We arrived home Sunday the 25th and I am not a negative person but the new systems did not work well with us we were there every morning at 830 for 900 opening and 3 rides at 3 different parks were down RR was down and we had chosen Toy story as FP+ so no go on RR first thing 2nd POTC Down our 2nd day in MK no FP on a bright note the line was only 8 minutes long when we did ride. 3rd Test track was down and again no FP+ for that either. It just threw kinks the whole trip and for the person that just got back Splash is down for refurb. What's up with the 10 minute wait on that??? you were taking about. I feel like the new FP+ systems is creating lines where there were none before we only got to ride a few headliners twice because of lines. I just plain hate it and as far as going back I don't know when I will return to the world because of this. I had not planned on posting how negative I felt about the FP+ systems but When I read the Thread JUST BACK EVERYTHING WORKS I had to put my 2 cents worth in the pot for what it's worth.

Did you notice that when a ride you have a FP for is down, they send you the opportunity for another FP to be used during that time?

Wow... so, someone has a good time, posts about it, and this irritates you SO much that you just have to post about how much you hated everything?

You said, "I had not planned on posting how negative I felt about the FP+ systems but When I read the Thread JUST BACK ALL GREAT I had to put my 2 cents worth in the pot for what it's worth." Which seems a bit mean-spirited. It's one thing to offer your experience, and share with others. It's another thing to stand there shouting, "Shut up! You're wrong!"

And it's like the icing on the hate-cake, when you imply they're lying with, "...for the person that just got back Splash is down for refurb. What's up with the 10 minute wait on that??? you were taking about."

Look, you're entitled to your FP+ opinion. You're even entitled to post about your own disappointment with it. But there's no need to attack other people, just because they enjoyed FP+ and happen to like it.

Yeah, sounds like lots of ride issues lately, sorry you experienced that.

No,with the old system I could have got a FP and been on my way.

When rides are down during your fp+ window, you should receive an email with a fp+ good for other rides (I believe it is an anytime fp). Did this not happen for you?

Sorry your trip didn't work out.

They really need to do something about POTC. It was down every time we tried to do it back in October.

You know that if your FP is wrecked because of a ride closure you can get a different one, right? We went over to the FP kiosks in the park and got a FP to go right on Haunted Mansion.

(This is different than getting a 4th FP because we didn't have to wait for our other two FP+ to pass before getting the HM one. The POTC FP was our first of the day and we were able to get HM in that same time frame)

Test track went down during my time with the fp+ the cm informed me my fp was good once the ride to use at any part of the day.

So it would seem that you could have went back once the ride was back up and running.....

Splash mountain is scheduled for refurbishment 1/5-1/31. It always goes into refurbishment in January due to normally cold weather and people avoid it from getting wet.

And it seems like most of your issues stem from rides being down instead of FP+. It's unfortunate when rides are down but that's life. Being operated every day of the year, rides are bound to be down from time to time.

And as far as top attractions being out of fast passes... That's why you have to strategize what you want to ride and plan accordingly. Especially for Epcot and HS, right now there aren't a bunch of attractions to choose from, so FP's in those parks are gone quick once the day starts and normally aren't available for 4th and 5th FP selections.

The only thing I dislike from the new ways are the tier system. I would like it a lot better if there were no tiers and you could choose freely. This might make it a little harder to get some big attraction fast passes, but at least it would free up from being forced to select FP's some people really don't want.

I did not have FP for the ride that's why it was a problem. The rides are separated into different groups so I chose a different ones a was going to ride these rides first hence me being there at 830 into morning. In HS I picked toy story knowing RR would not fill as fast. BAM it was down off kilter the rest of the day. Same with TT no fast pass so blew my morning. we did half a park in MK and Epot so we were on different sides of the park each day we where there. POTC was not a fast pass either for me why I don't remember. I think because I had never needed one.

You took my post totally wrong if that's what you think. enough said.

how is it the fault of FP+ that rides were down?
and rides that you did not even have a FP+ for anyways?

the rides that you said were down are known for going down at inopportune times.
all 3 of those rides were down when i wanted to go on them in july.
RnRC and TT were down when the park opened but i waited it out and after about 20 minutes they were back up.

POTC was down in the middle of the day so i watched the enchanted tiki room and came back and it was back up.

As other have said, you experienced some bad luck that really has nothing to do with the FP+ system. Bad luck in regards to ride shutdowns is an independent topic. Still unfortunate that it hampered your vacation. I can empathize.

Yeah, it feels like the kinks were more due to rides being down than the FP system - which is a valid, yet separate, problem.

I am being as honest as I can I went into the new system with an opened mind but I just plain don't like if you do good. I just don't think it works. I never go when crowds are high, but I would hate to see what it's like when it is high.

Ditto. This is what happened on our trip. When a ride was down we were given an option of getting a FP for another ride or riding the original once it was up any time until closing.

That's awful!

Were TT and RR down the entire day, or just for a bit?

Did you get to ride them eventually?

Why did you hate FP+? None of what you posted tells about your experience with FP+. I would be very put off and getting a CM to get me a freebie FP to something if TT and RR were down for my entire day-- I mean those are the one thrill ride at those parks.

So where you actually used FP+... like to Toy Story... did that work as expected? Or Soarin?

You only got on a few headliners twice... do you mean you only got on 2 headliners in a day? Or a few twice aka 3 or so rides twice each for 6? That would be okay, I think. I'd think without fastpass at all, I could get on 6 headliners in a day. TT would probly have an hour wait, but if it came down to riding it or not, I'd probly wait it out.

Are you going back in 11 mo and 2 weeks like your sig says? Would you do anything differently in your planning? I will be going a month before you... so hopefully TT and RR will not be closed. I'm already vastly disappointed that POTC might be closed for a major refurb... but if that is all that is closed, it'll be bearable.

My biggest concern has nothing to do w FP+, rather is how under construction the Poly will be...

There are several posters that don't seem to understand what OP is saying. It sounds to me that OP had FP+ for attractions A, B and C with the intention of getting to the parks early and riding headline attractions X, Y and Z. Unfortunately, X,Y and Z were down which meant that OP would have to come back later to ride those attractions which usually means long lines. With FP- this would not have been a problem, as she could have obtained FP- for those attractions for later in the day. If her FP+ for A, B and C were for later in the day, then OP would have to wait until the 3 FP+ were used before trying to get additional FP+ for X, Y or Z, when in fact those might not be available any more. There's just less flexibility with the new system, so when little hiccups arise it can throw a big wrench in plans.
