Quick clarification (I thought I did this but I can't find it), the 12 year old in our family is a girl!

We are traveling on the 6/27/09 cruise (after just having to reschedule from our original 8/1/09 cruise) and need to find some pre-boarding buddies for my girls--especially my 13 yr old!

We just discovered that our oldest won't be in the teen club but will be in the "tween" club and it may help ease her frustration if there are some other somewhat mature 13 yr olds to hang with in the OQ area.

Please post if you have similar ages going on this trip!

Rosie - I have Facebook! Yay! Haven't gotten around to putting me in the main photo (right now it's of our puppy) but I think the kids have posted some Beauty & the Beast stuff out there and somebody put out a photo of me helping DS with his makeup before a show. I'm not sure if you have my full name from some of our offline discussions to find me, so I will go out and try to find you.

Tell DH he doesn't have to wear ribbons ... that's why I tell my guys to put them on their lanyards or somewhere that doesn't look dumb!! Especially for the macho guys!

SO, here is my question for you girls. DD and I - now that we have similar sized feet - like to get different kinds of sandals. And yesterday I layed out a bunch of cruise outfits, and of course each one needs different sandals. I wonder if DH will have a problem with me packing ... oh, like ... 15 pairs of sandals??????

Mary: I had your names from the previous post, it's the rest of the gang I'm wondering about. Taryn's feet are bigger than mine so no shoe sharing for us. I'm only planning on bringing flip flops, one pair of sandals and my slip ons for the plane (just cause we have to take them off...). My guys swear they are traveling with a carry on only...
I bought some flip flops from LL bean, really cute but rub my feet the wrong way. Taryn's don't... go figure...

A couple questions:

2) We will be at Animal Kingdom Lodge from Weds to Sat before the cruise........anyone else there?

Also, we are up for meeting people at the pre-board, at the Goofy Pool, and Sunday morning before KeyWest. Just let us know what the plans are.

We are hoping to find a friend for our 10 year old DD who is a bit shy. Our 12 year old son is also looking forward to making new friends.

Hi IrishBear - shoot me a PM with your home address and how many ribbons you'd like. I'll put them in the mail right away. Anyone on this discussion who wants to will wear them (if not wild about putting them on your shirt, put one on a lanyard, or on your beach bag, or on your camera bag, or whatever!!) and this will help us to identify each other.

This worked well on my last criuse, especially before the meets (or for anyone who missed the meets). The kids loved looking out for them too!

They came in very handy for those families who got to the terminal early, they were really the only way for us to 'find' each other before the officially-scheduled meets.

I hope this makes sense!

wwwoise, I'm on facebook also, but haven't done much with it, I'm trying to keep a head of my students, but falling behind quickly!

I'm looking at the shies I was thinking of taking and while it's not quite 15, it's more than 3! Sometimes , I wish we were close enough to drive, so that I wouldn't have to worry about how many suitcases and what they weigh. Last year we took a Princess cruise out of New York, since we took a shuttle up, I didn't worry about what i packed. Talk about overpacking! and I still found stuff i wish I had brought with me!

3 weeks today, and we'll all be enjoying Key West !!! Boy, that sounds great!

What grade do you teach? I am going to be busy this morning as I have a whole bunch of year-end teacher comments to translate, school here ends on Thursday for traditional calendar and June 24th for year round.

I just got two FE's from eBay. A little pricey but considering I have no time (or skills) to sew it will save some time.

Mary and Belle: I told DH about the 11 pairs of sandals and he said "why do you need so many"??? GUYS!!! I think I'll stick to my original plan.

I need to lose about 10 pounds FAST. DD and I bought these matching dresses (if you look at my FB photos, my DD is wearing it in the pictures with her bro). It fits a little snuggly on the chest. Let's see how that one works out. I am going to try to walk between now and the cruise (yes, I am an optimist).

Last question: Did we decide how many days for FE gifts or are we just going to be surprised??? Either way is fine with me.

I teach technology to k-5th grade students. School,here ends the 24th for the kids, the 25th for teachers. Because of snow days, our year was extended. I just finished administrating 3 weeks of MAP testing and am looking forward to getting back to my normal classes.

I need to lose at least ten pounds, so maybe we could be virtual walking partners for the next two weeks! I need to start doing something, but finding the time seems to be the problem!

Fortunately we are driving. We just did a pack the car experiment. Wanted to see how many bags will fit into the trunk. I'd prefer to drive the van for the room, but the car will save on gas. I think I can make do with 2 pair dress sandals, 2 pair flip flops, 1 pair sneakers. I could cut it down one more if it weren't for the formal nights.

Hi Alisa, Alisha here! That won't be confusing on the cruise!! We are also staying at Animal Kindom from Weds to Sat before the Cruise! My kids are a little younger that yours. My DS will be 9 on the Cruise and my DD is 6. Maybe we can meet down at the pool one day while at AK.
