Hi, my name is Rachel and we just returned from Disney last night. We had a wonderful time dispite it raining our entire trip! We r a fam of 4. Mom Dad and 2 boys 2&5

We arrived on 8/18 and departed 8/22. We stayed @ All Star Movies

The resort was great, the room was clean, the pool was clean (even though we only got to use it 1 time)

Mon- Arrival day: Check in went smooth. Weather at that point was just cloudy. Went swimming then ate at the resort food court

Tues- MK: Light rain which left the park very empty. We had no wait time at all for any rides:thumbsup2 We did dumbo 1st then IASW,Winnie Pooh, Snowwhite,PeterPan flight all b4 our 10:10 ADR @ CRT! So that tells u how empty the park really was. CRT was excellent! I will definatly go back. We waited a little to get our picture taken, which came out great. The food was excellent! Right when we sat down all the princesses came over to greet us one by one. They all loved my home made autograph book:) The rest of the day was smooth sailing. We did everything! Our favorite was Mickey's Phillarmajic. it was the best, my hubby even loved it. My little guy loves pirates so of course he loved the Pirates of the carribean ridepirate: It rained on and off all day but i have to say that was the best day of our trip weather wise. We left the park around 4pm and we had done everything. I cant image how our day would have went if we had to wait in lines, so i guess i was lucky in the sense. We went back to the resort and ate a meal at the food court. I had the salmon dinner which was excellent. We were all in bed by 9 pm.

Wed-Animal Kingdom: It rained all day! We got there right when the park opened and headed straight for Kilimanjoro safari. We didnt wait at all! We went on the first then did all the other attractions. My kids r 2 & 5 so we couldnt do every little thing. We had an ADR for 12:30 at Rainforest Cafe which was excellent. My kids loved it and my hubby loved his meal. He got the trio Steak/ribs/shrimp. My 5 yr old really did not like the dinosaur ride. I knew it might be too much for him but I thought maybe he would like it...but he didnt. He didnt cry or anything but he kept his eyes shut the entire time. The Lion king show was the best! Definatly do not miss it! We got an excellent seat, right up front! W didnt care for the nemo show though. We left the park around 3 and went back to the resort & rested for a few hours and had dinner at Chef Mickeys @ 7:50 pm.

We loved chef mickeys! My little guy threw up right when we got seated. Our waiter was kinda rude and didnt even offer to help me. Every1 was just walking by my as I was wiping throwup off my son and the high chair and their rug. The people sitting next to us helped me thoguh, they gave me all there napkins;) After i got most of it cleaned a waitress came over to help me, she was very sweet. All the character were very friendly and posed for pics. Mickey & Minnie tended to stay in that large dinning area in the middle for most of our meal. We were seated in another area right next to the buffet. The fact that they spent so much time over in the main area kinda made me mad but then b4 we left they did pass our table so I kinda asked then to come over to us. The food was excellent. I loved the brocolli! They have blue cheese in it. I never saw that b4. I would definitaly go back to chef mickeys, plus i think it was kinda cool seeing the contemporary resot. After we left we got to see a little bit of wishes while we waited for our bus for AllStarMov. All in all our day was great, dispite all the rain:)

Thursday- Hollywood Stu:We slept in a little this day. We were so sick of being out in the rain for the past couple days we figured why rush:confused3 Why rush to wait at the bus stop to get soaked? why rush to walk around in the rain? why rush to deal with those ponchos! We arrived around 10 am. We saw all the shows which was great! We especially loved beauty and beast. The line for Toystory mania was way too long. By the time we made our way over there the line was 90 mins long and the fast passes wernt until 6:30 pm. we did some more stuff and came back and the line was just as long and all the fast passes were gone! We didnt end up waiting. I feel kinda bad cuz my kids LOVE toy story, but they hate lines so i think they were ok with it. Plus we went on the buzz ride at MK which to my understanding is kinda like that. We left HS at 5 pm. This day was the most tiring of all. I found it hard to navigate around HS. Between going to the rides and tring to make it to shows on time and trying to beat the rain, I feel like i walked all over that park! We were all over the place! The parade really wasnt that great either. I dont know if it was just cuz of the weather but it really wasnt a parage. wew saw buzxz and woody and mr incredible on floats that it. I thought we would see all the characters. Im kinda mad i stuck around for that. we ate lunch at Pizza Planet. It was cool. The kids love toy story so we had to go to Pizza Planet. It was nothing to rave over but it was ok. I had a turkey leg! It was huge! it was good, but i would never get one again.

For dinner we went to Planet Hollywood. We werent gonna go at first cuz we werent motivated to go out in the rain once again after drying off and relaxing but i talked my hubby into it. Our meal was ok. The atmosphere was great!

I really wanted to do fantasmic but I couldnt see making my family be out in the rain again. I was disappointed we missed it but every1 else just wanted to get dry. We didnt get back to the room that night until around 10:30. Hubby and I ordered room service. 2 little peices of cake and a beer each (It was my birthday) so we had to celebrate a little;)

Fri-Departure day: After waking up to rain once again...we were ready to leave! I feel kinds sad. I spent so much time planning this trip and it was really dampered by rain. We had a good time but how much of a good time can u have while getting rained on. We left the resort @ 9:30 and headed home. We had a long drive back to Pa.

We had a wonderful trip. We had tons of fun and disney was everything we thought it would be! The rain really stinked but we made the best of it. My little guy was mad we didnt get to go swimming more but I'm not one of those people who swims in the rain! I couldnt believe how many people were in the pool when it was raining. I guess they figure they might as wll make the most of it.

AllStar Movie Transportstion: The bus system was ok. I have heard alot of stories and opionions on what people think of the bus system. I thought they were just ok. They wernt really too crowded but then again i went in the middle of a tropical storm.

Mid day Naps: i have heard alot of controversy on this board whether or not a mid day break/nap/swim is necessary. In my opionion...I dont feel that the busses were that convienient to just "go back" to ur resort mid day. That would have took a huge chunk out of our day. But then again when i went it was not hot and there were no lines, so maybe if the situation was diffrent i would be saying diffrent.

We ate breakfast in the room everyday. It really saved us money. I brought small boxes of cereal, which the kids loved, and bagels and cream cheese. We rented the fridge everyday. They just layed it on the floor, i thought the presentation of our room could have been a little nicer but all in all it ws great. next time we go we want to try a nicer resort but i would stay at All star Movies again:thumbsup2

I really feel kinda cheated that it rained on my vacation! 1 year of planning and this is what I get! Thats bad luck. We loved disney and had a wonderful time and cant wait to go back. But I feel like i didnt get to enjoy everything. Alot of trip was rushed to find shelter from the rain. it didnt rain everyday all day but it rained at all the wrong moments (ex: waiting for the buss). yeah well what can I do:)

Thanks for listening to me go on and on. I'll post pics in a little.

Sounds like you had a good trip, except for the rain. Sorry the weather was so bad. I guess that can happen anytime you go in August. I hope you got some decents pics. Welcome back. Now you can start planning your next trip! :flower3:
