June 29, 2008 - Magic - West Coast!!!!

We'd love to go to GC the Saturday before the cruise, but the weeks before include a college graduation and back to back work related trips...

I have a feeling that Saturday before will end up being a packing day! And without having to check any bags (since we live so close), who knows what I'll be dragging along! :rolleyes1

Anyway, what other excursions has everyone booked?

My husband and I are traveling alone...No children. It is our 20th. We are going on the 1 hour cruise in Cabo, the the beach buggies an hour later. In Mazatlan we are taking the tequila saddle tour, and Las caletas in Puerto. I am so excited. I think it is going to be perfect.

We are going to celebrate our ninth.

Have you booked dining at Palo for that (your) day?

That sounds awesome! How great for you both :) I'm so excited I can't even sleep these days...the planning, anticipation, etc. etc. just has me up A LOT at night. Oh well, it'll all be worth it! :thumbsup2

Rick and I purchased the romance package. I think it was about an extra 300 or so. We were able to make our reservations 120 days out. It really is awsome. We are going to be at Palo for dinner, brunch, and tea. This is our first cruise. Well.... Rick was in the Coast Guard for 22 years, so I guess it would be better to say MY first cruise:)

How fun to celebrate your 20th on the Magic :lovestruc

We're doing the Los Arcos Sea Kayak and snorkel in Cabo, but I'm still debating whether or not to switch it to one of the boat tours/cruises. At the time, I thought it would be different to sea Los Arcos via kayak, but we aren't that interested in the snorkeling part...

In Mazatlan, we're doing the canopy zipline since my boyfriend has never done it before--- and it brings you to a tequila factory ;)

In Puerto Vallarta, we're doing the horseback ride in the rainforest.

It took as a while to decide on these since the Mexican Riviera doesn't quite excite us because we've been there before, but we're both too hyperactive to stay on the Magic the whole time :yay:

I think kayaking sounds perfect. I am looking forward to the beach part of the buggie adventure. Just being out in the sun, and swimming is wonderful.

Are you eating in the first seating, or the second? I chose the first. I don't like to eat late. I would rather stuff myself early, and have a while to work it off before bed. Well......after a few cocktails of course.

Hi everybody,,, sorry for being gone for a while. I have been attending to Mammaw in the hopes of preparing her for the seven days on the Wonder on June 1. I'll only have about three weeks before I fly out to LA on the 26. Do you guys remember seeing anything about deep sea fishing in Mazatlan? I don't have any excursion planned yet, and thought about trying fishing in the Pacific.

The only fishing trip that I could see, was the Cabo San Lucas Sportfishing. It is 5.5 hours, and you must be 12 or older.

Hey Guys...I was just realizing this morning that the Magic will be on it's way out here this weekend....:woohoo: Those cruisers must be sooo excited! I can't wait til we're one week away :thumbsup2 Hopefully they'll all write up some really good trip reports and give us an idea how the excursions are. :)

:wave2: Hi guys. So, can anyone tell me what time they're planning on arriving at the port? My husband asked me yesterday what time we had to leave DL, and I was like....:scratchin ...dunno?! We wanted to enjoy DL on that morning we depart (we love :lovestruc DL mornings!) and heard it takes about an hour to get to San Pedro. But we also didn't want to miss anything good that happens on the ship before it disembarks. Suggestions? :hyper2:

Aloha,:cool1:
I think they start boarding around 12:00 maybe earlier. We are going to the pier around 10:30. We know there is going to be alot of people and I am not that familiar with parking.
Just going early just in case of traffic , parking issues or whatever happens.:scared1: I rather be safe than sorry.:dance3::woohoo::dance3:
It's also on a Sunday so traffic on the freeway is not as heavy. It will probably be cooler weather checking in early.
It's coming so fast. It's almost here whooohoooo:banana::yay::cake::rainbow::jumping1:

On the DL calendar, opening is at 8am. So I'm thinking that if we can at least get in a couple of hours and our favorite rides, we'd be happy campers (sailors) ;) Since we have the concierge 'offerings' in the morning, we won't have to waste time in a restaurant either. Grab n go :) Does everyone basically just wander around on the first afternoon before the drill? :confused3

I am going to bring my swim suit in my carry on, or under my clothes. I am going to board... Have lunch... I think there is some kind of tour the first day....swim...have a foofoo drink....check out the spa.....maybe an early afternoon nap. I want to do everything crammed into a few hours.princess:

aloha,
We will probably have some lunch, check to see if we can get anymore Palo's,take a dip in the adult pool and maybe take a nap .(LOL):rotfl::rotfl: Maybe we can meet on deck 9 some where and say hi to all our dis board members as we set sail.:grouphug:

Oh yeah...foofoo drink is a must! :rotfl: If we missed the tour on that first day, would we be missing much? I mean can we pretty much see the same thing if we explored the ship ourselves? Or do they show 'behind the scenes' type of stuff? :confused3

aloha,
They usually have tour of the galleys on the 7 day cruises. You go behind the kitchens an see were they make the food. It's a pretty cool tour.:thumbsup2

Ooooh, I think I'd like that one. :thumbsup2 But they don't do any of the wine tastings/martini tastings/etc on the first day though, right? Sorry for all the questions, it's all just popping into my head  . I mean do we get a daily Navigator upon check in to see what we want to participate in? :confused3 Just consider me *The cruise newbie in training* :lmao:
