Just booked AKV Value Studio - confused about requests

I just booked AKV Value Studio for early September. I've been reading about dedicated value studios being either Pool or Savannah View. Is this something I should call back and request even though I know it's not guaranteed? For example, could I request a dedicated value studio with a pool view preference?

Another question for you experts out there...once we arrive if we decide to upgrade to a 1 bedroom and it's available, can that be done at the front desk? How would that work?

Yes you can request a certain view. Upgrading at the Front Desk is not advised. The Front Desk made a change for our friends a couple of months ago and it took our friends over a month to get MS to fix the points that the Front Desk messed up.

I agree that when the front desk gets involved with points, it takes a lot to get them back in order. I think that AKV used to book dedicated value studios, listed on reservation sheet, but I think I remember reading here that they've stopped that, so you can't show up and demand to have the savannah view that the dedicated implied.

Do all your changes through MS. They are now open seven days a week. You just have to do it before they close.

I booked value studios for August and the confirmation lists them as Dedicated.
