June, July, August PLANNING thread

It hit 20 today so I wore shorts

I'm still in the 300's for planning.

thinking about HP since there's a new part for the twenty somethings in December. Evil plot to have time alone with DH

- Forgot to let you guys know.. 2 weeks ago Midori was playing basketball in one of her school games and was injured. DD tore cartilage in her ankle and is out for the rest of the season.

Midori is very sad - last year to play middle school sports with her girl friends and can not play the 21 games left in the season. The group will attend High School next year and not everyone will be going to the same school.

Midori did very good yesterday.

Surgery at 8:15 AM and out at 9:00 AM, into recovery until 12:45 PM. Checked her out, signed paperwork and paid my deductible and took her home.

Midori was acting silly ..... first time for pain medicine. We were laying in bed watching TV and once in a while she would just start laughing for no reason at all and then looked over at me and said why did I start laughing?

I told her it was the medicine. She asked me when she would start feeling pain, told her if we do exactly what we need to do, she would only feel pain when she got up to go to the bathroom and to adjust herself in bed.

WELL - 2:00 AM this morning, the other side of Midori came out. WOW!!!! she was a bear and blamed me for all the pain she was experiencing. Got her to calm down and gave her another pain pill and she went back to sleep.

Making her a cake right now and waiting for her to wake up.

If they extend that I will be all over it. We are coming in 2 days early now planning to stay at the nick hotel, but my DS6 is not interested he wants more time at Disney. So I will just extend our visit at BWV from 9 days to 11 days

How did I miss this thread?

We'll be at the Beach Club from 7/29- 8/5. Our travel agent called in our ADRs on Thursday while I was at work, and managed to get us everything I wanted: BOG, the Fantasmic dining experience at the Brown Derby, and the Dessert Party, along with all the others I requested.

Fingers, toes, kidneys, and any other body parts that come in multiples are all crossed for a PIN or a discount. My brother in law and his family, and my sister in law and her husband are all joining us, but staying at Carribbean Beach-- and my family of 5 will NOT fit into a room there. So a nice discount might let me convince them all to switch to the Beach Club, where we could all be together.

But, one way or another, it's going to be a great trip. After this winter-- and we're just getting started on February, which is always the snowiest month on Long Island-- all I can think about is those long warm days at Disney!

Stay warm. We are getting snow on our snow. So far we have dug out twice today and its still falling. Supposed to have another hour of this. I got stuck coming home from work and finally rocked my way out. My VW is toooooooooooooooo low. Might get Bug to take me tommorrow.

Thanks to all - Midori had a great day today.... used her crutches to get around the house.. Ate 2 good meals and in good spirits.. I made her Duncan Hines - Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcakes. - You have got to go to Walmart and get a box... WOW!! they are super good

Happy Superbowl Everyone!!! Denver is not doing so well.

So sorry that Midori is injured. Never fun to see your kid suffering. Happy she has a nice trip to look forward too.

Some miracle allowed the weather to hold out for the game today. It was beautiful but I got an alert on my phone for another winter weather advisory. More snow in the forecast. So done with all of this. And I agree, that I am so shocked that we are in February already. It seems that we got a little warm weather for the game and then back to winter by midnight.

EE22: You mentioned the rodent and I thought you were talking about Mickey. I then realized you were really talking about that groundhog!

Need to come up with a tentative plan in case we are able to go this summer. Not sure when back to school is yet, dates may overlap. I am willing to go for a short week but who knows if we will even have the time. So I need to figure out the top 6 ADR's. Kids want Hoop and Castle. That eats 4 credits alone. May have to decide between the two. We shall see. At this point it is all just a pipe dream but with our ADR date being February 21, I feel forced into making some decisions.

Hiya everyone,

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I worked but we where slow. Which is sooooooooooooooooo not like January. Think all those flu / rsv germs are locked up in houses > and not spreading around. No one is going out if they don't have too. Only crowds I've seen are at Grocery store.

TP2, I see your counter says girls only? Woo > on 1 hand fun but I know you will miss DH. Always plus and minuses. But still fun. In about 10 yrs > you might be looking at just an adult trip. OMG. Those girls are growing up.....

RHMH, Glad DD is feeling better. Just takes some time. Hang in there.

EE22, Yes, I think I am going to find that groundhog and give him "a what fore" in the words of carousel of progress.

It is beauitful here today Sunny and clear skys. Ooooh forgot it is a high of 10 today.

Are we getting used to this???? I have notice Bug and I are looking at houses for sale in florida alot more these last weeks. You never know.
I am thinking about 5 to 10 years???? Think I will go buy some lotto tix.

It's an interesting day on Long Island, with yet another snow day. And a forecast for Sunday night that looks..interesting.

My poor kids-- the ones I teach I mean. I'm in the middle of an IMPORTANT chapter (on factoring; I teach freshman Algebra this year). They're going to use this skill every single year of high school, then some of them will use it again in college. And I can't seem to get one consecutive week of classes in so I can build some sort of continuity. Not that I'm complaining- I love snow days. And besides, my family and I are warm and safe and dry; I have nothing to complain about. In the meantime, I'm getting tons of schoolwork done as I alternate between it and the Dis.

Hiya everyone!

Alice, sunday should be bad. We sent over some bad snow again. Sorry. Sat. snowed here all day. Started with pretty flurries at 9am > then at 1200 decided to start a blizzard. That lasted till about 9pm. Ugh.


RMHM, We are finally getting used to this weather. Got out of the house a bit this weekend. Just couldn't stand the idea of staying home all day again. So far I have driven through to blizzards. In a month's time. Both times we where up in chicago > and drove home.

Candi, We went to the chicago auto show this weekend. Very nice. I know your not working there anymore > but looks like things are getting better. The auto show was packed!

I am glad to hear you guys are getting through the weather. Supposed to get sleet and freezing rain Monday and Tuesday.. - Why am I about a couple of days of possibility of bad weather when you guys have had weeks and weeks of winter storms.

On another note - Midori is doing super.. Walking on her ankle this weekend and she will try to tackle school without the wheelchair next week.
