Just Back from CSR!

We will be arriving next Thursday for a 3 night stay. Our group will consist of my mother, sister and neice. This will be my neice's first trip and she will celebrate her 4th birthday while we are there. My mother has problems walking long distances, we want to be close to the dig site and a bus stop. We are not concerned about being close to the central building.
1) What would be some good buildings to request?
2) How should we put in our request? fax or phone?
3) Has anybody used a resort wheelchair? What was the process?
4) Any special things to do at the resort with my neice?

My sister and I have annual passes and have been to the parks many times. We have been to the Pepper Market but this is our first stay at the resort.
I am soooooo excited about taking my neice for her first Disney trip. We will be getting her both a first time visitor and birthday button!

Great to hear all the positive feedback. Going in April 2009 and staying there. It will be our first time at this resort and now looking forward to it even more.

We're leaving tomorrow for our first stay at CSR! All these great reviews have me very excited!! :yay:

We're leaving tomorrow also for our first stay at CSR...can't wait...we've always had to stay at other resorts, due to the fact that we are a family of 5...but DD is now in university and thus won't be joining us...so we finally get our chance to try it....We live in Mexico, so the theming appeals to us greatly!!

Have a wonderful time and please let us know what you think of CSR. Hope you like it at least half as much as we do (and we love it!).

Your report makes me excited for our trip in 3 weeks to CSR! I feel more assured about the walking distances. Thanks for posting.

I am always surprised to hear that people enjoyed themselves at CSR.

Too big, too little good food, things too far away, and too much like a fancy Motel.

I am glad you liked it though, but CSR is not my family's cup of tea.

So you've said MANY times now and I've ignored you up to now. I could say the same about the Wildnerness Lodge which is if I'm not mistaken the place you enjoyed on your trip. Well, we didn't like it at all when we were there last week. We dealt with two of the rudest CM's we've ever dealt with in all our years going to Disney. But we don't go on a "positive" Wildnerness thread and condemn it the way you do every time someone posts something about the CSR. We were at the CSR last week for the 7th time for our 25th wedding anniversary and would not have stayed anywhere else (and we've book our 8th stay for next year) and I wrote a rave review (and if the trip had been bad I would have said so). Different strokes for different folks.

Wow.. haven' t moved on or started your own thread yet... :rolleyes1
I happen to be at CSR for our first stay as I type...
My whole family LOVES the Pepper Market for it's variety, We have enjoyed the pools every day and the CM's have been wonderful and friendly.
The amount of walking has not been an issue for us at all.
Overall.. we love it here!:)
To each their own:)

We leave tomorrow afternoon for our first trip and are getting so excied. We will be at the CSR for 5 nights instead of 4 nights because of Hurricane Ike here in Houston and the reduced flights on the weekends. We had to change our flight to tomorrow, so we are arriving a day early. Yeah!

No need to ignore me or respond to me for that matter. I am simply stating my opinion. I want to make sure that people are aware that CSR is not a great place to stay. My family did not enjoy the place.

I researched this website and was convinced that CSR was a beautiful wonderful resort by all of the glowing reviews. I unfortunately discounted the negative reviews. I was wrong. I wasted my money and my family's time by staying at CSR.

I am not going to "move on" as other posters suggest. I will continue to provide my opinion on the place. I am surprised that so many people take it personally when something is said negatively about CSR. I am just relating my view.

I read your review and I am glad that you enjoyed yourself.

Posts like this scare me a little, but I think the positive experiences far outweigh the negative, and I am going to go and try it out myself and make my own opinion on the resort after I've tried it. I don't think things should be too bad, after all, we are in Disney, aren't we!!?? I am excited to try something new, even though we absolutely adored AKL on our last trip, we are going with friends this time and giving a moderate resort a try. I think we'll have an amazing time as the resort is the icing on the cake of our vacation, but the vacation is the cake, KWIM?! Go with a positive attitude and things usually work out fine.:)

O.k... but here's the problem that many seem to be having with your opinion. I agree completely that you have every right to your opinion. Not everyone enjoys the same things and that is perfectly fine. What bothers me.. is that you have never started your own thread with your concerns and complaints. Instead.. you chose to sit back and wait until anyone posts a positive review and jump in with your complaints. OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
If you feel that strongly about it.. I will ask you for what feels like the one hundredth time..Why not start a thread and share why you dislike CSR so much. It seems like the polite and most practical thing to do rather than jumping in on every single thread you can find where someone is sharing a positive experience about their trip.
And.. I detect a hint of "Oh boy was I swindled by the positive CSR threads"
No... you read them.. just like we all did.. and chose to book and stay there on the opinions of others. There was no secret plan to trick you into staying at CSR. People loved it.. posted about it.. and you made your decision on those opinions.
I once again am truly sorry that you did not enjoy your experience. I just don't understand why you have to continue for months and months to jump into any single CSR thread you can find to express your displeasure.
I am truly enjoying my stay here.. as others have.
Again.. for the love of all things holy.. start your own thread.. list your complaints.. and let others make an informed decision. Why keep threadjacking every positive post you can find???

You are stating your opinion as fact, as, if you disagree with me your an idiot. Choose your words more wisely, unless you think you are the end all to all hotel opinions and those who don't agree should get to the back of the bus.
