June 21, 2014 Disney Fantasy Western Caribbean Meet Up

Thanks so much. That was just the information I was looking for. We have taken about 20 cruises, but this is the first Disney cruise. We knew right from the time we booked that this would be a cruise like no other. The more I read, the more excited I get. We are suffering from cruise withdrawal, having just cancelled a Celebrity Equinox TA that would have finished a few days ago. Waiting to hear from the insurance company. This cruise will be the replacement for that cruise. Lets all keep chatting.

First time Disney cruiser here with questions:
The pirate show and fireworks look amazing. Since we cannot stand for long periods of time, are there seating options? in all the pictures it seems everyone is standing.
We fully plan to go on Aquaduck. Since you seem to start and end in different areas, are you able to take your personal belongings with you in the raft (like shoes)?
We are staying at AKL for three days pre-cruise. What time can we expect to be picked up by the Disney bus?
Thanks and keep those posts coming. I feed off them and my excitement continues to escalate.

FYI the Pirate show on the Fantasy is in two part. The first part more for kids is at 7:30pm and the second part more for adults is at 9:45pm. On the Fantasy last June almost all the chairs and tables on deck were taken away by the CMs earlier in the day. You will need to show up real early to find a seat with a view. You will find on the pool deck (11) that if you are seated you will not be able to see much. I would head up one deck to 12. If you are only really interested in the fireworks and not the show then there are plenty of chairs in the adult areas but you will not be able to see the show. If you have a verandah on the starboard side of the ship you can watch the fireworks from your verandah.
There is a place at the entrance of the Aquaduck step to place your stuff. No problems.
As for the DCL bus from AKL pick up can be anywhere from 11:30am to 1pm. You will get a note in your room the night before as to the time and place where the bus will pick you up. Please note the CMs will come around 8-9am for your luggage. Your luggage will be shipped separately in a truck and you will next see it outside your stateroom on the ship.

Thanks so much. Looks like we'll go up one deck and hope for the best. If it does not work out, we'll just watch the fireworks from the adult area. Perhaps the show would not be that important to us. We're probably the only people on the planet that did not like the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. We love every other movie and everything that is disney.

Sounds like our assigned time to get on the ship (forgot the letters) won't matter much since we'll be getting there on the late side. That's fine except we are hoping to get reservations for the Paulo brunch and that might get us there too late for that. Fingers crossed.

Thanks, everyone. You are all great.

There is the Port Arrival Time which is the time you are supposed to arrive at the Port Canaveral terminal. This is not the boarding time. DCL started with PAT's when the Dream/Fantasy came out. The PC terminal is only so big and with the larger number of the guests of the Dream class ship caused overcrowding in the terminal at first. You select your Port Arrival time when you complete your online registration (since you are a newbie that will be 75 days before the cruise). The second part is the boarding number. You will get your number when you check in at the terminal. Your boarding number is tied to your PAT. Therefore if you arrive at 11am but have PAT of 2pm you may be waiting a long while before you actually board. If you are arriving after 1pm the boarding number is mute since there is no lines by then and all you will do walk straight onto the ship.
As for getting a Palo brunch you can try to get a ressie when you do your online check in at 75 days out. Please note that all the veterans will get first dibs. Platinum/Concierge get to check in at 120 days out, gold members check in at 105 days out, silver members check in at 90 days out and the newbies at 75 days out. Do not be surprised if there are no Palo brunch ressies left when you complete online check in. DCL does hold back approx. 1/2 the ressies to be filled onboard. You should be able to get a ressie onboard but you may not get the day or time of your choice.

Good morning fellow cruisers. Another week has gone by.
We now have only

Hi, everyone:
We booked our pre-cruise stay at AKL, Arusha Savannah view, for three nights. This will be like two vacations in one. We plan to stay mostly at the resort, so felt it would be worth the extra fee. Just hope they have the 30% reduction next summer. We can only hope. This just intensifies our excitement. One more week down, 13 months to go.

I'll keep reading these boards daily. Learning so much.

Many thanks
Jennie

You are way ahead of us. We will not book for the pre cruise stay for a couple of months. We usually rent a house in Kissimmee instead of staying on WDW property. It is less expensive and we get a whole lot more room. Everyone gets their own room and we have a private pool. :cool1:

So, I know it's still really early, but as we approach the one year mark () has anyone given any thought to a cruise name we could use? Something cute and catchy to identify ourselves with? I was trying to think of something with a Jamaican flavor but I am horribly uncreative so that was a waste of time :rotfl: Anyone have any ideas?

How about "Mickey's Jamaican Fantasy"
