June/July/August 2006 Code watch

wow, i noticed the hotel that i wanted to stay at before was booked up and last night i check and they now have rooms, do you think people are starting to cancel because of this ?

Today is April 22nd. I believe now, after a little research, that we shouldn't fret over AP and Fl Res. rate releases for after 6/3 yet. I am confident something will be released.

In 2004, AP rates for July-August were released May 5th. In 2005, AP rates for July-August were released May 4th. I think we have about 2 weeks to wait.

Thanks for all who call and keep us updated! :flower1: I hope they are released earlier then I expect.

Yes. Perhaps that is what Disney is waiting for.

.

Yes, but some of us are waiting for June rates, not July or Aug...that's why we are a little nervous or anxious I should say.
:worried:

I just called to make another res and was told by the CM that they are experiencing Pre 9/11 crowds and have been booked solid for 3 weeks now. With that being said, the discounts are becoming less and less prevalent and an AP discount for the summer is questionable. :scared1: :scared1: :sad2:

Oh do I ever hope he was wrong!!! That's just enough to make me give up. WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!:sad1:

I hope AP rates come out on Monday, May 1st.

per my calendar - May 1st is "May Day", "Labor Day" in Mexico and a "Bank Holiday" in UK

For me May 1st is another day at work :goodvibes

Let hear it for us June 2006 WDW guests :cool1:

I know that it's been said that the CMs don't always give the same answers to questions about codes, and in this case I wonder. I just checked the WDW site and I could get a STANDARD room at AKL, POR, CSR, BC, YC, or POP for my mid August dates. Also, I've read on the thread that a few folks were able (within the past few days) to still get AAA rates. Sooooo, it makes me wonder, if we can still get standard rooms and AAA rates at popular resorts 3 months out, can it really be filling up that fast??? I could certainly be wrong, but it makes me wonder... :confused3

Mid August is always slower than June and July due to all Southern schools being back in session. This is one of the reasons free dining is being offered.

Bookings are up for May, June, and July.

Thanks Sammie, that makes sense....Maybe the August people have at least a chance at AP rates...

I was messing around with my dates again and there are now rooms available when there were not before. The plot thickens. Our plans won't change at all, I just wish I could stop checking so often for updates on the rates.

My travel agent thought the rates might be out by April 6th for June, July and part of August........but nothing. I made AAA reservations for our dates (July 17 - Aug 2) but am anxiously awaiting something from Disney. With gas so high you would think they would come out with AP rates as incentive!! :rolleyes2

I hear you loud and clear. My husband now calls me Dingmaster :rotfl2: because of SW Ding fares. All he knows is I am ALWAYS checking my laptop. I will do a load of laundry, check for updates, put up dinner, check for updates...so my day goes. :rotfl:

I am really hoping for this week. Without knowing I cannot book the rest of our trip and I am also afraid to book a flight. All this waiting is really nuts and unproductive.

Here is some pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: for tomorrow morning.

I have a trip planned for July 11th through the 27th for 2 adults and 1 child at the Pop Century. Today my friend decided that she wanted to go to Disney also. It would be her and her 2 kids, but they are older. She wants to get a moderate since her kids are too old for the kiddie pools that Pop has. They would enjoy the slides at the moderates and she doesn't plan on going to the parks as much as I plan to. We thought about renting together, but we want to do our own thing. She has a car and will be traveling to see relatives, et cetera.

She tried to book a moderate on Disney's website today and the only moderate that was available for 7/11 through the 27th was Port Orleans, French Quarter at the rate of $175.00 a night. All the standard rooms at $155.00 are going. Even if she tries to get an AAA rate it's still a little higher than she planned on going.

Since she didn't want to go that high she tried to book a value, and the only value available was All Star Sports with a preferred room or the Pop Century. Since her kids didn't want to stay at the All Star Sports or the Pop Century she decided to go off site since she wants to go to Universal and Sea World.

Can this be true? Are all the hotels booking up that fast for July? Even the moderates are booking up. If this is true, then Disney doesn't have to offer any more discounts. Can their website be wrong that the only moderate is the French Quarter?

I guess Disney is going to really do well this summer. People are really traveling again. At this point I am thrilled that I was able to get Pop with the AAA rate. I was thinking about buying an AP for a good AP rate came out, but I'm not counting on that any more. AAA did the trick for me. I'm happy with the rate I got. I wanted something better, but Disney's got it.

Good luck to all that have Annual Passes and are waiting for the code. I am glad that I didn't purchase the Annual Pass.
