O.k... but here's the problem that many seem to be having with your opinion. I agree completely that you have every right to your opinion. Not everyone enjoys the same things and that is perfectly fine. What bothers me.. is that you have never started your own thread with your concerns and complaints. Instead.. you chose to sit back and wait until anyone posts a positive review and jump in with your complaints. OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
If you feel that strongly about it.. I will ask you for what feels like the one hundredth time..Why not start a thread and share why you dislike CSR so much. It seems like the polite and most practical thing to do rather than jumping in on every single thread you can find where someone is sharing a positive experience about their trip.
And.. I detect a hint of "Oh boy was I swindled by the positive CSR threads"
No... you read them.. just like we all did.. and chose to book and stay there on the opinions of others. There was no secret plan to trick you into staying at CSR. People loved it.. posted about it.. and you made your decision on those opinions.
I once again am truly sorry that you did not enjoy your experience. I just don't understand why you have to continue for months and months to jump into any single CSR thread you can find to express your displeasure.
I am truly enjoying my stay here.. as others have.
Again.. for the love of all things holy.. start your own thread.. list your complaints.. and let others make an informed decision. Why keep threadjacking every positive post you can find???

Very well stated...and I am so glad you are enjoying your stay at the CSR.

I respect you opinion and your right to express it here.

I will express a balanced view of y experience, and will continue to do so. My family had a miserable time at CSR and people seeking help should know everything is not rosy about the place. I will gladly lend the poster my opinion and my advice. Posters are entitled to know everything fairly about CSR.

I have posted an original review of my entire trip including my feelings about CSR. I don't feel that I am hijacking a thread when someone asks for info.

Posts like yours provide no information at all to the discussion of the thread and are simply argumentative and initiate debates. They are usually Closed by the Moderators...is that your goal?

Simply ignore my posts if you don't like them,...that is your perogative.

Here is my original recap of our trip for your reading pleasure:

No need to ignore me or respond to me for that matter. I am simply stating my opinion. I want to make sure that people are aware that CSR is not a great place to stay. My family did not enjoy the place.

I researched this website and was convinced that CSR was a beautiful wonderful resort by all of the glowing reviews. I unfortunately discounted the negative reviews. I was wrong. I wasted my money and my family's time by staying at CSR.

I am not going to "move on" as other posters suggest. I will continue to provide my opinion on the place. I am surprised that so many people take it personally when something is said negatively about CSR. I am just relating my view.

I read your review and I am glad that you enjoyed yourself.

Yes, we had a GREAT time for the seventh stay and can't wait for the eighth stay at the CSR next year. I understand you didn't like CSR and it is not your cup of tea or your family's (my boys loved it and if they ever go back with us that is where they want to stay). What I don't understand is why you continually hijack a "positive" thread on the CSR when you can contribute to the far and few between that are negative reviews of the CSR. The original poster had a wonderful stay at the CSR, you didn't. Leave it at that. You prefer the Wilderness Lodge, and you couldn't pay me to stay there--not my cup of tea to deal with rude CM's and lousy food. But I don't go on positive reviews of it and complain.

And you are right...no need to respond to you. I will ignore reading your posts from now on. Life is too short to deal with such trivial b.s.

We will be arriving next Thursday for a 3 night stay. Our group will consist of my mother, sister and neice. This will be my neice's first trip and she will celebrate her 4th birthday while we are there. My mother has problems walking long distances, we want to be close to the dig site and a bus stop. We are not concerned about being close to the central building.
1) What would be some good buildings to request?
Cabanas are nearest to the Dig site--I was going to say 8A or 8B but I saw this map and it looks like there are a lot more letters for the 8 bldgs then there were last year? Anyone know about this?
http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/cspringsmap.htm
There's a bus stop right behind cabanas 8A

2) How should we put in our request? fax or phone? we had our request noted by our TA when we phoned her.
3) Has anybody used a resort wheelchair? What was the process?
Sorry, can't help with this one
4) Any special things to do at the resort with my neice?
Mine loved the pool--at 10 am the lifeguards let all the kids sit on the steps of the pyramid and then turn on the water. 2 cute things to look at are the 3 caballeros topiary by the fountain in the Casitas section and the flying donkey in the gift shop--these make great photo ops. The hammocks by the cabanas are great too.
Have a great trip!

Well we just switched to CSR for our December trip and I am really excited about it. Just to have the queen beds is enough for me!!! However, the resort does look very nice and peaceful. Heck I am always up to try something new and if we don't like it well then that's that. Oh well we still went to Disney anyway! However, my goal is to stay at every resort on Disney property and this just gets me closer! Thanks for the report!

No but I think it is your goal. What room were you in, what building? Any pictures of your stay at CSR?

1. The DIS map is not valid. Use the map on the CSR FAQ III or on my website below.
2. I do both.
3. Never have used one.
4. Watermice are available too.

Thank you GK90 and Buzz2001 for the tips. I was concerned that my questions got lost with other posts. I really appreciate your responses.
Buzz 2001- Do you have the fax #?

WOW, I am a little taken aback by some of these posters on this thread. :scared1:

I am also one that had a horrible time at CSR. Like many posters, I read the reviews and thought what a beautiful resort. We disliked everything from the room to the Pepper Market to the staff. Never again. :headache:

I don't understand why people are jumping all over REDC. Aren't people ALLOWED to dislike the CSR? Good grief.

If someone had posted a few more of their own negative thoughts on CSR, I would've been saved some headaches. :headache:

As for "hijacking this thread"....I have read MANY MANY threads where someone will ask a question about POR or CBR....then, a well known poster jumps on with CSR info when the OP didn't ASK for info on the CSR. The hijacking is a 2 way street.

I think the reason people are upset with REDC is the fact that he always comes on to the "positive" reviews to say he doesn't understand why someone likes it (although he avoided my positive review from our 7th stay). I have no problem with the fact that he doesn't like the CSR and did not enjoy his stay. Everyone has different tastes and that is why Disney has so much to choose from.

But why he has to come on with negative comments on a "positive" thread are beyond me. He should post his remarks to those "negative" threads. All he is doing is taking away from the original point of the thread.

I'm sorry you didn't like the CSR either, but glad you gave it a try.

Gang, members can post opposing views of your favorite resort and they have the right not to expect to be flamed for their opinions. Not every resort is for every person, whatever the reason may be. Personally, I was curious about this thread because I'm always curious about what makes folks tick when it comes to CSR. We're looking at coming down for a Disney trip next year and I was hoping something had changed at CSR if it were once again our only option. I've stayed there twice now and both times, I came away from our experience with "meh, is that it?'. It wasn't for us. It's nice to look at but that's about it. Food is the most overpriced of any I've seen on property. The area is far too spread out. The theming is simply "fine" but doesn't blow us away.

Just because a resort is your own personal favorite doesn't mean it's for everyone. AND if someone wants to post their opposing viewpoints, it's fair to do so. You can choose to skip over their post and go on to the next. AND putting a different opinion is healthy because it gives a newbie a less biased view when they're doing research for an upcoming vacation.

You're right Rick. There is no problem with DIS'ers posting all views but why choose this thread? This is a "JUST BACK" thread. Just people saying welcome back or asking questions. This wasn't a "looking for CSR views" thread. These two posters are obviously just trying to stir up trouble.

HI,.

Back from CSR and we had an awesome time! I have to say I read all the good and bad reviews about this resort before we went and was a little leary about it. BUt we had NO bad experiences at all. We were in Cassitas Bldg 2 Rm 2274 . And here is what we thought.

1. Conventioners--yes there were many , they were polite and actually looked envious that we had our Mickey Garb on and they were in suits and wished they were not. Were they loud and obnoxious ,,No not at all ,, yes they were drinking by the quiet pool and socializing but we just went on our way and paid no attention to them.

2. Resort is absolutley Gorgeous, the grounds are very well kept ,, the room was spotless ,,, and the whole feel of the resort was RELAXING.

3. Transportation for us was not a hassle we used Bus Stop # 1 never waited more than 15 minutes which was no big deal I was not in a hurry I was on vacation. From the parks also was not bad 20 minutes tops from the Magic Kingdom. And the bus 's for this resort Never over crowded, maybe time of year is why that was.

4. I think and this is my personnel opinion this is more of an Adult resort, yes there were kids , buts it seemed more adult like which is what we were looking for we traveled with no children.

5. Pepper Market and Maya Grill definatley great eating choices , even if I wasnt on the Free Dining plan which we were. I felt it would have been worth the money, the food was fresh and a wide selection and the wait staff was great.

6.It is a Big resort to walk around but nothing that is not managable, my DH is 66 and didnt have a problem and we walked it a few times because it was so pretty I am 41 and we both walk alot so maybe this is why.

7. All in all we loved the resort had no bad experiences , Magical Express was great , and the CM's all were very nice and accomodating to anything we asked. I think sometimes its the way people are approached that makes them act in a bad way , I have read that some think the CM's here arent disney like ,, we didnt see that at all. I will post pics by the weekend I took a ton!

8. MNSSHP----LOVED IT! Best time we ever had !:cool1:
Back to the original topic of this thread...welcome back xbonnie38!!! Glad you enjoyed CSR and had a great stay!!

at the risk of being flamed..... it seems a lot of people have way too much time on their hands. why not use that time saying something, anything at all positive. life is too short to be so negative. think of the unfortunate folks who would pitch a tent just to be able to go to disney one time. very sad - some people are so ungrateful just to have a vacation - personally it doesn't matter where i stay as long as its clean and i'm w/ my family.
