We just returned from our 12 day stay at the Beach Club Villas. We arrived just after noon. At check-in, I decided to see if there were any rooms with Illuminations view available and the CM said there was a room on the 2nd floor that was ready, so she gave that to us. So we (DH, DD & DS) head over to our room and the key doesn't work. Back to the main lobby of the villas and I call the front desk. The CM on the phone tells me that we are in room 436? So we go to room 436 and the card works. We walk in and quickly find that the room is not clean and that we are overlooking the pool (nice view by the way!!). Again, I call the front desk and I'm told to return to the front desk, so back down we go. The girl prints new cards and states they have been having trouble with the card printing machine. I confirm that my luggage will make it to the room on the 2nd floor and she confirms that there will not be a problem. Back up to the room on the 2nd floor and the key works, so we head out to the MK.
Upon our return at 8:30, we find no luggage and have to call down to bell services to have them bring the luggage. This was rather disappointing b/c we checked in at noon and would have thought they could have delivered our luggage during the time that we were at the MK.
Anyway....we did have a view of Illuminations and at times it seemed as though they were just outside our door they were so loud. Having had both views now (pool and epcot), I think I prefer the pool view. The fireworks are not as loud on the pool side and there was more to see. The two nights we tried to see Illuminations from the porch, we were attacked by some type of little bug that bite. We all ended up with tiny welts that itched for a couple hours. Nothing compared to mosquito bites, but still itchy!!
We used SAB almost every day! This year we found the kiddie slide and spent the majority of our time in this pool. They were painting the BC the entire time we were there so there was scaffolding up until our last 2 days...they finished up and removed all the scaffolding and were just replacing the plants and flowers.
Unlike our last stay, this time we could clearly hear our neighbors who enjoyed using their jacuzzi in the late evenings!!
The boats and buses were great. Longest wait was probably 10 minuntes and that's b/c we arrived just as the bus was leaving. We love the location of this place and being able to walk to EPCOT is great.
