I hope it goes smoothly. :rolleyes1 We are really limited on our resort choices because of our party size. We would probably stay at POR at $89 a night. That is such a great price. I wanted WL but we would need 2 rooms.

We have my sisters wedding on 8/9 so we really can't travel before then because of all the festivities leading up to the day. I wanted to leave on 8/12 but we just got the invitation for DH 20 year high school reunion and that is on 8/16. We really have no choice other than to leave on 8/18. Only problem is we would get back on Thursday and back to school is the following Tuesday. Not too much time to recoup but at least I won't be cutting out his reunion. The girls already starting asking where we are staying WHEN we go this year. Not even asking IF we can go back. I just laughed and said that I have not brought it up at all. They have the bug just as bad as I do.:goodvibes

Yeah, not a bad bug to have. I like the sound of it too..."The Mickey Bug!"

Well, they quoted me a price with a package but we have tickets from last year so we are better off just upgrading those tickets and not doing the dining plan. The DP would cost $106 per day and then we still have to tip. It came close to being worth it for us before but now it is too much with the gratuity being extra. There is no way we would spend $1200 in food. My family does not eat a lot. We easily share meals and are happy with some popcorn for lunch while touring the parks.

We did go that same time last year but it got busier once free dining started at the end of the month. Also, coming back so close to Labor Day increased the price of our flights. If she had not been sick it probably would not have been that big of a deal but after spending a couple of nights in the hospital, it just seemed a bit crazy. We will see, I still have to see if DH will even go. Thanks for the pixie dust, I know that was to help convince him!

Here`s little more Pixiedust for the convincing !!

So did everyone get the e-mail from the moms panel? I figure everyone who submitted a form with get one.

not me:sad1:

HEY!!! Your $89 deal is about what we had at POFQ (we had $74) when we were moved to AKL...the rest is HISTORY!!!:goodvibes

Hey everyone!

I would have loved to be on the mom panel but no such luck. :confused3

MYK - I would change the name as well. Isn't the mom panel the fabric on the maternity pants tummy area! :lmao: That is the first thing I think of.

TP - I too agree that destiny is working to get you back to WDW :worship: pixiedust: pixiedust: Here is a bit more pixie dust for you. That magical pixie dust seems to be working wonders for my mom so I am hoping you have good luck with it too.

:cheer2:

Hiya everyone,

TP2, WOW 40% that should settle the onsite vs. offsite. Lots of choices. Hmmmm, how about 2 rooms at all stars? The second bathroom alone is worth it with the girls? And a separate room for you and dad? all star also has the family suites, not sure if that would be discounted to. Did you check (just for the heck of it) the contempary resort garden? You can get 5 in their rooms. The garden is really pretty reasonable(this is a bit of a secret). Poly garden is a bit more in case your wondering but also holds 5. Sorry we won't get to overlap our trips. Hope things work out. Would be nice to get away after all the wedding festivites.

Yes, I got the mom's panel email too. I started to read it:idea: thinking "someone must of quite and they are now inviting me" Read farther than my name and realized this was just the launch. :rolleyes1

Sounds like some people are still thinking the Princess and Pirate party will still go on in august. I hope so. Was worried since it is running longer into spring that it might not be in august.

Glad to hear everyone working on the adr's. Still have about 20+ days to go.

We didn't get our survey at work. It will be a surprise visit in the next few months, and we where all guessing this week but no. Really want to get that over with (soon).

Happy Planning, mky:cutie:

I think it is hysterical that I got the 40% code this year. I do feel like I was targeted and was sent it for a reason. Maybe they have us in some computer as having problems last year and figure this will help ease some of the pain of losing all that vacation money last year. Figure they need to bring us back so we can have good memories instead of bad. Who knows.

MKY: It definately helps to decide the on or off site dilema. No question now. I will call and check out the Contemporary. Thanks for the tip. :worship: I did ask about WL but she said our party size would require 2 rooms. I did not even think of the other resorts over there because I figured they would be out of our price range. Those rooms are spacier too. When we went to Niagra Falls last summer we could not believe how big the rooms where. We said that if the rooms were this big in Disney we would never have any problems. We usually feel like we a roughing it because of the room size.

EE22: $74 at POFQ and moved to AKL. I don't think I knew that. That must have been the most wonderful trip. We need a little something like that to happen for us. We have never gotten any wonderful surprises at checkin, always a problem because we had more than one room.

Candi: Thanks for the extra pixie dust. Hopefully it will work. We have been so busy I have not had time to sit him down to talk about it. I did mention I got an e-mail with a discount but we never got into the details. I will fill him in this weekend to see how he feels.

Okay, so I checked into some pricing and the Contemporary is not included in the special. I am able to get FW at $153 per night, Poly at $204 per night, or the values at $49 per night and get two rooms. Was not happy with food court at Pop and the amount of people there was overwhelming. We did enjoy it if we just wanted to hit the parks but it is kind of a been there done that and don't feel like I am missing anything not going back. I am thinking FW and then we will be able to stretch out and have a full kitchen. DH would love the outside deck and the theming. May make him more open to going back. Plus we could save so much not needing the dining plan. This way would give us space and the comforts of home. The BBQ would be great for DH to do the cooking while I enjoy the vacation. Plus the cafeteria has a great price for the lunch salad bar. We would also be really close to MK which is where I want to be. So has anyone stayed at FW? Do I really want to hear the reviews???:scared1:

Sounds like you have a good "base" plan in place. Hopefully everything will fall into line for you.

I am grateful we only have 4 in our family so I don't have the same issues you face.

We stopped at two because we didn't want to be outnumbered by the little ones. :scared1: Plus we would have had to have a bigger house, bigger car (I hate minivans for myself) and two rooms when we traveled.

Add to that the youngest would not have faired well as an only child (she is a Cancer) we quit at two kids. For us it is just enough.

So, good luck with the planning. pixiedust:

I am going to start the planning for our July trip.

Hiya everyone!:surfweb:

TP2, :yay: Wow, those are really good prices. Sorry about the contempary. That was not available for my bounce back offer either. Your Poly price is great too. My bounceback was around 220 for gv. I have been very interested in fort wilderness too, they offer some great prices here all the time & it seems like a cool idea for a vacation. The pictures I have seen of the rooms are really cool. My only draw back was the pool's. Not sure how close they are and they where just large no frills pools. I have seen the boat to magic kingdom, you pick it up at the marina. They also have the same boats etc. . available for rent down on their marina. I am pretty sure too that there is a boat that goes between the CR, WL & FW. Very convient. walk or monorial to cr and shop / eat (anywhere on monorail) then boat back to fw.
Here are some pictures to check out:

Candi, good luck with your itinerary for july. It is very difficult to plan 2 trips and keep everything straight. Without going into over planning.:upsidedow

Good to know about july hours:dance3: august won't be long now!:cool1:

MKY - Is there such a thing as over planning for Disney? :lmao:

We like the look of Wilderness Lodge - it reminds me a lot of Northern Ontario and parts of British Columbia (provinces in Canada for those who are Geographically challenged). But that my be why a lot of Canadians don't stay there...too much like home.

A friend of mine stayed there and LOVED it!

Candi, no no such thing as over planning. ;) I enjoy the wait & planning, but not quite as much as being there.:thumbsup2

mky:cutie:

Candi: Someone tried to talk me out of 3 kids when I was pregnant with my second. :rotfl2: I always knew I wanted the third. He brought up all the same points you did but we didn't care. My DH is one of five and I was one of two. I always felt like I missed out on something because there were just 2 of us and DH wanted the big family. I drive the minivan (which we resisted for a LONG time) but actually love it now and can't imagine going back. I am a SAHM and care for my neighbors kids who work. I guess I just have the mommy thing in my blood.:lovestruc

Good luck with your July planning. The anticipation and planning is half the fun.

MKY: Thanks for the pictures. My only drawback is the pool. The boats do connect. All I have to say is after last year, I don't know how much the kids are going to want to do the pools anyway. Maybe just a chance to cool off. I guess going over to WL is considered pool hopping, they are not sister resorts right? It does seem to be pretty easy to go back to the room in the middle of the day if we are at MK or Epcot. DH's big problem is the 18 hour days I like to spend in MK. I mean, you have to get there in the morning when it is not crowded and then you HAVE to stay for the parade and fireworks, right?:rotfl: This way he can take the boat back to the room and I can stay in the park and watch with the kids. They are bigger now so I am not so nervous doing it. They get the rules and don't run away.

I was tempted to try Poly but I can't justify the price difference. At least with FW we have the kitchen and BBQ so some of our meals can be cooked. We won't be dependant on the food court. I originally priced POR with the dining plan but you are looking at $125 per day for the dining plan for our family. When I priced it out seperate we were still close so it was worth it. This way we are close to MK and have some conveniences. I am just afraid of the pool and bad reviews.

EE22: I am glad to here that you know someone who stayed there and liked it. It is actually right up DH's alley. He loves westerns so the theming is perfect. Also it is pretty much a resort in and of itself. I can see going there and not hitting the parks. Of course we will, but I am just saying that I can see skipping the parks with all to do there. He would be happy sitting at the beach and taking in the sun. I would be fine with that if that is what he wanted to do some days.

I should probably reserve the room before the rate sells out.

fun.
