Just Back! The good, the bad and the ugly...

We just got back at 4am this morning thanks to Ike extending our trip (I'd put a smiley in, but I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry) Anyway, all in all it was an amazing trip! And after weeks of swearing never to go in Sept. again, we bounced back so we'll do it all again the same week next year We never used the busses, so we can't comment on that, but the parks were empty with a capital E; We got to see all of the shows we haven't been able to up until now because there was absolutely no line! Yes, as expected the resorts and restaurants were crowded, but nothing major; and the kids surprised us by being able to handle the fireworks this year- we tried at the MNSSHP which was an absolute BLAST!!! Thanks to everyone who encouraged us to do it with our kids- I never thought they'd have as much fun as they did! Anyway, will talk more later, but happy to answer any questions... Oh, and we rented a double stroller off site, Shannon at Orlando Stroller rentals was amazing, just awesome, and she will start carrying the Baby Jogger liberty special needs stroller soon

Our wedding anniversary is in September, so dh and I went down then each year until our older dd started school. It was always uncrowded, just like you found. I'm glad the kids did so well with the fireworks. I'm always stressed leading up to vacation, but once we get there, our family has the best time. I think my kids sort of feed off of that vibe. Thanks for the info on the stroller rental.

My kids are very anxious, don't like scary things, not fond of fireworks, so why I booked MNSSHP, I'll never know... that being said, my kids had an absolute blast!!! I think they liked the fireworks b/c most of the music was modern and danceable. (and they were wearing their headphones, so not too loud). I was worried about the parade, and the headless horseman sent DS hiding for a couple of minutes, but the characters were great; smiling most of the time, and of course we acted happy and silly, too. They loved, loved, loved, loved the trick or treating and the dance party- I have a great pic of DD dancing w/ chip and dale- I will totally go again if we have another chance- we didn't do HM, and backed up a little when the "scary" stuff was on the parade, but I was genuinly surprised at how much they loved it.

Re; the stroller rental, yes, Shannon is absolutely amazing; the strollers were so easy to use and so sturdy; and I will keep checking and let ya'll know when the liberty is available.
