We (DH, DD 11, & DS 10) just returned from 8 glorious days at PO-FQ. If anyone has any questions, I'll be glad to answer them.

Welcome back!! We'll be there in 46 days and we are so excited. We have never stayed at PO/FQ. Did you like there? Is it as beautiful as the pictures show? Did you have an easy time getting your requests met? Our daughter and new son in law will be on their honeymoon while we're there and I want them to have a really nice room with a view of the river. It looks so romantic. Also, are there any tables outdoors where you can take food from the food court and eat outside? Thanks.

I just read your post: My husband and I stayed there last month and loved it as well!

As far as requests go, be sure that you have paid for the upgrade ($15/night) for a king and/or water view. Moderates rarely give upgrades and you wouldn't want to take the chance on their honeymoon.

We took our chances and had to wait a night for a king room to come available because we didn't pay the extra $ when reserving. We ended up paying it, but moving rooms after one night isn't much fun.

It is a beautiful resort! Our only requests were water view (which we paid for) and non smoking which we got also. We were in building 2 which is on the southeast corner of the resort (2nd floor) and had a wonderful view of the river. There are tables around the pool and outside the food court that you can take your food to.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will most likely stay there again on our next visit (unfortunately probably not for a few years!). Even though our building wasn't the closest to the bus stop, it still wasn't a bad walk (unless you're sitting at the bus stop waiting to go to TL and realize you don't have yours or your DD's tickets and have to RUN back to the building!). The boat to DD was one of our favorite things about this resort.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Where does the boat to DD drop off at? We're hoping to go to Planet Holloywood on our first night instead of hitting any parks. If I recall it's easy to get between the 3 areas and I think Planet Hollywood is in the West Side????

Do the busses stop at POFQ before heading over to POR?

I just changed our reservation from AS Music to PO-FQ and was so glad to hear you liked it. We will be there on April 13th for 5 nights. Right now we are booked for 2 connecting rooms (guarenteed because of DS medical problems). I am wondering if you think it is worth it to pay for the upgrade to be able to request water view rooms. Also, DH is 6'5" so it would be nice to request a king bed as well. Would love to hear about the pool as well as I have read that some people thought it needed repairs. We would like to be close to the pool with the 2 kids but don't want to be too far from anything. Any advise you could give on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Thank you for answering my questions everyone. I'm so glad to know those of you that have stayed there really enjoyed this resort. We have tried several times to stay there and something always got in the way. We have paid for the water view. I'm hoping we get a view of the river and not the pool but the pool does look pretty neat. Happy to hear there are outside tables. We really enjoy having a meal or a snack outdoors. Did any of you go over to PO/RS and take the carriage ride? That sounds really nice.

Glad you enjoyed PO-FQ! We are staying there in May. It seems everyone who stays there loves it. I'd like to hear more about the rooms. Was your room clean? Carpeting in good shape, etc.? Decor? Thanks!

The boats to DD drop off at the Marketplace, just outside RFC. Planet Hollywood is considered on the West Side - but it is the first thing you come to if you walk through PI. There is a "shuttle" boat from DD/Marketplace to the West Side, but it doesn't start until late afternoon (4 PM I think). As for the buses, yes, they stop at PO-FQ before going on to PO-R. So you're always the first one on and off. The boats to DD are just the opposite though. They pick up at PO-R first, then PO-FQ, so at peak times (starting around 4:30 - 5:00 PM) you could wait for a while before there's a boat to DD that has any room on it.

Our room was clean - obviously not new. The carpet and walls could stand to be replaced/painted. But mostly all we did in the room was sleep and get ready to leave, so it was totally fine.

I hope y'all have a great stay! I can't wait to go back!
