Had another wonderful stay at POFQ. The party consisted of my parents and me. We were there from Thurs.-Sun. in room 7131. The room was a tight squeeze for three adults. I shared one of the beds with my mother and it was managable, but I was glad it was just for three nights. The room was spotless and there was a fridge in a wooden cabinet. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. It was a great stay and I can't wait to go back!

Welcome Back and I hope you enjoyed your trip... I am going to WDW in May with my Mom and we are staying at POFQ. I noticed you stayed in building 7 was that a ground floor room or an upper level room?? How was the walk from the boat dock, bus stop, dining hall, and pool?? How much could the refridgerator hold??

Sorry for so many questions I have never stayed this hotel before and I just want to be prepared for my Trip

Thanks and hope you had a T-I-G-G-E-R-I-F-I-C Time!

7131 was a ground floor room. The first number in the sequence is the building number, the next is the floor number. I thought I wouldn't like being on the ground floor, but I really didn't mind it.

The room was about a five minute walk to all of the amenities, since they really are all rather close to each other. It wasn't bad at all.

The fridge was the size of a dorm fridge. I'd sat it was maybe two and a half feet tall and one and a half feet deep. My guess is you could hold two or three six packs of soda plus assorted other goodies. Just watch for tall items, hight could be a issue.

I think you will love POFQ. I certainly do!

Thank you for you quick response and thanks for the info, I was nervous as I had requested a ground floor and I think it will work out great for my mom who just got done with 2 knee surgeries and 1 back surgery.

Hope you had a great time

Thanks for your report! We will be staying at POFQ for 2 nights at the end of our upcoming trip. Haven't stayed there before, so I was interested in your experience there. Sounds like we will enjoy it! Thanks for posting. :)

I love POFQ and I'm glad you had a great trip! 3 adults in one of those rooms is a tight squeeze...we had to do that once...eek :sad2: Fortunately, it worked out!

So glad to hear that there is a fridge in the room as DD just started medication for an ear infection and will have to finish taking it on our trip. My only request was for a non-smoking room as DS has asthma.

Msstedom- Is Building 7 non-smoking? and how was the weather - did you get a chance to swim in the pool? My kids can't wait to get there.

Thank you in advance for any info you can provide!!! :cheer2:

Thanks for the report, the POFQ seems to be the moderate of choice for most users (though the CBR has a following as well).

On Super Bowl Sunday I told my wife I wanted to change course from staying completely offsite at the Homweood Suites LBV, to a mix of offsite/onsite at both Universal and Disney. While watching the game Sunday evening, I booked the following for our trip Feb 18-27 (under 2 weeks away)!

The 1st 2 nights we're staying offsite at the Homewood Suites LBV ($107/night), the next 2 nights we're staying at the Royal Pacific Resort ($244 a night) at Universal (FOTL passes on a holiday weekend (Presdients Day) should be a major plus), we're ending our stay with 5 nights at the POFQ (AAA Rate of ~ $145/night).

At first we weren't keen on hotel jumping, but I think this will give us a good flavor of both Universal and Disney (I wanted 3 nights at the RPH but the 19th is sold out, so we stuck with the offsite Homewood Suites an extra night). I'm a tad nervous about the small rooms at POFQ since the 2 FS beds will have to hold myself, my wife, and my 2 boys (12 and 9), but I'm sure we'll manage!

I believe there is only one smoking building, and it's not 7, but I can not remember which one it is. I need a non-smoking room for my allergies and I've never encountered a problem.
I did not get a chance to swim in the pool. The weather was pretty cool (low 60s), and I spent almost all of my time in the parks. You kids will love the pool, and the great thing about the Port Orleans resorts is that you can use either pool. So if your kids aren't thrilled with the Dragon pool at FQ you can take them up to Riverside to Old Man Island, which I think older kids would prefer.

drizzo- did you mention your ds's asthma when making the reservation? My DS3 has asthma too and when we made the reservation I told her and she put non-smoking room guaranteed- not just requested. She said they do this for people with medical reasons. I don't think you'll have a problem either way b/c so few of the rooms are smoking- just thought I'd let you know for future reference. princess:
