June 22 Magic (Western)

Hey guys, just got home from work and my computer is fixed!!:Pinkbounc HOpefully the virus is gone for good!! Well, it sounds like everyone is really gearing up for this cruise even more now that it is crunch time. Hope everyone is well and happy packing!!!

Cam, thanks for the great cruise list. There are a lot of Dis families on this cruise!!! Anyone else out there that hasn't posted? I finally got a new bathing suit, so I'm almost set!! I wish we had an extra room to start packing in, but I'll just have to wait. Last year I REALLY overpacked--hope to do better this year--we'll see. Beth

Good Morning....just getting ready to head to work...again!! Just think 14 days from today we will be on our way to the Radisson!!! Still have a lot to do as far as packing, but need to get things ironed and stuff from the cleaners. The worst is figuring out the shoe situation!! I wish I could bring all my shoes, but that is not possible. It is suppose to be a great sunny weekend here in Syracuse so maybe it will prepare us for the cruise. Keep in touch!! :smooth:

Well . . . I picked up my tux today and I absolutly love it. A week from right now we will be pulling into OKW for a week before we get on the ship. I am so excited, it is all me and my family talk about. Just gettin things together for the trip. Doin some shoppin this weekend for the last minute stuff. I need to get another pair of shorts or two, and maybe a t-shirt or two. I have work a few more times before we leave as well . . . just trying to keep myself busy so I don't go nuts in anticipation. Anyway I will talk to you all soon and a little over two weeks !!!!

Good Afternoon all,

I hope every one has a great weekend. Hope all those graduations aren't too sad. I am going to do a lot of shopping. Next week end I hope to be ironing, washing and packing. It has been very cloudy and overcast, very hot and humid so I am ready for a vacation and a big frozen drink.

Have a great weekend and se every one in 14 days.

Wow! Less than 2 weeks to go! It's coming.......

My wardrobe, evening wear and tan are really starting to come together!

I think about what those 7 days on Magic will be like and how nice it will be to board the ship knowing I'll being meeting friends on Deck 10!

:)

Good morning,
I just wanted those that are interested, I just received some new pamplets on Key west - things to do - things to see (coupons are part of it) - if anyone is interested just drop me a note and will make sure you get them either by mail or if you are staying at the Radisson will leave them there - I will be in Key West the following weekend and will pick up other booklets that I can bring home and share with the Western cruisers. (I am going to see and check on my family that still live there)
Call me at 800-950-4559 or email me at snelsonbrown@aol.com
I sincerely hope that when you are in Key west that it will be a pleasant visit.
Stay safe and keep the excitement going as you plan your cruise.
Always
Shirley

Counting down the days...

Well it is Saturday morning and 2 weeks to go. Just dropped Rianna off to Referee Soccer and it is almost 80 degrees here today. We have our last cruise caribbean party tonight and will be taking care of the documents. Have a great day everyone and Shirley from the Perfect Gift, it was nice to talk to you today. Take Care Everyone!!!;)

Wow two weeks from today and we'll be sailing once again.
Cam, thanks for the great break down of where everyone is from.
Looking forward to meeting everyone at the Radisson. Have just about bought everything for trip. Will start to lay it all out this week. Saw the Ya-Ya sisterhood yesterday, great chick flick. A friend at work is turning 50 so we are making her a YA-YA hat to celebrate.

See you all soon,

Yvonne

Hi All,

Now that I have the suitcases out I have a few final questions.

Beach towels- Do I need to bring any? I know they have them at the pool, but what about for excursions? CAn we take some with us off the ship?
Shampoo, conditioner & soap- Do they supply enough for four people to shower up to two times a day?

Are t-shirts and shorts okay for sea days, even to wine tasting, the ship tours and the art of entertaining, etc.?

Do the kids use the soda mugs or are they a pain to carry arround?

My youngest was born in Germany- do I need anything special for him other than his birth cert.?

Thanks again for all your help.
See you in less than two weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!yeah!

No need to bring beach towels. Get the towels by the pools they day before an excursion and put them in your beach bag. When you get back on the ship, put them in the dirty towel bin by the pools. Shorts are fine for anything around the ship during the day except Palo's brunch and dinners. Days at sea, we just wear our swimsuits I have a dress like coverup that is white to go over. DH wears a tropical buttondown shirt with his swimtrunks. Being booked through AAA, we will all have soda mugs. The teens have been told that there should not be a soda charge on our bill as it is included. If they want a soda that bad, they need to get their mug or carry it with them. I suggest to put your last name on the mug and cabin # on with a permanent marker so if it does get lost, it is recoverable. I would call DCL 800 # to make sure about the one that was born in Germany, but I would think a birth certificate is fine. She shampoo thing, we bring our own, in small travel bottles, we each like different shampoos and bring our own supply, I have seen what they supply and I don't think it is enough for 4 peopel 2 showers a day. Well, heading out to some authentic festivals here today. The Greek Festival and then over to the Polish Festival. We also have a Hot Air Balloon Festival going on too. We have had a great weekend for everything. Well, talk to everyone soon...........

Wow!! I thought this morning, for the first time, "our vacation is next week!" :bounce: :Pinkbounc How amazing!!!!

Howard and I finished up with Special Olympics Summer Games yesterday. I was at the university from 6:30 (to get breakfast and coffee for the Air National Guard, who provide operations support); Howard came down at about 8:30 with Jen and Andy, and we all worked our bottoms off until about 5:30. The event was a huge success--I think we had over 1000 athletes, and nearly that many coaches and volunteers. So my committee did about 2000 lunches and about 3000 servings hospitality tent refreshments. It was so much fun, but, boy, do I have a funky tan with raccoon eyes from my sunglasses (and squint lines between my eyebrows) and stripes from my shorts and socks and a chairperson golf shirt that was 2 sizes too big, leaving stripes on my lower arms. :( I'll defer to Laura and Roberta to tell me how to remedy that at the tanning salon--tanning lotion on the lighter parts? or sunscreen on the darker parts? and what to do about my dark brown nose and all those new freckles? UGH!!
So, we still do not have the suitcases out  , but my niece is not arriving today, so I still have tonight to clear off the guest room bed. :p I keep thinking of things I need to do and just took care of putting my in-laws names on our blockbuster rental account. also finally got a new tv/vcr for our bedroom so they'll have that. Also created a medical treatment authorization for my inlaws for the kids, and gathered emergency vet information in case anything comes up with Cali.
And, yes, I went to a hairdresser supply place and bought small shampoo & conditioner bottles that are a bit bigger than travel size but smaller than my quart size bottles :) , so that Howard and I can take our own shampoos and conditioners. I love the ones in the cabin, but they leave my hair too soft and fuzzy. And everyone knows the caribbean sun and water just torment your hair. :( The small packs of minnie lotion are great for my office staff--just a way to say thanks for anything you did to make it easiser for me to get out of here or so I'd have anything less to do when I get back. They love them :D
Well, back to work. I have to sort about 2600 pages of pre-trial documents into 59 contention categories, so I am stuck in my office on this gorgeous Sunday. UGH!!!! :(
Talk to you all later.
OOPS!!! One last thing-- received new info for the cruiser list in 8 emails today. will update and resend in the next couple of days.

Well, we got our tummys full of great Greek food and continued on to the Polish food....The authentic dancing by the kids was great and we enjoyed it very much. Looks like rain heading in for central NY this week Tuesday - Thursday. Hopefully I can get some things ironed and get more clothes ready for packing. Forgot to go to the cleaners, will have to do that this week. Hope everyone is gearing up for the trip. Keep in touch and take care and stay safe!!!

Good morning everyone!!! Just think, 2 weeks from right now we will be enjoying our first day at sea!! Sounds like Roberta and Cam had really busy weekends. We spent the weekend watching Lyns play field hockey and Logan play baseball, and lounging by the pool! Now that school is over I have time to really start getting organized for the cruise. We leave next Tuesday for 3 days in the parks before the cruise! It's a good thing that I'm a planner...the rest of my family would wait until Tuesday morning to throw everything in a suitcase and walk out the door!
Anybody planning to decorate your cabin door? If I have time I might pick up a few things but right now that's last on my list!
Hope you all have a great week and try to stay cool!

Beth

Hi I'm new to this board. My mother, daughter and I will be sailing on the Disney Magic on June 22nd. This will be our first 7-day Disney cruise. We sailed in 1998 on the Magic, 1999 on the Magic and 2001 on the Wonder all 3 day land/4 day cruise. We have decided to stay 3 extra nights at the Grand Floridian after the cruise. I have two questions. (1) When should we expect our cruise documents? We have always had them by now and are getting a little nervous. Called Disney and they said that they mailed to our AAA Travel Agent on May 30th. I talked to the travel agent on 6/6 and she still had not received them. What's up? (2) Since this is our first time doing the Disney thing after the cruise, I was wondering if we would have to re-register at the hotel. In the past we registered once at the hotel and that was it. I would appreciate any info that you can provide.

Donnetta

I would have DCL trace the Fedex Package. It is overnight or 2nd day delivery to the AAA office. They should have a tracer # on the package that was sent and see who signed for it or if it even was delivered. You have have had them by now from AAA. Welcome to the boards and we will be meeting Deck 10 Starboard side overlooking the Goofy Pool with Green Ribbons on. Look for the green ribbons to find us and wear a green ribbon yourself. Glad you can join us on June 22.

Hello, Everyone!

Only 5 days until my mom and I leave for Florida:) My niece's graduation party on Saturday was wonderful - great weather, lots of people, and a good time had by all! It's Florida weather here in Ohio today - in the 90s and very humid.

Donnetta: I booked my cruise through AAA, too. My AAA TA received the documents on Friday, May 31, 2002. Since it's less than 14 days until the cruise, you should have the documents. Your AAA TA should be able to track the documents. That's a TA's responsibility. My TA is wonderful and always solves any problems that happen. As I stated above, my mother is coming on the cruise with me, too. We are staying at the Swan for a week after the cruise. I have a page in the documents book that has a confirmation number for the Swan on it and it is also to be used when I check in at the Swan. My Swan reservation was included in the documents because I took advantage of the $99 a night deal. It has since been raised to $149 a night. I made my reservations for the cruise and the Swan in the beginning of January 2002.

Keenercam: I received the green ribbons in the mail today! Thank you very much! It sounds like you and your family had a very busy weekend.

In a couple of hours, I'll be watching my beloved Red Wings defeat those pesky Carolina Hurricanes. I hope that game 4 is as exciting as game 3!

Ok, got my Linz home from school and had to do some shopping for her. She needed some warm weather stuff. Her school is at the foot of a mountain so she still had cool weather items.

Finished up this office day, only 2 1/2 more to finish up then we are out of here! Can't wait...

I can't believe how pysched everyone is on this board...I swear, by the time we get on that boat we will all need Ritalin or something!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Wes is already packed for the most part. I have some things together but not like him. He is so much more organized than me!

Well....not much longer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Well, including today 8 more days of work!!! Hope everyone is doing well and we are looking forward to this so much. Will start ironing and more packing tonight. I hope everyone going down to Disney before the cruise has a great time. Keep in touch.....
