RHMH, Be sure you have your room ressie linked to your name. Cause you should be able to do 10 days at 180, for your adr's.

Candi, I hear you. We have been getting your canadian winds and freezing temps here too. But, just like you now we are almost all melted and in the 40's today. This has been the weirdest weather for winter.

EE22, I got a mailer from wdw for our trip in May. And it said our date for the FP+. Now it did not say "trial" or "test" like it did in Oct. So I am thinking this should be the final roll out??? I believe it is 60 days out. Thou paperwork did not give alot of info about the fp+.

Tomar & TP2 glad you have kept your power.

Hello Eeryone !!!
First let me say that we went to see "Saving Mr. Banks" last night...Sooooooo Good...I cryed...OK Ok, I know Im a muuush
But it was really very good, however,I don`t think it was for Younger Children , I suppose that`s why Frozen is out as well right now... it was a truly heart warming film, and I think Emma Thomson, was great, and Tom Hanks was just soooo good as "My Uncle Walt" !!!

About Adr`s....Yes ....RHMH, you should have your resort ressie linked to MDX so you could do 10 days worth of dining adrs all at once....I Did that , and made our ressies last week. However, after I did, I couldn`t see them on "My reservations", so I called, and spoke to MDX tech support. Spoke to the same person twice in one week, he remembered my name as I did his,..anyway, it seems that we have gotten a new Computer for Christmas here in the Tomar Household,"Finally" (and now waiting for my youngest DS to install it for us), sooo (Wall-e....the name of my older computer )...is not showing my adrs ....I put the MDX APP on my phone, and low and behold , there they are !!! (Can`t wait for (EEEEVA...new computer)...to be installed !! lol
sooooo, here`s a little tid-bit I found out from the MDX Tech as well, If anyone is going to try for a BOG FP+ for Lunch....it will come via an invitation email just before you are leaving !...That`s what I was told, as we only want to do a lunch there , just to see the restaurant...., and will not be included in any FP+ ressies you make for MK attractions....
On MDX right now, there are 2 sets of magicbands for us to customize, I told the Tech CM I cannot wear it, and he said, just customize it, it will come to your home anyway weather you do or not (if not, it will be in Grey) and ask for the RFID cards when you check in... re: medical reasons....(gonna customize mine in Yellow and Pink, just for souvieners lol .......
It only has to be 9 inches away really, but mr. Tomar said..."no way...not taking the chance"....I agree

Thank you God, the temps here in NJ have recovered into the 30`s and 40`s (I can`t believe I just said that) rotfl...but I really couldn`t deal with sub zero temps for much longer ! O M G !

Hi everyone!

I am not sure how I am going to like making FP reservations! I will miss the paper passes that you could give away if you were not going to use them.

It will feel like I have deadlines if I have to time my whole day and I will NOT like that.....don't I have enough deadlines already?

Does anyone want to give me a quick run down on how the FP will work on the band? How do you remember when they are for etc?

Oh well I guess I won't have a choice!

Tomar - I won't want to wear the bands either, so I am glad there will be an option for getting a card.

Candi- I cannot wear the magic band, but, even though Mr. Tomar can, he really doesn`t want to wear it either !...You can opt for the RFID cards when you check in, but I suggest that you go through all the motions of customizing the bands, with adrs, FP+, and your tickets, as that will be in the system. the most important thing I think, is to put the MDX app on your mobile phone, this will give you the opportunity to change or delete options like a FP time or an adr (if under the wire of 24 hours).....(since "ALL" restaurants are now under the 10.00 guarantee )....
Im not a fan of deadlines as well, especially on vacation, things should be done in a slower pace...in my "Magical World"....however, I know that since the FP+ system has developed...it must be important to, at least, have something written in stone, if you really want to see a special attraction....you can always change the time if it is available, on your MDX....Im just learning myself, so if someone can clarify, please jump in here ....

Well I am hoping that Disney has wifi that I can use for their app because I refuse to pay for data on my phone....plus for us Canadians it would be international roaming data!

I am going to use the app on the Disney Fantasy at March break this year because you can use the ships wifi for the app for free. Be careful as any other data will be charged to you.

Hi everyone!

Well I am certainly no expert, but we did the "test" for fastpass in october.
And there where a LOT of bugaboo's back then. So sorry if things are different this summer / spring.
1st off > we could NOT do ours early. Only because we had AP's and I needed to activate them yet. So unless you have an active tix it could be an issue to do early.
2nd > Bring your computer. After activating > that night took me hours late at night to set up our fp. Helps having a with you > cause on the phone can be even lengther.
Yes, think all wdw resorts now have free wifi. Most in rooms but definately in main areas of resorts. Even parks have it.
-- So now that we signed up our tix, and linked everything > fp+ comes up as an option > with dates. Now I understand there are "tiers" meaning you only can have 1 from this pile and 1 from this pile so on so on .....
You pick your rides then they offer you options: do this ride at this time & offers you 3 choices with your rides listed and a time schedule. ....
Of course this does NOT take into consideration what your adr's are or timed. So you are moving alot of options. Planning your days.......
The more day = longer it takes.
The good: you know you will have a fastpass for said ride at a certain time. If you liked getting to parks not at opening > you still have a ride.
The bad: it is not flexible. Can really screw up your dining. Or your plans.
The Ugly: Saw a lot of fighting. People without bands > complaining about "band" people. After the 1st day > we only wore ours at time of ride. Otherwise in purse.
The bands themselves are just rubbery plastic. fairly stable and colors are interesting. Of course are selling all kinds of jewelery for them..... .
The will give you them at check in if you do not customize yours, or order too late.
The Stupid: Oct we checked in and out 3 times in same room. Yes they had bands for all of them. The is cost effeicent.
And yes, I have already recieved the notice to order our "new" ones. I went ahead cause they did not always work.
Unfortunately > one band would not open door, for our room at all.
We did not use it for purchases. I know us and shopping like to know what I am spending.....
==== Super Mky > is a planner so of course > I was covered with my times schedules. Yes they will be on your smart phone. But I like a back up plan. So I always have index cards set up for the date. All park times and special events listed daily. then all adr's list. Then I added our fp+ times so we had it all in writing in my hand. Just in case.
Using the bands > just hold them up and the green mickey lights up. Your in.

Super MKY - yes it helped.

I guess we will try them in Feb 2015 when we go back to the parks....wow that seems so far away! The last time we were there was in May 2012! We did Universal last March break and are going on the cruise this year.

I miss the parks!

In 2015 it will be our 25th wedding anniversary so we are planning a big family trip. We are saving our points so we can get up to 4 rooms and can sleep 21 people! LOL

I am already looking forward to that trip.

I got the coolest magnant from wdw resorts. It was a welcome letter about our trip and contained a magnant giving the dates to do adr's and fp+.
Think the fp+ is 60 days out.

We miss cruising. Lots of choices now. But, we are passport missing so no cruise for us. Or at least till we buy passports.
I always wanted to do one of the double castaway cay trips. We just love their island.

Well, I am sure your getting this crazy snow and freezing temps again tonight. I am soooooooooooooooo over winter.

Candi: you'll have to watch the wifi at Disney. It's very spotty and there were many times I was using wifi and it would go back to 3G. I had the kids look up stuff lots of time because they have unlimited data still and I don't. I'm sure the international charges are huge.

not user friendly and crashes on you

I did have more luck with the app later on but still not great choices most of the time unless you want to swap out a really popular ride for something no one likes

MKY- meeeeeee !!! I saw that the AP rates were out thursday afternoon, I thought it wasn`t in your time frame, (I think I told you about the previous release date , I thought that`s when you guys were leaving...
I am sooooooooooooo waiting for the next set of AP discounts for July ....watch....the BW will be 5 % ...or not available ...ugh !
As it is , we are paying rack rate for 3 nights , added to our DVC ressie,

One bedroom standard view at the BWV- Yes mky....it would be on the side of the entrance to the Villas....but if you ask for a high floor, across from the bus stop, you guys may have a nice view of the landscaping, and the fountain in the pond where you have to cross over the bridge to get to the entrance....

Had a great weekend here. Even with the snow and sub zero temps.
Saw the Phantom of the Opera in chicago friday nite, was really good. Had a nice couple of days away.
My asthma is back under control again. Lets see how long that last.

Cannot believe it is almost feb. already. This winter is flying by. And considering weather > it is a good thing.

We have been in negative numbers all day > and they keep saying tommorrow will be worse ??? OMG The funny part is that we have had beauitful sunny days.

S24/7 I would certainly think there is a July thread. We are not the typical planning thread > but we are all long time veterans and happy to help with any questions. Seems someone is constantly going to wdw from our thread. Happy planning!

I am starting to think we need a new thread with a different name. Seems are "old" name is kinda misleading?

Well is everyone ready for super bowl? Tomar & TP2 that will be around you guys. Should be interesting. And outside. Great year to try that out.
I will be working and miss most of the festivities, thank you work.
