looking for good prices for our tickets:goodvibes
Anyway what a lovely time to be on the DCL.
We were hoping to go for a longer cruise this summer, but then they decided to come over to the Med, Never mind One day we will go for a longer cruise, hopefully when the new ones come out, but until then 3 days at the end of our hols will be Bliss, we all love it.
So how long have you had DVC? We had a look a couple of years ago, would love to become owners but wasn't the right time for us.
Speak soon

none of the hotel I think but will get DH to look, plenty of Christmas around the parks though. Would recommend visiting GF,AKL and BW to see their Xmas displays.

We also did a trip report on it Tashas Mum Dream Xmas Holiday.

On the hotel we were given a disabled room (none of us are disabled but I think they had plenty to spare) and the additional space is fantastic.

If you go to page 6 on these boards there is a thread about the hotel and somebody posted pictures whilst they were on holiday at easter.

Really?! That's very interesting! Will definitely give them a call then - thanks for the info! :flower3: Only time I ever booked everything separately (NYE trip to NYC in 2004), I spent a fortune - and then found VH did a package which would have saved loads. I felt such an idiot!:headache: So I always give VH a go first as then I know what I'm likely to spend. With that 10% discount I've never managed to beat their quote especially as the last few times we've booked there's been 5 adults in the party...

I've only done one 3 night cruise before with my DD back in May 2005 but DH and I are doing the 7 night W Caribbean in September to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. :cloud9: Hopefully he's going to love it as much as I loved the 3 nighter. Fingers crossed!!!

We looked at DVC back in 2000 but it didn't make sense for us then either. We finally bought points earlier this year as suddenly it felt right and the exchange rate was (and still is) so good. :thumbsup2

We've just got a price for xmas day staying at Fairfield Inn and can't believe the price. We'll probably see you there Cornish Pixie

You must have been as surprized with the price as we were OWJAY!!:thumbsup2
We are getting our car elsewhere as even though Virgin states that it is free by the time you put on their insurance it works out approx £100 more than hiring a car with insurance included on the net.
Anyway glad your going, exciting isn't it:goodvibes

Cornish Pixie are you virgin frequent flyers because even with the car insurance on it was cheaper than Thomson quoted us because of our 10% discount
