We had a great vacation a few little mix-ups and one major blunder but it all worked out well. I think I am tired from changing resorts so much but we really had no problems and all checkins were very efficient. Rooms were ready very early usually around 8AM for all resorts except AS Sp.
POFQ-We were supposed to stay at POR weekends between WLV and OKW but they were overbooked and sent us to POFQ. No big deal but we did waste time between resorts and it would have been easier if they had contacted me to tell me that they were making the switch. Upgraded to water view which they tried to charge me for, but after a few questions and showing that I was not paying more than I had reserved for they fixed the over charge. Room was ready when we arrived at 7pm (not surprised)and check in was effecient after going to the "right" resort. Pool was nice, food court great and with the ability to use DD discount worked out well. Room was clean and the updates still very fresh.

WLV checked in at 8AM 1BR was ready so we took it. Great room, dropped luggage and headed to parks. Everything was as it should have been and we had no problems throughout the stay.

POR checked in at 11am room ready. Checked room, heavily smelled of smoke (DS has really bad allergies), called front desk asked to be moved, said they'd just come by a "freshen" the room for us. Apparently they never made it. I went to Winn Dixie and bought some OUST kicked everyone out of the room and went to town spraying. Half hour later the cloud dissapated and the room seemed pretty good. Sprayed it everytinme we were leaving and it was ok--DS just used all his meds and it all worked out.

OKW checked in at 8am. 1BR ready and we dropped luggage prior to heading to the parks. No issues except the shower stall was a bit moldy--now I'm not a huge complainer here since my tub at home is not exactly pristine, but this stuff was everywhere. I busted out the clorox wipes and went to town. Perfect in 10 minutes--I think the fan was not really all that powerful and since it had been so humid things were just not as under control as usual. A perfect stay--love these rooms so much I can't even imagine why I stay anywhere else! (next year I will book it straight through for 11 nights and just end with 2 nights AKL as a special treat for DD's 5th grade graduation.)

AS Sp This was not in the plan but we decided to stay an extra night. This is the great part about driving--a ton more flexibility. Checked in around 8AM, only took about 10 minutes, room not ready, headed to water park and called for room about 2:30 pm all set. Checked into Baseball bldg. Room was fine and no one had smoked in it. Found that one bed had no blanket when it was time to go to sleep, called housekeeping and a fresh blanket was brought up in about 15 minutes.

As you can see we moved around quite a bit, but it really was not a big deal and it didn't cut into our park time. The only thing I would change is going to the desk at POR and insisting upon a new room--especially since we checked in so early I find it difficult to believe they really couldn't move me. Any questions please ask!

Sounds like you guys had a great trip. Your positive experience with Resort hopping has put some of my fears at ease. We will be staying 2 nights Royal Pacific Resort, 3 nights Wilderness Lodge, 5 nights Beach Club Villas & 4 nights AKL. I may be tired, but I think I will enjoy every minute of it. :)

BTW, I agree I think that they should have moved you to another room.

Hi Patsal, sounds like you had a great time. I am in the process of renting DVC points for a 1 br at OKW. The photos at allearsnet.com look great. How was the pool? Why did you love it so much. Please give all the stuff. Thanks, gigi ::MinnieMo

Well, Grace Sea The rooms are huge--lots of room to spread out and a place for everything as well as all full sized appliances. A full sized laundry room is such a nice feature over the stacked ones in the closets at all the other DVC's. The main pool area and new slide are fabulous and I just get a really relaxed, laid back feeling when I am there. The balconies with the picnic table and four chairs allow so much more room for my family of four than do the smaller balconies at the other deluxe/DVC resorts. It really is my favorite, and I really wish I hadn't let my guide talk me out of an OKW waitlist over BCV.
