Just back - best and worst

We had a great time, so many good things it's hard to pick out one best thing:

-- Holiday version of Illuminations, Soarin' and Turtle Talk with Crush just reinforced Epcot as my favorite park.

-- Ditto for Segway tour which I did for the first time -- "you gotta try this!"

Worst thing: (really the only disappointment)

-- "Holiday Wishes" at MVMCP. I was disappointed -- make that bitterly disappointed. Unlike the Holiday version of Illuminations which takes the regular show and adds on, this show is completely different, and contains nothing of the standard Wishes show. For me the music/narration is the most important part of the show, and it was replaced by some sort of holiday-themed mush that was vastly inferior to the standard wishes score. The fireworks were OK but not any better than the past. I hope that the non-MVMCP Wishes On Mon-Wed-Sat were the standard show, but I didn't get a chance to find out. Since this is the only time of the year we can go, my "wish" is that they lose the holiday trash and go back to the standard Wishes show.

My fiancé and I did the Segway Tour in Nov 2004.

It was awesome. You do about an hour training learning how to stop, turn slow down and speed up.

Then you end up speeding along the world showcase around the lagoon before the park opens. The Tour extends past opening time, pretty funny to see some of the looks on people's faces when the group flies by them on these interesting looking contraptions.

I do recommend it,

JK

While I haven't experienced some of the things you mention, isn't Turtle Talk awesome? That attraction just captivated my kids like nothing else when we first saw it a year or so ago. This may be teh future of meet-n-greets.

Hmmm...I really liked the fireworks for MVMCP - but then, I am not that wild about regular Wishes. I agree that the holiday version of Illuminations is just awesome!!! I also saw Turtle Talk for the first time 2 weeks ago, and was very impressed.

We did the Segway Tour in October and we just loved it. It was a highlight of our trip. I would do it again in a minute. If you are interested, book it as soon as you can. There are 2 tours a day and each tour only takes 10 people, so there are only 20 spots per day. I would do the earlier tour so that you have more time in WS before it opens to the public

Saw the Holiday Wishes at MVMCP on Friday, December 9th, and we thought they were fantastic. Also saw the regular Wishes on another night and they were great as well. On the other hand, I also saw Illuminations on the 8th and it was wonderful as usual, but IMO the "holiday" ending was very nice, but not as nice as the Holiday Wishes.
