June/July/August 2006 Code watch

The passholder website has officially been updated with these 2 new promotions (one for a delux resort and the other for a DVC resort). As everyone has posted, the dates and locations are correct. Makes us all wonder what the future of AP rates hold now.

Thanks for the information. I have been lurking for about 2 weeks. I was staying at BCI, standard view at a rack rate of 305 or AAA 256. This morning, I had to move to the YC standard view with a rate of 189 in the middle of July.

As long as I can sit at stormalong bay, I really don't care where my bed is. I was all out of DVC points.

Thanks everyone gets the rate they are looking for. :thumbsup2

I have an OT question for you all regarding the Disney Dining Experience.
-It says it is valid for up to 10 people at a table. So if I buy one and present it for me, DH, and our two non-FL friends for one dinner tab, will that suffice. Or do they all have to be FL residents?

You can use it for anyone (up to ten) in your party. They don't care where anyone else is from.

Does anyone think they will have codes later on in August?

I sure hope so. We arrive at DW August 7 and would LOVE to save some $$$ with an AP rate!!! Last year during the free dining promo there were AP rates the whole time. I've heard posters mention that AP might not be released because of the free dining, but since we as annual passholders can't use the dining plan I wouldn't think that would be an issue....other than the rooms being full because of the free dining. But, maybe I'm missing something :confused3 ...wouldn't be the first time!!! :rolleyes2

I think that the value and moderate would be more popular on the free dining rate as they offer the best value, perhaps there may bb some of the deluxe or DVC left for AP :confused3

Good point....See, I knew I was missing something. So, maybe I still have hope for an AP rate at BC for mid August...

I am so happy for those of you able to take advantage of these discounts. It is about darn time. :thumbsup2

I am an FL resident (non AP) and am hoping for a discount to POFQ in mid-July. We shall see.

-Is there still a charge for Pleasure Island? I thought I read it was now free, but what do I know? hehe

THANKS. I just want to see if it is worth getting the membership card for the year. We are planning to eat in France on Bastille Day...so that will be $$$..plus plan to go back to WDW perhaps later in the year or January 07.

Hi Danielle The DDE card is good for 10 people regardless of if they are Florida residents or not. The only limit is that they will only take the discount from one check, so you cant have two bills and get the discount on both.
Pleasure Island itself to walk around is still free but the clubs charge an admission fee. The only one specifically that I know doesnt is Raglan Road and that is probably because it is a restaurant as well as having entertainment. Belle

I talked to a very nice CM about our trip (July 2 - 6) to see if we could get anything for the codes just released. He told me that the codes released were to fill out already full resorts. He said that June and the July 4th week are very full already and don't warrant codes. He said that he wouldn't be surprised if all codes now went to something like this - late release and only on the resorts that need additional occupancy. It's a CM, so take what he said with a grain of salt...

Just tried to book via the telephone for July 8, 9, 10 and 11. All sold out at YC, CB and BW. No rooms at all - rack rate or AP.

Even tried manipulating the dates.

So much for that!

Correction: I was able to get a Grand Gathering at BWI for all 4 nights - 3 rooms. Not sure why this made a difference but I'm relieved....

I'd like that very much as I don't really want to do the free dining, too much temptation to over indulge :teeth:, I would much rather have a discount.

We shall have to hope. After all this torture I would not like to second guess what Disney will do.

Lets hope Disney are kind to us :wizard:

I don't think it means no codes for August. If Aug. 5 started the free dining, then I'd be more inclined to think that free dining killed the AP rates. But the free dining starts later in the month.

I still find it hard to believe that WDW will be near 100% capacity in late August. Hope I'm right because that's when we'll be there.

Ah, well at least I can stop watching this thread now. We were June....booked Pop at rack rate last week. This is the first time since 1994 that I've paid rack rate for a WDW resort....we've used MK/Disney Club, public codes, a post card and AP rates during that time.

Add me to the group that switched. We had 2 rooms payed for at the Poly and switched to the YC. We added a night and moved up to water view and still owe nothing. We have never tried it before, but love the rate. Hopefully with everyone switching around it will open up so many rooms, that all of the resorts will have AP rates for all of you!! :)

Hi guys :wave2:
Just was able to make a ressie for the BWI @ 189.00 before tax :cool1:
that is going to take care of the 2 days we needed before our DVC stay @ SSR. I NOW have a Happy look on my face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:
And, my DH will now KNOW what all the lurking was about for weeks and days, (since he thought I was just going  )!

I am truly sorry for all the June travelers that have sooo diligently waited along with us in hopes for a discount too :sad2:

Ziggy, $390/night for a 2 bedroom at OKW. That's what I booked, it was originally $500, so I did good!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks that's good :thumbsup2 the AAA discount was $75, I hope they bring these rates out for mid August :wizard:

Do you think that people at the moderates might move up opening up a chance for a discount at the moderates. I would love to try a moderate, but without a discount -- it's just too high. I don't want to cut out all the extras. I cut enough just to have a vacation on disney property.

Great news for people that could use the discount.

I'm still hoping -- but I'm happy with the AAA discount I have on Pop.
